Thanks Brian a nicely paced tutorial. One question: what happens to masks? I think Lightroom carries them over so that an adjustment to e.g. the subject, will be applied to whatever Lightroom deems to be the subject in another image. Does Photoshop have same capability?
Hi Brian, nice to see a tutorial on Photoshop. Please, keep them coming! Lightroom is good and all, but I am just a PS user through and through. Is it fair to say that adjustment layers in PS are equivalent to the sliders in Camera Raw for Light, Color, Curve, Color Grading, etc? Can they be used in lieu of Camera Raw? Thanks.
That’s a great question! I believe the adjustment sliders for things like Curves, Vibrance, etc operate similarly to the respective tools in ACR. At least, that’s how I’ve always approached it with my editing.
Thanks for watching, Alan! And about those LUTs... I was hesitant about it because I didn't want to go too far down a rabbit hole explaining what they are. Moment has a good article explaining what a LUT is and how it compares to a preset: www.shopmoment.com/reviews/luts-vs-presets-create-a-consistent-look-edit-images-like-a-pro
@@alanplatt888 LUTs were historically very much video oriented BUT they work equally well on photos especially for colour grading. There are 100s of videos on YT.
with the last ps update some of my presets are not active. the thumbnail is kinda crossed and when you hover over them it says "blending modes in this presets are not compatible with this (current) document'?! have you encountered this issue? and do you maybe know some solution? thank you in advance 😊
Very cool! I havent played much with presets. Will probably start after watching this. Gives me a few ideas! Thanks Brian Edit...feel free to share that warm preset with this photoshop user lol
Thank you! Very useful tips. I really think this will help me understand and use photoshop. 👍🙂

Photoshop does have a subject selection feature (it’s under the Select menu item), and I think it works similarly.

Thanks Brian, very enlightening! Any plans to develop a Ps Adjustment Preset Pack?
Presets make & save explained nicely, thank you, I can understand the principle. However LUT's Lost me.

Thank you. Articles & news letters I struggle with. Long live RUclips videos. However I see, I think, LUT's are more for video editing. @@brianmatiash

I just sent you an email 😃
Excellent Brian. Thank you.
I'm interested in seeing how the blend if option works. Thanks
I like the way you explain things. Thank you.
My pleasure!
How are Presets different from PS Actions?
Great video.
Thank you!
