I benefit tremendously from these beginning to end edit videos that you produce for us. Not only do I get a better understanding of the editing tools and how they affect the image, but I also get your thought process. As somebody who is not as experienced, I don't always know what needs to be edited in an image. When you look at an image, you are not only informing us what tools you use, but why you want to work on a particular part of an image. For example when you say there is a natural sun glow hitting that rock at the very top left of the screen, I was oblivious to that until you pointed it out. That's what I need to get better at and I'm grateful that you are providing this information.
Great video, Brian! I picked up several tips and ideas. Thanks! (I have purchased your Lightroom masking tutorial but have yet to watch it. I think I should!)
Hi Brian, I have been a Canon shutter user ever since I developed an interest in photography and for years I have owned the EF 11-24mm, and always wanted to find a way to use filters on it but I didn't want those huge filters, until Canon released the drop-in filters adapter, obviously expensive but I am very satisfied with the results I get using them on the R5M2, especially using it with the eye control the huge field of view allows an extraordinary range, which well calibrated takes you from corner to corner with incredible precision. Tks for sharing your experiences with us!
Thanks! And, oh man. I remember walking back to my Jeep from this very location and slipping on a patch of ice. I slid for a bit and actually ended up shattering the ND filter I referenced in this video. Go figure. At least I was able to get a tutorial video for my troubles. 😂
@@brianmatiash Oh no!! I hope all you hurt was your pride! I was very lucky walking down the steep and snow covered bank to get to the waterfall I photographed! It was quite treacherous!
Hey Brian, maybe you or somebody on here can help me out, so I have Adobe light room on a chrome book lap top, it’s very slow and I’m having such a hard time with editing. I’m new to all of this and am needing to upgrade my laptop so I can get this editing right by following your videos. Would a dell latitude 7000 be a great choice? I know nothing about computers and am learning all of this as I go but love photography and want to get better with it all. Thank you for your help
You’re going to want to get something in the range of 32 GB of Ram. I think that’s what I did with my IPad. BTW, I’m not real happy with the iPad and processing through LR. I usually am on my PC and I have so much more range and tools than I do on the app. I’m completely disappointed with this iPad/LR combination.
Thanks. A great video that pulls together so many of your techniques and suggestions.
I really like your workflow vids. Keep’m com’n!

Thank you for your encouraging words, Jeff. They mean a lot and inspire me to focus on more of these start-to-finish tutorials.

I photographed a similar winter watefall scene several years ago. About froze my b*lls off too! Nice tutorial Brian!
