    A long time ago I had a project to create Driving license almost 7000 of them, I created 200 of them manually that was a disaster lots of work. And then I learned how to use Variables. This technique is so time saving for this kind of projects.

    I used that before but it would have been even better if we could directly export to jpg PNG tiff or other formats directly. Creating hundreds of psd file takes lots of space. Also this feature should be added to illustrator the same way it works with Photoshop.

    Very good vid as always. But there are some problems with this approach:
    1. The business cards you created do not have a bleed (3mm of color all around). Aso there are no "cutting marks". Therefore no printer will accept them. Or he will but has to manually add it and will charge you for it.
    2. No printer wants to handle 1000 psd-files. They want one single PDF with 1000 pages.
    3. If a name is too long for your template, photoshop will not notify you. it will just create a card with the name choped off.
    Therefore it is not recommended to do business cards in Photoshop. Use InDesign for that.

    Thank you Unmesh for the great tip as usual. I understand that we could automate the export of the images as PSD, jpg or TIFF. Is it possible to export the images as png? (In use cases of rounded edges of the cards, like credit cards)

      LooooL.... rounded edge its make it s an finished paper's by cutting all four corner, after plasticity process. Its just a paper process !!!

    Unmesh, I was wondering if I would like to apply multiple images in perspective (canvas on wall behind a sofa). Is it possible too?

      Well...One of the options could be making an action and playing it... However this will just save your time of repeating the perspectives.
      (You can even go with variables btw. It will work most likely)...

    thank you so much for this. this week i was asked to make postcards. i work for 5 brands. and everyone wanted one for each of the locations they work for. for one brand alone i counted 43 versions. i was about to cry because they wanted it done this week! i even made a hidden layer of variable text just for the file names. worked like a charm and my computer didnt even blow up!!

    If the end product is printed, Indesign would be a better to use rather than Photoshop (bit map vs vector)

    This is perfect, kudos.
    I put together an excel/sheets with over 30,000 pieces of data and knew there was a better way than using Smart Objects, and this is it. Will definitely make things exponentially faster once I create my template then the spot for all the variables. Thank you.

    I have made 200 Certificates for attendees for my college Event. I was the head designer and had to come up with something less cumbersome than pasting names and saving as I am lazy. I discovered this back in 2017 and I still use it for making ID Cards. Thanks Umesh, I would love to work with you.
