    I agree with all of the positive comments! I'm new to photoshop and need to learn it for work at an exponential pace and your videos are just so pleasant and easy to watch. Your tone and ease of explaining things is just impeccable. Sometimes a bit fast but nothing turning down the speed doesn't fix or just replaying a section.     i do the exact same thing in final but instead of going where you go i just go to the blue channel directly from the channel tab, select blue channel , CTRL A , C , V on the layer tab , and then i play with levels , it gives you an accurate image of what you are removing or not , i end with an overlay brush with black / white if i want to remove not perfectly black / white stuff, when i am happy with the result i just copy paste it in the mask . voila

    Simply excellent. Hopefully Adobe gets the Sky replacement tool to a new level (so to speak) where it can handle the fine details with minimal effort.
    Thank you for your 'troubleshooting' videos. Now, if Adobe would just invent a Halo Brush.

    What about complicated hair selection with different background colors that are not selectable by using this method? Ist there any easy way to do it? Or transparent selections like wedding dresses etc

    You get a better result by doing Select - Sky then Modify and then Expand by 10-15 pixels, it reduces the fringe.
