    I know the odds of finding a block are insanely low but I like to think of it as playing the lottery all the time without having (and forgetting) to buy tickets all the time.

      2012 - think you could have still mined on laptops. You’d be RICH and on a beach somewhere… sigh. I couldn’t get over the Silk Rd so stayed away.

    These are little arduino programmable boards with display and wifi in a 3d printed case. Technically if you get tired of mining on it you could put it to use as a micro controller

    I cannot get the firmware flash to move past 10-15%,, updated the speed per Github and tried multiple different USB cables. Any suggestions?

    something is broken, the copies don't work, the KH/s don't work, I reset everything else correctly, I updated it and nothing works as it should, please advise me in the comments what should be done in such a situation

    I have 10 nerdminer in operation for a year, but as I experienced, sometimes it is in significant delay to refresh the actual price of Bitcoin. Do You have same experience and do You know, what is the reason ?

    Can the miner be modified to mine from a pool ? Seems like someone is earning the hash that the device produces or more likely its free resources. I say this since some miners were rigged to mine to two locations paying the seller after he ships.

      yes you can modify the pool and change the complete config. The code is listed on github, if you want to revamp it

    Are you able to mine something else other than BTC? If so, where do I get the setting to apply on the NerMiner and how to apply?
    Eg: I want to mine XRP, ETH or even smaller ones like OP or SHIB?

      XRP and ETH are not mineable coins. ETH switched over to POS (wrongly) so you can think of ETH as a central bank - whoever holds the most coins has the most network power. And XRP is centralised.

      Technically you can mine any mineable coin.

    after you do the initial setup and see the kh/s numbers, how do you get into the config screen again if you want to change the timezone or anything? seems like once setup you cannot get into the nerdminer wifi setup page anymore.

      Not much at all. A little annoying if sitting right on your desk or beside the bed, but putting the unit on a little foam pad that mine came as packaging dropped noise immensely

But in a topic I read on reddit, they say that even if it finds a block, the probability drops to zero due to the feedback speed and wifi speed.       It needs to connect to wifi somehow, you can turn your mobile into a hotspot, if that makes sense

      The nerdminer uses 1w per hour.
      An average AA battery has about 4w.
      So it will take about 4 hours to completely drain an AA battery if it was powered by AA batteries.

      Hey thanks! Yes power consumption is 1W and can be plugged into almost any with its USB C cable. There are a few people using little solar panels and running independently

      Well you're trying to win a block which has an extremely rare occurrence. There no daily return for something like this. You can earn a return on the KS0 miner I've done a video on ,and will be also posting on Neoxa smartnode

    Is there a way to factory reset the device? By accident? I put in the wrong Wi-Fi username and password instead of putting in the one they provided for me when I went to go scan the QR code again it goes right to a different website and it disappears off the screen so fast how can I correct this?     KH/s no one will ever find a block, much too slow, antminers work with TH/s and even there it takes time to find a block.
    A small gadget, nothing more. It will probably take a hundred years or even longer before anyone finds anything with a NerdMiner.

      A useful gadget. I like all the info it gives me, especially the current transaction fees. If you build it yourself it only costs about $25 which is way cheaper than comparable devices that do the same

      Not true. As his stats showed, it’s possible. Read up on SHA256 and the ‘nonce’.
