You need the original PSU to enable the High mode, or at least a PSU that's not only 140W but also be able to provide the required voltage (28V or something). Most 140W USB PSU's don't go to that high of a voltage.
Make sure you get the 140W USB-C cord. If you don’t none of the PS will work. I’m using 140W that delivers 140W to the USB-C port. Some of the 140W PS split the power between the ports. Make sure you check specs on the wattage of each USB-C port.
Hi Rabid, there are 2 variables which determine if you get the full high mode; 1. 140W PD 3.1 charger required, the single port must support 140W PD 3.1. 2. USB cable must support 140W and PD 3.1. So your problem is either your power supply, or the USB cable. I learnt this through testing my own Nano 3. You could have the correct power supply, but if the USB cable cannot support 140W PD 3.1, it will never hash on high mode. Hope this helps. Love these devices, I have 2 more on order😂
Maybe you can help me sir. This is probably a strange question, but I’m kind of limited to Wi-Fi at the moment but about how much data do you think this would eat up in a month? How many gigs?
I have mine running at 4.14TH. Going for BCH with a higher chance to hit a block within a year. But not being able to do high is due to your power source. Needs to be 140W or higher and some cheaper 140W aren't really 140W.
That is 105% NOT a 140w compatible power supply. That's one of those '140w Mac power bricks, which are not 140w and don't support the proper usb standard to run this miner
Would have been nice if you linked the official Canaan Avalon Nano 3 site in the description. I mean, all that content in the description but no link to the most relevant thing for the video.
Hey Rabid, How is the heat coming from the nano, i know they advertise it as a heater miner. But does it put out as much heat as any other miner such as ; the box miners.
Ok thanks, I live in an apartment and 3 other box miners and my window unit keeps it cool now but if the nano throwing out a lot of heat then probably wouldn’t be able to run it.
@@RabidMining Ahh got it, thank you. Because I am using the Ultras to mine on Nicehash but I think ill switch to mining KAS directly. Pick up some Nanos for the bitcoin.
@@RabidMining Yeah my nano worked with the new cable for 4 days on high mode without a problem. But when I turned it off and back on today, I got an unsupported adapter error. Strange that it even worked for me in the beginning.
It's normal that you are only with MEDIUM mode since the power supply does not develop 140W, I have the same as you, and on the site it is marked that it does not work in HIGH mode. Quick question, can you get it to work under NICEHASH?
That's really bad on Mineshop, they should be providing the correct power supply for full hashrate. This why I ordered mine from the manufacturer themselves, instead of a reseller. I'm sure they will sort this out tho, don't wonna have a go at Rabids sponsor

I have 3 Nanos so far, a 4th on the way. Great little miners IMHO You can get the factory PSU off Indiegogo, or the Avalon site now by itself. Though with shipping kind expensive. I'll send you a link for the aftermarket psu I'm using on one of mine. it gets hot, but does hash on High mode
@quamtica7247 it took a couple of months, but the pool I was using has shut down now. 😢 I was mining IAM (It's A Meme), and PLM (Palladium) coins on Retro Mike's pools. Now they're on Mining Dutch, pool mining atm, making about 0.30 per day at current coin prices. I tried soloing Fractal Bitcoin for a week with no luck before switching back to pool...
I must be unlucky but my unit is on claim for the second time in five months so it has been working for about six weeks since July this year, very disappointing
Miner WiFi is not stable. Multiple times came back from work WiFi disconnected but still using the full power. Avalon need really to update there firmware...
I've got one of these coming in the next few days. However, I have a Bitaxe Max, a Lucky Miner LV06 and a Lucky Miner LV07. The BitAxe Max uses the BM1397 ASIC chip and both the LV06 and LV07 use the BM1366 ASIC chip. The LV07 has 2 x BM1366 ASIC chip that's why it's hashing double the rate of the LV06. Does anybody know what ASIC chip the Avalon Nano 3 uses? I'm assuming it has 8 x BM1366 ASIC chips...

yes. and i think the power supply cant handle 140w. panda had the same.
yeah i got 2 on high mode (using the caanan power supply that came with the nano :)

Pennies

So, do these only mine for blocks? Or does it trickle Btc to your wallet each week?
You can join a pool for a share or solo mine
Depends how you mine solo blocks only or pool mining get daily small rewards.
Bitcoin is legal in some countries and restricted in others.
The most popular crypto exchanges include Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken.
Which website do you all use for the pool? Whats best?
I am on viabtc same as link in the description
Stablecoins are pegged to traditional currencies like USD.
If you do solo mine, does the miner tell you if it hit a block?
Not sure mostly likely keep checking the pool and your wallet every few days

change charger on more powerful and it will work on high level
Can you transfer the bitcoin you mine into other crypto wallets?
yes once it is in your mining wallet you used can move it to any wallet you want.
@@RabidMining how long does it need to run before it starts passively earning by mining BTC?
@ImMeters depends if pool mining or solo if solo won't get anything till it finds a block if pool as soon as it starts mining will trickle in.
I'm running out of miner channels to watch. The miner channels have turned into asic sales channels.
Sadly the only profit for the past 3 years has only been ASICs or CPUs. Most people refer to mining as gpumining but they are deader then dead.
