Well yeah. Many media sources get paid _by_ the US military. Movies, for example, get to use military hardware in film. The tradeoff is the military gets a hand in influencing how it is portrayed. Same with media about the police.
You have to remember most of the military is just a bunch of joe schmoes who barley passed the tests and psych evals and got the bare minimum training and bottom of the barrel equipment lol
Having been in the Navy it's really just like running around like a chicken with your head cut off. The media only shows the "cool" side and that's not how it is lol.
Fun fact: Forcing everyone to have a password with numbers and symbols in it actually make things _less_ secure, since people can't remember those passwords, and they just write them down. Passwords with only letters are easier to memorize, and they usually end up being longer.
Not only that but in order to remember those complex password, a lot of people are going to rely on permutations (ie replacing o by 0, e by 3, ect...) Or words in a phonetic way. Something that seems very smart but is incredibly predictable, making it super easy to brute force through. Special chars are also overwhelmingly added at the start or end because it's so inconvenient to add them on the middle. And finally because the password is so complex, it's also used multiple times to compensate for that brain space taken. Meanwhile literally stacking 4 completely random words together actually being you can't brute force it very well, the link between the words for a computer isn't clear, there is more overall characters and a brain can absolutely remember a lot of 4 word combinations even if the phrase itself makes zero sense.
Ehh, it depends on what sort of environment you're talking about. If you're talking about passwords for public accounts on public websites, get a password manager and make long, randomly generated passwords you just copy / paste when you need them. In data breaches you'll be safer because no one's gonna bother brute forcing your 20 character nightmare password. In places where security _really_ matters and that kind of data breach isn't something you'd be subject to, yeah, just do a mashup of random words and make sure you remember it. Probably safer then.

Just a small correction the FBI, CIA, NSA, US Army, US Navy, US AF, and US Space Force all have their own Cyber Warfare/Engagement Operations sections.
6:06 That's amazing like actually AMAZING... The things you can do with Social Engineering and it's not just with Hacking. the Restricted places you could go with CONFIDANCE and Surface level Deception, Just Looking like you belong there and you're Supposed to be there is good enough for TOO Many people and places.
Start with the fundamentals. Learn the basics underlying CS and you’ll understand cyber on a level beyond most “cyber analysts”. Learn cryptography, Networking (specifically how the protocols work), programming (NOT JUST SCRIPTING), operating systems and how the kernel works, social engineering, etc. Thank yourself later. Don’t just fall into the professor messer comptia trap of memorization.
Learn to be fluent in Linux. Then when you feel like you have a decent grasp on all of that, watch some basic pentesting series and try hack the box. Once you’re comfortable with that, you’ll be set for OSCP, Sec+, Net+, etc. Good luck!!
They are so unhinged that I had a wingman that literally joined as one of the first non prior service one bravo's. The cyber warfare community is pretty tight knit. They managed to find out what squadron he was in, in bmt. They sent him a toddlers laptop and a patch with instructions to the mti's to have "this trainee carry this on him at all times." he had to carry this toddler laptop with him as well as the patch and was called H4ck3r as a meme. Literally the most Unhinged afsc I know.
Reminds me of a little lesson from my hardware teacher way back in the beyond where, when discussing PC builds, he wrote on the good "Good, Fast, Cheap." Again this was a pick 2 situation. You can build something good and fast but it ain't gonna be cheap or fast and cheap but don't expect it to be very good. He was a pretty wild dude. Had an old late 60's early 70's Corvette Stingray with the original 8-Track in it. He lucked out and score a shitload of blank 8-Tracks and a recorder at a garage so he rigged up the 8-Track recorder to a PC and was able to download and "burn" new music on to 8-Tracks! They sounded great too!
@@Azeal Yeah he was pretty wild for being in his 70's. Loved what he did and had an enthusiasm for teaching that was highly infectious that just made you want to really get in there and get the proverbial hands dirty. He was a big proponent of "Fuck around with it until you break it then fix it!" Perfect attitude for folks who didn't have much computer experience and were constantly afraid of breaking something.
I have a friend who works for the air force. a few years ago, as we were about to rip a bong on vacation (literally was packing it) he got a call notifying him a jet had been absolutely smashed and totalled on his base meaning he'd be drug tested when he got back. he wasn't, and still isn't, even a pilot! I haven't even watched the video yet, I'm just still pissed he has never been able to smoke pot with me because of the god damn air force drug testers and we've known each other for at least a decade. I hate the government
32:20 This is why I physically shred my old HDD/SSD's. I've got a SATA to USB3 connector and I've taken hard drives pulled from old/decommissioned machines and literally gone through the entire onboard filesystem. One time that stands out was when I pulled the drive of an old laptop that my dad had forgotten the password to (was set to shred everything after 15 password attempts) that was open season once hooked up to my device. Played some of his old games off of that HDD while waiting for him to come over to pick the files he wanted. Moral of the story? Your computer/OS can be secure, but the physical drive is wide open to any device it's plugged into as if it was its own.
The 'i don't care about business suits' IT guy doesn't even have to be just a big ol dude with a tshirt, jeans and an overgrown beard either. Usually you just have one guy that stands out of the crowd. Especially on-site support type guys. Source: Cowboy boots, worn jeans, flannel lumberjack shirt, arms covered in tattoos and biker jewelry clad speaking here. I don't live in the US and work for an organization that's _very_ formal, just to be clear. So i basically stand out like a sore thumb. It's funny how quickly people turn towards the one guy that just doesn't belong, and go "You're IT right? Can you help?", even when they don't at all know you. Best example would be one of the VIP's of our organization (one step below the CEO themselves) literally screaming across a crowded conference hall to me for help during an online meeting starting to go south. Easily 350+ people there, and across a hall larger than 4 baseball courts combined, i get screamed at and waved for help. Shit works. Pretty damn well if i might add. ;)
I feel so validated hearing him say he doesnt like IOT. i HATE IOT stuff. why does my microwave need internet? why does my stove need internet? remote starting a preheat? that's what timers are for. so many IOT things are solving non-problems that already have existing solutions.
Password managers aren't as unsafe as he makes out. The thing is, they're just a convenience. The real linchpin is recovery options. If a person only has one phone or one email address, then that is their most important password.
Just so you know, when someone says 'Don't be a blue falcon', they're saying 'don't rat me out'. Usually means they know they're doing something wrong and are trying to guilt or pressure you into not holding them accountable. There's a big culture of upper ranks punishing all the juniors for the actions of one, so it's a powerful tactic.
I'm so glad you mentioned the issue with the deadbolt. I PROVED by a demonstration that this is how the locks work to my father when he was alive. He got angry because he couldn't change it now so why bring it up. This man was a contractor. he built houses. I'm bringing it up because he should have known this shit and just didn't, but knowing it now is still important because he was still trying to build shit in his 70s!
cybersecurity is literally how much isolation can we have for this data[logic-storage], process[logic-transfer], connection[network-transfer], person[physical-transfer], etc. it is figuring out how to keep as many layers of security away from hackers as possible, not being "bulletproof", but to bore them away. Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!

The part about social engineering is sooooooo true, you can't trust anybody, I used to do server/node security and before that I did technical support for a Major Cable company in the US. You would get the worst people call in and, light, camera, action!!! HERE COMES THE SHOW BABY! After doing that job for 4 and a half years I could tell if it was a phishing attempt just by how they answered simple questions.
I feel like as an ubuntu user at work, people respect me less if I bathe regularly, shave, and wear anything but snorg tees :p Thanks for bringing this to light good sir.
49:30 with function as a service. One of the high end car dealers, think BMW, Mercedes, etc. along those lines has something that if you pay for it, they'll unlock 60 extra horsepower, in a vehicle YOU paid for. Then there's another In the Chiron. You have a key fob that you have to plug in to take it from 380 Km/H to 420Km/H, although, if the car determines it's not safe, you don't get top speed mode.
Going for CWO in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) so I jumped at this video when I saw it. Thanks for the insight, we take a lot of cues from the USAF in our operational structure so I think this is going to be very valuable insight.

You thought the US military was already wild as is? Wait until you learn how the Pentagon controls the portrayal of the military in cinema, SINCE 1949 NO LESS. Many movies you know have had the Pentagon interfere with the writing, like Iron Man, Transformers, and beyond.
I've seen the video he talks about with the crying baby, he was a reporter that was tasked with getting his day ruined. He wasn't just socially engineered, he was key logged from an email also.

my parents did the thing with the Door so you can open it with Alexa. one time I forgot my keys and my parents weren't home but I remembered that I could just call and wait until I can leave a voice message. our phone played the message out loud. so I left the message of me saying "Alexa open the door" and the assistant actually heard I got in. I told my parents about it and they deactivated the read out loud function. was luck for me but if I didn't realize someone else could have. backdoor access basically
I just thought this would fit in here and its a funny story.
Doing my part and commenting. You also appeared in my feed for the first time in a while :)
hooray, glad to hear it!
Everyone: concerned about military reaction to video
Interviewee: doxxes himself in first 10 seconds
Always hyped for a new Azeal upload. Keep doin what you do because it is great!
My bank account got compromised, but at the time it did get compromised I only had 25 bucks in my entire account so they tried to purchase something and had the e-caed get declined 😂. The guy who took it as well connected it to his Samsung smart pay too, so he got arrested.
LMAO what a dumbass for linking it to personally identifiable info like that
that man's opsec
pov: you are trying to have a bad day but then Azeal uploads :O
No bad day for u
Uno reverse ur day
:D
currently in university studying computer science (planning to move to the US and become a fighter pilot in the air force) and this was an absolute treat to listen to considering i've been having doubts about continuing my education in this field lately. Keep doing what you do azeal. Big up from jamaica.
Here before the US military gets butthurt again, love everything Azeal - can't wait to watch this
The timing on this video is perfect, I’m about to go to my most boring class of the day
I did already knew some of the concepts he was talking about, but I love the recommendations he gave on learning both lockpicking and security
Yep, he's a smart guy :)
ok this is what ill be getting into pretty soon this is literally my bread and butter dude ty
Wishing you luck in your studies! ^^
Love the Imperial Guard model ❤
Just a small correction the FBI, CIA, NSA, US Army, US Navy, US AF, and US Space Force all have their own Cyber Warfare/Engagement Operations sections.
6:06 That's amazing like actually AMAZING... The things you can do with Social Engineering and it's not just with Hacking. the Restricted places you could go with CONFIDANCE and Surface level Deception, Just Looking like you belong there and you're Supposed to be there is good enough for TOO Many people and places.
yeah social engineering is wildddd
I've been teaching myself a variety of cybersecurity skills. So will watch tomorrow, ty for making such good content. I hope your channel recovers.
Oh cool! And thank you :)
Good luck!!
Azeal to the US Military:I didn't hear no bell!
TRUE
The way axeal said “sledgehammer to the wall” is hilarious to me for some reason
Do property damage >:D
Azeal reall just be picking a fight with the whole US military, huh?
Well, I for one, am on board with this.
😎
They are so unhinged that I had a wingman that literally joined as one of the first non prior service one bravo's. The cyber warfare community is pretty tight knit. They managed to find out what squadron he was in, in bmt. They sent him a toddlers laptop and a patch with instructions to the mti's to have "this trainee carry this on him at all times." he had to carry this toddler laptop with him as well as the patch and was called H4ck3r as a meme. Literally the most Unhinged afsc I know.
Hey Azeal, much love ❤❤❤
🧡🧡🧡
engagement metrics! engagement metrics! engagement metrics for another fluffy orange fox thing!
Sounds like a fun guy!
This appeared in my RUclips recommendations, at the very top of the page! Let's go!
lets goooooo!
Azeal always chilling in the videos is interesting to me-like are you actually sitting? Or is your character sitting while you are standing??
Yes I am actually sitting! I have trackers that mirror my real life motion in vr
this channel is such an inspiration!!
commenting to keep azeal afloat
Thank youuu
I have a friend who works for the air force. a few years ago, as we were about to rip a bong on vacation (literally was packing it) he got a call notifying him a jet had been absolutely smashed and totalled on his base meaning he'd be drug tested when he got back. he wasn't, and still isn't, even a pilot!
I haven't even watched the video yet, I'm just still pissed he has never been able to smoke pot with me because of the god damn air force drug testers and we've known each other for at least a decade. I hate the government
Oof, wishing him the best ;-;
It's weed man, not that deep
hey azeal, this is the first video i haven't had to search up, algorithm actually showed me this one
Nice!!
wonderful video yet again!! these videos are so good to put on for multitasking
Praying I get this job tomorrow, I’m a developer transitioning into cyber security, really excited about what the field has to offer!!!!
Good luck!!
Yep, very true, any unencrypted data is vulnerable no matter what.
Oh boy, unless the thumbnail is literal, this is probably going to be wild
Shit works. Pretty damn well if i might add. ;)
Drip goes hard lol
Please do more interviews with cyber specialists
I will eventually!
I feel so validated hearing him say he doesnt like IOT. i HATE IOT stuff. why does my microwave need internet? why does my stove need internet? remote starting a preheat? that's what timers are for. so many IOT things are solving non-problems that already have existing solutions.
Yeah it reaches a point where it doesn't even help and it's just a gimmick
Commenting for the algorithm. Keep making great content Azeal!
Thank you :))
Password managers aren't as unsafe as he makes out. The thing is, they're just a convenience. The real linchpin is recovery options. If a person only has one phone or one email address, then that is their most important password.
Social engineering. ;)
Just so you know, when someone says 'Don't be a blue falcon', they're saying 'don't rat me out'. Usually means they know they're doing something wrong and are trying to guilt or pressure you into not holding them accountable. There's a big culture of upper ranks punishing all the juniors for the actions of one, so it's a powerful tactic.
the military being corrupt? shocking :o
thanks for the info!
I just got off work, I'll finish this tomorrow. Great video so far!
Ah yes, the military being unhinged as always.
Keep interviewing unhinged people!
That moment they shout "Hey Google" - _ - I hate you for it... BUT LAUGHED TOO HARDED! XD
cybersecurity is literally how much isolation can we have for this data[logic-storage], process[logic-transfer], connection[network-transfer], person[physical-transfer], etc. it is figuring out how to keep as many layers of security away from hackers as possible, not being "bulletproof", but to bore them away.
Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!
Had this vid playing in my car. Video cut out around 36:50
Me: "???"
Speakers: "Something went wrong"
Bro just proved his point right then and there. Wow
Spooky
Azeal. You’re dope as fuck. Giving these guys someone to talk and vent to and then allowing us to hear those stories too is just awesome. Thank you
I'm starting to get recommendations again!
Recommended again baby, azeal is back!
wooo!
ooo engagement oo algortihm ooo engagement
Oooo spooOOooky
Work Hard, Play Hard.
Unless you're Airforce.
lmaoo
Azeal video to carry me through to the end of my day? Hell yeh, bruther. 😎
Yet again another great episode. Thanks for reminder as i go change off master passwords
Glad you enjoyed and learned something!!
I always do you have the best guests and interviews. Love listening to your videos while im working
Multiple factor authentication everywhere, bitlocker on my laptops, bitlocker on my external ssd, vpn on every untrusted network, custom encrypted DNS on all my devices.
I'm not perfect, but I think I do pretty well.
Azeal. I GOT THIS IN MY RECOMMENDED LETS GOOO
Ayyyy
The "hey google open my door" set off my google assistant
Going for CWO in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) so I jumped at this video when I saw it. Thanks for the insight, we take a lot of cues from the USAF in our operational structure so I think this is going to be very valuable insight.
Throughly enjoyed this vid hearing about this stuff is really freaking incredible and made for the perfect background video
Glad you enjoyed it!
One day you will be found dead in your room with the COD being: “death by shooting” if you keep this up. Eh, it’s worth the risk
Worth it
I'm sure Azeal will be fine. It's not like he's broadcasting that he has info on the Clintons or is going to like reveal the flight logs of everyone who attended Jeffey Eppy Steppie's magical fantasy island.
You thought the US military was already wild as is? Wait until you learn how the Pentagon controls the portrayal of the military in cinema, SINCE 1949 NO LESS. Many movies you know have had the Pentagon interfere with the writing, like Iron Man, Transformers, and beyond.
Yeah that shit is wild o.o
As an animator? Basic knowledge hahaha
Femboy talks to armored up chad about silly hijinks for an entire hour
uwu
I've seen the video he talks about with the crying baby, he was a reporter that was tasked with getting his day ruined. He wasn't just socially engineered, he was key logged from an email also.
