A cool thing with Apocalypse and his immunity to Incinerate, if you have Magik and her Journey through Limbo card, you get the flexibility option to use it to Move Apokalypse, then heal him 1 or give him an energy for it as he is immune to the Incinerate condidition it would give. Edit: You pointed this out near end of the video when I got to it
I played 2 games so far, we didn't have character designation for the horseman roles yet. I found that Magik felt good because of the mystic attacks, and honey badger was able to be an insane nuisance with the power phase teleport and death role (she is far too dangerous to ignore, especially on demons). Cassandra felt good, and gambit rolled so poorly that the second game I played Sinister who was able to clone an Iceman into play on t3 which was incredibly impactful. Toad was helpful as well which was nice. I hadn't thought about Magik teleporting Apocalypse, but I had the ability to do that and it could have been stellar. I just didn't roll above 3 successes with any character that game except for magiks spender, thank God for counting skulls.
Quick thing, Pestilence isn't pick an enemy within R2; it's all enemies within R2. Apocalypse on that large base would cover an awful lot of real estate with that, slowing 2-3 models is horrible
Might have found my new go to affiliation here. Love apocalypse as a character. I think iceman is being slept on here though, giving out slow or damage if they are already slow I feel like can be deadly.
Quick correction about Survival. If (using the example in the video) Apocalypse is injured and plays Survival he only can't be hurt until after the FIRST TURN. You spend 6 power on this during the power phase. Your opponents first character they activate can't hurt apocalypse. But every character after that sure can. The card is very situational.
You are right - I mis spoke and said ‘Round’ rather than ‘turn’. However, even with this, this card isn’t situational at all really. The only time it is situational is if you have priority and are going first anyway. It’s perhaps the best non-restricted neutral card in the game right now.
@@RichMidGaming Late reply sorry to bring this back up. I agree its a great card. But it doesn't even make most 5 cards. Like you mentioned its worthless if you have priority. So roughly half the time its useless? You also need to be injured. So not using it on turns 1 or 2. Average game length? 4 turns? So you have on average 1 turn a game it could have an impact. You also need to be in a situation where you need to keep one character alive and they won't survive your opponents first activation. Like you mentioned its best used on your biggest threat. Which means its also often costing 6 power on Apoc. Don't get me wrong. Internet tone and all that makes it hard. But I agree its a great card just not likely to make your 5. I take it in my 10 but Immortal servants, The first one, and your two restricted of choice leaves only 1 spot left. I personally have found I prefer recal to make sure apoc can get even more rerolls or shut down an opponents spike. But I also have to give a special shout out to "Journey through limbo" Giving apocalypse a range 3 move to deal with all the throws that also heals or gives him power.
I am very excited for this affiliation! I don't like archangel, this is probably his best home but I have cut him personally. I added a splash character of Dynamo to help get shock out. Not sure yet if I'll keep him but he has done well for me so far.
It’s something I’m definitely looking into at the moment. Right now I’m trying to get enough games, rotating each horsemen out in turn and trying different comps.
There’s one character I think that may be worth the splash: Hood. The healing for 3 plus inflicting Bleed which then either becomes an extra point healed or a power seems strong for keeping Apoc up.
I am curious to know your opinion about including Angel as an unaffiliated character. It allow you to use Ultimate Sacrifice and maybe Fallen Tactics cards. Do you think these two cards will take too much space in the Tactics?
It's not right that Apocalypse is a horseman because that means there are 5 horsemen. You said nothing can happen to a character with Survival, but can't they still be pushed or thrown as part of an attack?
Not sure if you're telling me I'm wrong with my interpretation, or if you just mean it shouldn't be like that. Either way, Apocalypse has a Horsemen card so is counted as one. As far as Survival goes, they can be pushed or thrown, but wouldn't take any damage.
Thank you so much Rich! My head was spinning looking at that chart. As a 90's baby I can't wait for Apocalypse games!
I will try and force Mister Sinister into my Apocalypse lists because they are my favorite Classic combo from the 90s show

Great video as usual though! Thank you for your effort!

Do you think there are any characters worth splashing or does the horseman mechanic restrict it too much?

Any chance you can post your roster in the notes? I cannot read them on the screen at all.
