9 $ per mini unpainted is still really expensive when compared to mini nowadays, not even the prices 20 years ago, even compared to something like GW since the quality is clearly lower. 12 $ per painted mini is more reasonable, but still quite steep. I understand the backlash, gotta admit.

Love the revamp, but it feels a bit like WotC attempt. LoL f.e. (with it's first Board/Tabletop game Mechs vs. Minions) brought the whole package with gorgeous minis (and didn't just copied playtested versions to than make them unnecessarily detailed) for less than 100 bucks. CMoN does. And where is all the former contempt for lay offs etc.?
      Still admittedly stoked though;o)

You also have to remember that the low price of the older Heroscape products was actually a major contributing factor to it's downfall. The game was very expensive to produce given all the plastic, which meant they also had a very tight advertising budget, hurting sales even further to the point where they were forced to recycle D&D minis for the last master set before it was shelved. There was also the problem of how blister packs were distributed to stores which also made things hectic for store owners.
Does the higher price point suck? Of course it does, but I can see how the increase is so that the brand can be more sustainable in the future. There's an actual sense of the creators learning from the mistakes of the past. Hell, we should even be LUCKY that we're getting new Heroscape products in 2024, especially ones that are still compatible with all of our older collections.

As an oldtime fanatic with still an olympic collection sitting in bins, I can't justify the new relases unfortunately. Price being 1 dealbreaker, and its just 2nd or 3rddary to my priorities rn, but I'm still pretty happy to see it and how the figures have that same og kind of style. The lacking depth in character function and design bothers me more these days, but it's still quite cool to see how they unfold unique new ideas. I look forward to watching the progress of the revival, and may still pull the trigger on something someday if I'm drawn in enough.

Their was a misunderstanding on the pronunciation of kyrie? They battle over magic pools that when they drink of them they get certain magic abilities (like summoning beings from all over space and time) and they grow wings.
Ironically you say think of them as valkyrie which is easy because that's what they are. The Val is a prefix which indicates they are empowered.
So val+kyrie. It wasn't hard you just had to interact with the lore at some point.

  • @marcbennett9232

i'll be honest, I dont even think its a lot per figure. compare it to any current GW release and see how it measures up price wise. are the GW sculpts better? probably. but to say the price is excessive is just wrong IMO. also the second set that you listed as higher cost per figure, one of those figures is a double sized model, so basically priced as 2 models, making the cost the same as the first set.
EDIT: for the people who want the terrain, the terrain pack is great. the water is also an awesome addition. the 3 hex water is actually nice, it will make setup slightly easier. although I might have to do some kind of mark to separate the hexes

Oh screw off. OP has been consistently covering a game he's passionate about, giving positive and negative coverage. You're going after a regular guy who did his job so well that he succeeded at getting a sponsorship, who probably in the big picture is still working at a loss given how much time goes into making a video. As long as someone is transparent that's all that matters. You're a creator too and should know better

Damn bro who poo poo'd in your cereal?
Like @TheRulesLawyerRPG said, I've been consistently covering this game for almost three years and have poo poo'd the direction the developers have gone when I don't agree with it. My hype has always been genuine, even before I stood the chance to make any sort of money from them.

@@tabletopbro I have watched a lot of your videos on Heroscape and enjoyed them for your perspective. I thought the video was very good, but had expected a trick. It still felt more like an advertisement than a review, which is perfectly fine when it has a sponsor to promote. I think what you did is how RUclipsrs with a sponsor should promote sponsors products, by making the video topic about the product. You did that and my second sentence was not directed at you. Many RUclipsrs who use scandal or drama topics to get an audience to watch unrelated sponsor advertisements built into the video are frustrating to watch.
