- Why did so many people stop believing Amber Heard during the Depp v. Heard trial? I set out to figure out just when and where Amber Heard stopped being credible. This is part 2 in a series on why and how Amber lost credibility during the trial. This video looks at the case of the missing medical records.

I stopped believing her because of the way she kept circling around questions and seemed incapable of giving a straight answer. Camille asked her, "Did he hit you while wearing his rings?" and she doesn't say. "yes" she says, "I always knew him to wear rings." Well, that's very interesting but it does not answer the question. Another time Camille asked her, "Isn't it true that YOU hit Johnny?" and Amber answered, "I could never hurt Johnny." Again, that's interesting and again that doesn't answer the question. I just gave up on ever hearing a straight answer from her and I stopped believing her. It was not anything Johnny Depp said in his testimony that turned me against Amber. It was what Amber said in her own testimony that turned me against Amber.
Exactly and she never denied hitting him. Anytime he was asked, he said he never hit her. When she mocked him and said tell the world you're a victim of DV and he said I am. He's always admitted when he was wrong and always denied hitting her. If you didn't do something, you say I didn't do that..she never said that.

That was me too. I knew NOTHING of their accusations/divorce. (I didn't even know her) When the trial began, that's when I heard it all. I will say, I heard she was claiming DV. I thought "what did he do?" I watched waiting to hear what she had to say, with only half listening to his story. Within 10 mins. of her on the stand, I thought, "Something is way off." At the end of her first DV story, I thought, "yeah, this is trash." By the end of her second story, I thought, "She's trash. Johnny is innocent." When I realized he was innocent, I went and rewatch the beginning with different ears and understanding.

Exactly, she was taking pics of everything else around her except for the gruesome injuries she should have sustained based on her testimony. She even made sure she was not in the picture she took of the mirror after being badly abused, makes no sense. She is taking the pic but makes sure she is not in it, why?

You said it. My ex did something similar and I’m still dealing with the consequences 25 years later. I’ve had to have cataract surgery in my early ‘50’s because of the damage he did to my eye, have had major issues with my jaw and teeth..and right now, have developed a huge infection in my jaw, have had a tooth he had shattered removed and two more to go, and have developed a lump in my cheek bone and depending on what it is, may need facial surgery. People acknowledge the ongoing emotional trauma associated with dv, what they maybe don’t realise is that the physical injuries that have also been inflicted persist. And you certainly can’t ice the injury, whack on a face of make up and be good to go the following day. Not a chance. Amber Heard misrepresenting herself as a victim of dv is incredibly unfair to the women and men who have never got to have their day in court.
An actress…whose entire career, LITERAL FOUNDATION is in the appearance of her face. And not one medical record to bolster the claim to make sure it’s credible.
She had plastic surgery on her nose!....but then he breaks it and she doesn't seek treatment ?!?!?!
If she was really Beat i would literally bet everything I own that there would be a million pics and medical evidence and she would have been showing everyone creating witness.

When your literal career is about having a pretty face. And we’ve seen victims of DV say they do not believe Amber along with her timeline of events, she has to be bullshitting. Getting on the James Corden show a mere 24 hours after supposedly getting 2 black eyes was a CRIMSON RED Flag. Especially since JD has been known to wear rings. Rings like that, across his hand, she trying to convince the sane part of the world that she was getting beat?

If an internationally beloved superstar centimillionaire can have career & reputation *almost* permanently ruined by the false accusations of a deeply disturbed but determined and slippery serial-liar ... what chance would YOU stand?
I watched the trial and found AH was not believable throughout the trial. I am a survivor of DV and I know what it’s like to be punched on the face (eye, jaw and lip) I had bruises for two weeks and this woman AH is a liar.
Exactly. I saw my mom's face after my father. She couldn't leave the house for weeks, but we didn't have " instant " pictures available either. This was a horrible subject to use for revenge, because that's all this was for her because he finally reached the end. Vicki

Where are the medical records. If she told the truth about her injuries she would be in the ER and have medical bills.

@@edennis8578 There is also the photo of her gaping real wide at the show and that would have shown any swelling or split in the lip for sure. Not even super gluing the split would have worked and that's about as close as you can come to a quick fix to that kind of damage.
@@znail4675 Yep. No swelling, no marks, no muscle impairment to any part of her face. She doesn't wince, grimace or show any discomfort or pain or limitations of any facial expressions. No make up does that good a job covering up injuries. She's a total fraud.
If she had been hit in the face that many times by a man wearing rings she would have had severe facial injuries. Another reason why women who have experienced that kind of violence know that she isn’t credible. Also, counter to Elaine’s ridiculous argument that unless women film themselves being beaten they aren’t going to be believed Amber’s problem was that she did provide some photos that she had taken, which then brings up the point that if she took photos of this, then why didn’t she take photos of that. Which in turn makes any photographic evidence provided by Amber very flimsy.
The police took pictures of me THE NEXT DAY. No issues there from EITHER side. Just saying
She had tens of thousands of photos......where are the photos of blood everywhere in Australia.....cuts to her hands and feet ......the smashed glass coffee table that she landed on....broken nose ......where are the medical records?
AH would have facial reconstruction if she was beaten up like she claimed. Ring's are like getting hit with brass knuckles. 💡

Especially since she relied on her face to make money, no way she wouldn’t be straight to a dr or plastic surgeon.
I think the random photos of Depp and those of Heard's (alleged) minor injuries worked against her. If she had produced no photos whatsoever then people may have thought 'she could have been afraid to take pictures' or 'maybe she's the kind of person who doesn't take photos often'. Instead the pictures she provided made people feel like she obviously wasn't afraid to take photos and that she did it frequently. Also, why are there no pictures of the major injuries she claims to have had? The ones she produced didn't show anything that actually corroborated the injuries she claimed and the candid ones taken of Depp suggest she wasn't even remotely concerned that he'd lash out when he saw the camera. It made it look like a setup. Sometimes your own evidence is what harms your case far more than you could have predicted.
Agreed. She says she walked on broken glasses, cut her feet, was beaten up, yet she goes around taking photos of mirrors while doing an effort to hide herself and zero photos of her feet, not to mention she was walking just fine!!!!
No photos of any cuts, no blood around, no testimony about picking glass bits out with tweezers, and the glass behind the bar was still unharmed in more recent photos of the rental home. That gold veined glass from behind the bar is hard to find, it must be from the 70’s or 80’s. I doubt it would have been replaced exactly the same. I can’t imagine Johnny throwing so many bottles from the outside of the bar at her hiding behind it without anything hitting the glass shelves or mirrored wall. But maybe we were not supposed to notice those details?
I think it was more like Amber was throwing bottles from behind the bar at Johnny on the other side.
Or, if she'd have said he slapped her on occasions rather than describing a battle fro Terminator then the pics would have matched up to the story. She's not too smart.
She takes pictures when Johnny falls asleep in a chair to show he’s abusive, but never got up in the night to go to the bathroom and take a picture of the horrible cuts she even says she got being r*ped on top of broken glass?
It’s also strange that her bruises are always depicted on the right. Johnny is right handed so her bruises should have been on the left. But it does make sense for them to be on the right when the bruises are just makeup, because it’s easier to put makeup on the same side as your dominant hand

When I was a much younger guy I was involved in a minor brawl with a guy wearing rings. He only got one punch in but let me tell you there is no way you can avoid getting some visible marks to your face. Geesh, I wasn't wearing rings and his face was certainly marked up. I'm sure some members of the jury have seen first hand the results of someone being punched repeatably in the face. And this would give them enough reason to say "bull...." to her testimony.
Even a light slap with those type of rings would inflict at least scrapes or scratches
Everyone mentioned that AH never admitted to anything. She had to nitpick things that were already established facts or things about her story that she had already testified to. It was just bizarre behavior. I'm a guy and I've been in fights when I was a kid (and young adult). As others have mentioned, AH has no clue what it's like to be hit by a man. Her face would have been completely destroyed if JD had hit her. And there was an unwritten rule back in those days. If you couldn't get away from a fight, you *always* threw the first punch because the first punch usually ended the fight right then and there. To say she was hit over and over is just silly.

Agreed. Her face would have looked worse than Rocky's. How the hell she had the gall to claim what would have resulted in a train wreck of a face, left me dumbfounded when I watch the actual trial. I was asking 'is it me?!' 🤔
@@CherDele that’s exactly what I thought. Her face would look like rocky. Eyes swollen purple red nose super swollen. Cuts on her face from the rings. But they show her the next day with absolutely flawless skin. She also testified that when she went on TV the next day that she wore this red lipstick to cover up a split lip, that’s ridiculous I don’t care if the lipstick is an absolute perfect match when you move your lip and start talking it’s going to open up and start bleeding and that didn’t happen. Especially her when she laughed with a really big wide open mouth and they took pictures of it and there’s no cut on her lips
No one is even talking about the fact that she’s an actor whose looks are her livelihood, who is touted to be one of the most beautiful, yet she didn’t see a doctor after multiple facial injuries?
Must be half werewolf or something since she can heal overnight. No way she got beat the way she did and have no scars, healed breaks or fracture, nothing. Does she have a skin condition? That could explain when she has redness on her face. If I rub my eye area hard enough, it will turn red as well.

Of Amber was really hit with those rings, she'd know EXACTLY which day, and which argument it happend.
It seemed to me that the snotty AH was trying to be like her attorneys several times. She seemed to think she was capable of confusing or messing up JD's attorneys! She came across as very, very arrogant and insincere and downright silly in many places during this trial! I was embarrassed for her!
Her arrogance and her unwillingness to accept any responsibility was a real turn off for me. I believed her in the beginning, but by the end of the trial I didn’t trust anything she said.
@@crystalturken That's the thing - so many people believed her in the beginning. She tried to say no one believed her for years, and she "faced our culture's wrath". That's not what happened. People believed her, and Johnny was 'cancelled'. People only stopped believing her when they heard the tapes, and when she opened her mouth at the trial.

Medical evidence should obvious enough but the absence of any cosmetic surgery or dental emergency speaks volumes. It didn't happen, it could not happen without that amount violence leaving blatant visible damage.

This trial has certainly taught me what great mystery/puzzle solving skills it takes to be a lawyer--I love how HLL explains her legal analysis of each party's words and actions!
She kept contradicting herself, her body language was off and she was obviously acting , went against facts, her statements didn't make any sense and were that of a narcissist.
Love how you breakdown the elements of the trial and how it impacted the jury's decision. You guide us through the details in layman's language, making it so much easier to understand the various strategies used by the defense to attain a win for Depp.

If he hit her over and over with rings in the FACE, it would not just be swelling and bruising that she could potentially cover with makeup. The skin on the face is very thin...there would have been lacerations caused with someone punching her in the face, with or WITHOUT rings. Make up isn't covering that up...
I find it hard to believe he hit her that lmamy times with all that jewellery and didn't split a lip at the least.
The problem is she didn't swell or bruise at all, she only took a picture of a bruise on her arm which looks like it could of came from anywhere. Her face was spotless and not a mark which didn't match up with what she claimed he did. It is possible to not get a laceration while being punched but not a single red mark, not a chance.
I can almost understand if the average person didn't go to the doctor after a SA, but when you're a celebrity, especially one like Amber Heard who relies heavily on her looks to get parts, that's a luxury you can't afford. If he did what she claims with the whisky bottle, she'd be a complete mess and would have to go to Emerg or at least her GP. In any case, there would absolutely be medical records. You're telling me she never went to her doctor and he or she didn't notice the physical damage? I find that hard to believe. We're not just talking about cuts and bruises, we're talking about serious risk of infection and other complications. You don't just put a band aid on that. If that actually happened, her GP would have been her first witness if I'm her lawyer. Forget her paid psychologist. If you're a poor person in America with no medical insurance, I can understand not seeing a doctor for something like that, maybe. But a rich celebrity? There would be a paper trail.

For real no manager whose financials depend on her client would allow that. It would be a great violation of any contract especially movie contracts

This footage shows AH's general attitude of being argumentative and evasive even during calm moments of questioning. I agree that her testimony would have been viewed differently had she admitted to mistakes, bad behavior, and easily contradicted information.

Not that this excuses any of the bad choices and poor behavior of her attorneys, just that I doubt she listened to them and probably wasn't prepared because she thought everyone would just believe her without question, as they had for the previous 6 years.
my belief is AH never intended to accuse JD of abuse until he decided to divorce her. hence, she never bothered to collect evidence of "abuse" as it occurred. She did take photographs with the intent to embarrass JD because she is a horrible person who does not respect other people (unless it is a man who does beat her) and especially despises a nice man
It seems she acted very suspicious during their marriage already setting up situations which caused his security to start collecting evidence cuz they were afraid she might be up to something.
She had been around acting for years in generally B movies. She married Johnny "after years of abuse". Then she was in a movie that was highly successful. Finally her "break out moment". No longer needs Johnny's coattails, but he filed for divorce.
If he hit her with them rings she wouldn't have just bruises she would have gashes and no makeup would have covered it. Disgusting!!!!

Amber tried to pass off the notes from her counselor as medical proof. A counselor, except for a psychiatrist, is not a medical doctor. A counselor simply accepts & documents what their client reports. In the states of Arizona & Colorado, counselors are required reporters of abuse. And the fact that Amber's counselor didn't report anything to authorities would indicate to me that her counselor didn't believe Amber either. I am a retired nurse & the resulting injuries from being hit multiple times in the face by a man wearing numerous heavy rings as JD normally wears, would have spilt her skin. You would not be able to cover up that kind of injury with makeup.

As someone who has even hit many times in the face by a small guy wearing just one ring I can say she would’ve been a right mess. She’d be black all over her face and have split or cut skin as well. I had that from a guy with ONE ring. I had a split eye, a cut on my nose, two separate splits on my lips. Eyes so swollen I couldn’t open them. Three missing teeth. This guy was smaller than depp and still managed that much damage
I wish they would've asked more direct questions like, "You document the arguments, texts, etc. Did you submit a photo of your injured face with no makeup on? Where is a photo of your injuries? You went to the doctor for a concussion check, but you didn't tell the doctor you were injured?"
I wish the attorneies would say it straight up and point out directly what everyone was thinking.
You can do the questions your way when you finished your lawyers degree.
You generally don't want to ask those kinds of questions directly because it gives the person on the stand the chance to directly be able to deny it or weasel out of it with excuses. Better to make them admit it indirectly, then remind the jury of the admissions in closing statement.

Seriously if Johnny had of hit AH with them rings that he wears even the bruise on her arm would of been worse than the picture shows. Her face would of been a mess and she would of had to get medical help

I've been hit by a man who had a ring on each hand repeatedly. I had scratches, gouges, bruises, & swelling. Ice didn't take away most of the swelling and makeup wouldn't cover it.

There were so many ways in which amber came across as extremely dishonest. I actually assumed Johnny was guilty when I started watching the trial and then very quickly discerned that she was the guilty one. Amber claimed that she was pummeled, punched, slapped, dragged, possibly violated with a glass bottle, etc., but had no medical records. Any person that truly endured such horrible abuse, would have needed medical care, yet she never went to the ER or had any kind of medical treatment. No medical notes, x-rays or documentation. Unless, amber is Wonder Woman, none of this is plausible.
The 'well nourished male' looks good in isolation but when you realise the rest of the same document refers to 'female' it becomes clear that it was just a typo. The jury would see that straight away, I know I did and I didn't get the document to study (just what was shown in this clip). Ironically Team Heard's submissions often contain multiple errors and typos. It happens.

The report had her name at the top and was clearly about her. Female got typed up as male. Probably a dictation transcription. Anyway its academic. Amber exposed herself on the stand as a liar who makes false allegations against someone and expects everyone to believe her "story".
@@sharonjuniorchess Precisely, just a minor error in an otherwise accurate document. It's like when people claim they don't have to pay back a mortgage because the date was misspelled as "5th of Febuary" when it should be "5th of February". It was a 'de minimis' (too small to be meaningful) error.
Half point or full point. I have never heard this being a thing. She just plain lied. No proof.
She claimed repeated specific instances of horrific abuse that would leave anyone hospitalized with severe injuries. Yet the most she could muster for evidence was some slight discolorations on her arm and face, and no swelling because she "used ice". Nothing about that is even remotely believable in any way, shape, or form.

The medical record was probably recorded verbally and the machine didn't pick up the "fe" in "female." Sometimes the "fe" is spoken under the breath and isn't caught by recordings.
By my count, AH had negative infinity points by the end of the trial.

I once got hit in the head by someone wearing a ring and my top of my head was bruised with a deep cut on it and that wasnt even with full force. trust me if she had gotten a proper punch from him with his rings she would be a lot more injured than that so called little patch she shown on the trial.
Johnny wore rings like doorknockers. She would have swelling for weeks.

Interesting question! I find every case is really different. I would not say any of mine were “like” this because the different facts make each case so unique.

There is a WNBA player name Sophie Cunningham that plays for the Phoenix Mercury. She a very Beautiful person outside of being a great basketball player. She was hit in the eye doing practice and have a noticeable black-eye, even with make up you can see that there is issues with her right eye! But AH is above all of that!
I'm surprised hospitals don't stock up on ice for car crash patients, I mean... if it can make your face look brand new after getting punched in the face several times by fists adorned with metal rings. Either that or she has Wolverine level healing powers. 🤷♂
I fell and hurt my lip, didn’t even break the skin. Iced it almost the entire evening. I still had a visible swollen lip the next day.
Yall!! I broke my nose playing flag football a few years ago and I had TWO black eyes because of it. I work at a bank so imagine how crazy I was looking lol. No matter what I did, I couldn’t camouflage the swelling of my nose and the “baggy” look of my eyes. It was a mess. Thats how I know Amber is a liar. She is white and Im black. Her injuries would have definitely been more visible.

I was impartial at first. AH was evasive, patronizing, rude, and inconsistent during the trial. Didn't help that her baseline personality appeared arrogant and pretentious (and weird). Taking no, zero, zilch accountability was a tip off to who she was. I think AH and JD are troubled, but AH

The moment she admitted that Johnny Depp was "always wearing rings" was a MASSIVE blow to her case. As Camille Vasquez argued, Johnny Depp wearing a full fist of heavy rings would hit like a truck. If he hit her, she's not getting out with some minor bruising. She is going to have a broken jaw.
The pictures I remember seeing in this trial had bruising so minor, you had to have a professional doctor testify that they were even there. Given that they were modified in an editing program, it's pretty clear to me that she just photoshopped bruises onto her face.
As per usual, she wasn't clever enough to realise WHY she was being asked that question. Once she'd admitted it, it was too late to backtrack.

It’s hard for me to believe she was abused so many times and never sought medical treatment. Anytime a physically abused person goes to the emergency room that abuse is reported to the authorities regardless if the person wants it or not. It’s up to the victim to actually press charges but however it is reported by the E.R. Staff. That would have been all the proof that she needed. I realize that may not be the normal course of action in movie land but it certainly is in South Carolina.

When Camille asks certain questions Amber panics, likely because she realizes that she got found out. She takes pictures and records everything except for any serious injuries, she goes to a therapist and cries dv and not to a doctor who could give her the medical care she would need for the abuse she claims happened and could also verify and document its existence.
I work with children with disability and I can assure you that bruisings and redness from punching and kicking can last for days. This isn’t a superhero movie where one can recover as quickly as she claimed.
The problem is that she knew that JD had evidence of her physical abuse to him.
She could have just tried to show that JD was equally abusive.
That would have been far easier to convince the jury about.
But that would also have painted her a bit like a hypocrite for trying to act as the spokes person for IPV victims.
She hade to be a victim her self.
Hence all the over the top stories that just makes her look like a crazy liar.
I think the reason she argued about the rings was that if she was hit with them on, it should show in the pictures taken the next day. Which they didnt.

The absurdity of it is that anyone, especially at a doctor's office, would have seen physical injuries, bruising, swelling. Anyone being hit repeatedly in the face with heavy rings would have clearly seen injuries. One "bruise" does not support the violence she purports to have experienced so to me, everything else she says is tainted by this lie.
if JD hit her she would never of been able to appear on the James Cordon show. When I saw her on the show the very next day , I knew she was making alot up as she went along. #busted

She learned that “avoid actually answering the questions then being confused about the questions” in the depo from 2016. She acted the same way in 2016 as she did in the VA trial.
