Hello and welcome back to crazyrov studio. In today's video we will look at how to upgrade Networker version to 19.5 on a Windows server.
First of all I would like to announce the new version of NetWorker app for android. This new version contains search capability in the command details page. iOS is again giving me certificate issues so it is going to take a while more.
Alright so getting back to the topic for today - NetWorker 19.5. All the new features and changes in this version will be covered in another video. In this video we will look at how to do the actual upgrade of NetWorker.
1. Put the NetWorker databases in a consistent state:
nsrim -X
nsrck -m
nsrck -L6
2. Record the current location of the NetWorker client file indexes:
nsrls
3. Record the range of ports the NetWorker software uses:
nsrports
4. Perform a backup of the bootstrap, the client file indexes, and the resource database.
5. Record the latest bootstrap save set ID (ssid) including the file number, the record number, and the associated volume label.
For example:
mminfo -B
date time level ssid file record volume
10/11/11 16:29:40 full 4254377781 0 0 bootstrap_vol.001

Hacer una copia de seguridad de arranque debería ayudarlo con una copia segura de la copia de seguridad a la que puede recurrir. También solía tomar una copia de la carpeta nsr/res y nsr/mm solo para mayor protección
What is NRE responsible for please, I did upgrade and I didn't do NRE ? Just curious if it is affecting the environment ?
NRE - NetWorker Runtime Environment just JRE and a few config mappings. This was released as Oracle made Java licenses and not free anymore. This also helps us to use the correct Java version with actually trying multiple version or going over KB articles to find the right one.
This does not effect the env.
Great video we tested this procedure in a test environment going from 19.3 to 19.6 and the GST would not come up.

If you are referring to a client then there is change required.

You will need to add one during the configuration of the JB, if you have not, you can go ahead and delete your JB configuration and configure it again. Checkout the video on configuring a JB here - ruclips.net/video/bKvdhzavK6U/видео.html
What if we don't have any existing key store password or don't know what was it before?
You can create a new one but if there are any external networker servers or NMC integrated to this one then you need to establish the trust again.
@@crazyrov in my environment, the networker server is only one and it is only acting as NMC.
Last time i completed the Upgrade, I lost all the LDAP configuration after the Upgrade .. Configuration which is found in NMC--> Setup --> External Authority. Do you have any idea what could i did wrong during the Upgrade that could result in loosing this configuration
I think you have reconfigured the authc db which actually contained this information.

@@marwaelshawy5411 During upgrade if you will be asked about the auth service keystore configuration. read and understand the options carefully here.
Hi Sir, can I have a video of upgrading from 19.4 to 19.7 version? I have to do that in my environment shortly and I don't have any experience in any networker server upgrades😢. Please help me in this.

Not really! Keystore if lost means that you have lost the trust that was established between different authc servers. Just rerun nsrauthtrust to establish the trust again and you should be good.
Where we have to run this and when? What is the full command for nsrauthtrust

Hi Raj! I think it might be an issue with the Networker DB, I would recommend you to complete all the consistency checks before upgrade. Also, check the daemon.raw for more details on the error.

The NMC logs are on the NMC server in the location /opt/lgtonmc
