Excellent reaction and commentary. Your channel came across my u-tube feed today. Having been in several movies over the last 40 years as an extra. I find the world of movie making fascinating. You're editing and movie knowledge seems to be vast. I subscribed almost immediately. Unfortunately, I'm retired now, but subbing to your channel is the best birthday gift I could have given myself. That was great! Thank you! I heard many people who react to movies, having the same fear about sequels, but you guys already passed that point and you can discard any fear now … which is making me hardly wait to see you react to trilogies (like Back To The Future, for example) or longer sagas (like Star Wars, for example). About such type of reaction videos I have a humble advice for when you’ll get to them: try to not alternate them with other movies, because it sort of annoys fans (especially Star Wars fans). To The Prestige I think I’ll get tomorrow. Million thanks again. Stay safe and take care, both of you. All the best wishes from your Romanian brother …
Hi RB, interesting advice regarding sequels. So would you suggest watching Back to the Future one, then, two, then three all in a row instead of watching other movies in between? Is that what you're suggesting? (:
Thanks for the shout out! Seeing this movie again after a few decades jogged some memories. I forgot about the action movie that is Dundee 2. I'll give it to the studio, it is a completely different movie than the first one. Both leads are still lovable throughout the movie. It is an entertaining film. However, I think it also feels a bit "Home Alone" esque. Bad guys infiltrate somebody's home and are met with booby traps and shenanigans. It seems to lack the depth and emotion of the first movie (except for the line at the beginning about being with his goddess vs being home). I think it would have been a better movie if they dropped the action plot and explored the romantic leads and Mick's desire for home more deeply, but perhaps they were worried it would be too similar to the original, or couldn't come up with a satisfying resolution. Resolutions in action movies are easy, you just beat up or kill the bad guy and everybody's happy.
Happy you saw the shoutout. And, as you know, I agree with your plot idea. I would've done the same as you suggested. Still a fun movie though! Thanks for watching! (:
