I second this post. It's great to have somebody that is very clear and has excellent lighting and explanation of the process for maintenance and disassembly as well as reassembly of a platform.
Excellent demonstration and explanation. You are a natural teacher, detailed but yet direct and precise. My 23 is such pain to get released, your explanation should help me change it out without going to a gunsmith.
Good thing I checked your video first before re-assembling my 17 g4. I installed it incorrectly. The flat side was facing towards me which I reversed thanks to your video. Awesome!
This instruction is all you need to install. I chose however a Trapezoid Slide Lock rather than the one shown. Works great and makes a great difference.
Ha I got stuck! I was too quick to remove it and I had to watch your video to learn where the lip sits, front or backside. Thanks to you, you saved me from screwing the simple install up! thank you!!
Thanks, Lenny. Just left your Nashville store. Really nice place. Didn’t have everything I needed for my Glock 23 Gen3. I know… it’s a little long in the tooth, not as much on the shelves for it. It’s practically a new pistol as I’ve changed/ upgraded just about everything. This evening I got the extended slide lock, and extended magazine release. Purchased the stainless steel pin kit, but might just return it, and order the extended/ raised slide stop release that wasn’t in stock.
I'm glad that you came out with this piece, because I couldn't take down the factory one it's just to small and this piece work's out great on my Glock 22.
My spring went a flying across the dang room. Finally dawned on me how to put er back into the Glock 19. Nice video. I went on Amazon and got the stainless steel angle lock lever from Fixxer... works just fine. Thanks Uncle Lenny
Installed one of these little jewels today in less that a minute, probably more like 15 seconds. This has made removing the slide so quick and simple, It makes me wonder why Glock doesn't provide these standard with every glock sold.
My only comment, as someone mentioned earlier, is be aware of the “spring” can be under some tension when you remove the original. I didn’t realize (I was a bit too excited) and it went sailing.. luckily I had just cleaned up my lil shop, including vacuuming and was able to find it (still took 10 anxious min).
According to Gaston Glock, you do NOT release the slide with the slide stop lever. When I got my first Glock pistol more than 20 years ago it came with a subscription to Glock magazine. In the first issue I received there was an article written by Gaston Glock. In the article, Mr. Glock stated that the slide stop was not intended to release the slide. He intended that the slide be drawn all the way back, after inserting a fresh magazine, and then let go. This motion was to insure that the top round was firmly seated in the chamber. This is why the lever is called the slide STOP lever.
Lenny this video is fantastic. I purchased the ESLL and watched your video. I have zero mechanical aptitude, and it took me a couple of tries, but I got it (in like 5 minutes). If I can put this in following your video, anyone can. Thanks!!!
It's a slide STOP lever, not a slide release lever. Suggest you pull back on the slide with an overhand grip. Fully release the slide and let the springs do their job.
Lenny got all excited about your video on slide lock lever replacement. Looked inside my GLOCK 45 9 MM and it's all together different. Has a coil spring on the lever lock. I'm 92 this month, love shooting but no longer have the strength in my hands or fingers to work slid lock. How would I go about replacing the lever lock on my model 45?
Very interesting, that the host is making a big deal of putting the slide in the correct way, with the smooth side towards the front of the weapon, yet when he replaced the part, he put it in the opposite way.
I noticed that too. My take down lever slipped out last weekend, not knowing which way it went in I installed it with the smooth side towards the back and worked with no problems after 3 mags...so I'm a little confused.
+Luigi Long I don't see that ... It looks to me like he replaced the stock on with the tab to the rear on the new one. The G30 does need this piece replaced. They are in eBay for $10 shipped.
+Greg Armstrong Installing a part backwards may still work, but the piece should have the tab rearward. If it works, that does not mean it works at its best. You want it to follow a diagram from Glock or follow the host's directions. Tab toward rear.
Hey Lenny, how about making another video about how to replace this same part on a Glock 43 ? The 43 is installed differently from all the other Glocks I have seen. Please help !
Iam Very UPSET Lenny, I Have No Computer To Order Anything For My New G26 gen 5... I Called BOTH The San Diego & Knoxville Stores & I Was Told, They DO NOT Take Phone Orders, When I Use Option #1, I ALWAYS Get A Busy Signal... Iam Looking For The Following Parts: The Extended Slide Take Down Lever / The Extended Dual Slide Release / 3, +3 Pearce Mag Extensions For The 10rd Mags / 2 X-Grips For 2 G19 Mags / & x1 Chambermax Slide Racker... WHEN Will Ur Store Accept Phone Orders ??? THANKS...
Bcuz 99% of glock owners can field strip their glock with no issue, thus they sell millions with no problem. So then they say hey we can make more money off of people who buy our pistol then add more unnecessary shit and pay us for it. Genius really.
Thanks for this guide, man! Now: which one is more comfortable to use: extended flat, or extended trapezoid lever? It seems that trapezoid may cut in my fingers a bit more with its sharper little "horns"? Share your knowledge, please people!
Just to let everyone know..... That brand new glocks are going to be very tight and if you do exactly what they're doing! Than be really careful because stuff is still under tension and if you " Depress " the spring or locking locking for a different tab it will fling out at you
NOTE - For us Gen5 Glock owners. There is a different spring holding the extended bar than shown in this video. For us, push the bar all the way down and slide the OEM bar out, covering the spring. then hold the spring down and slide in the new bar, See this vid instead - ruclips.net/video/pVN9onu1sTM/видео.html
I would hope that you got it figured out by now, but in case anyone else needs to see how to install one with a coil spring. ruclips.net/video/pVN9onu1sTM/видео.html
EVER WONDER WHY IF GLOCK IS SO BITCHEN, SO PERFECT THEN WHY DO THEY NEED SO MANY UPGRADES? EVERYTHING FROM GUIDES SPRINGS TO SLIDE LOCK LEVERS TO MAGAZINE RELEASE BUTTONS AND DON'T FORGET BARRELS NEED TO BE UPGRADED TO MAKE THIS FIREARM OF "PERFECTION" FUNCTION PROPERLY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! DID I MENTION FIRING PIN ALSO?
How closely did S&W SD9 VE copy a Glock 19? Right down to the same engineering shortcomings. That's what happens when you buy into the hype. Glock uses "Perfection" as its marketing motto. The nearly flush takedown tabs are for from perfect. Thats why Galloway sells the exact same "wide" takedown lever for both Glock & the SD clone. For 12 bucks thst you could have spent on a box of ammo, you get a wider lever - which does make takedown a tad easier - to its credit. BUT...this is progress? When the G17 Gen 1 came out (many moons ago) and every model since has kept the same, inconvenient, PITA takedown system with the same little cheese graters for grips, you might think that there is no neason on earth to duplicate it. Isn't innovation wonderful? BTW, Glock Guys rock when it comes to making a polished, professional presentation that's clear, concise, and stays on topic I've sat through dozens of YT's titled, "Apex Tactical spring kit fot the SD " that don't teach the viewer hoe to install the spring kit. About 95% of them are like "Hey, RUclipsrs, Well, I did the trigger job. it does feels smoother...blah, blah blah." Of course their next "upgrade" will be a Glock OEM - thr blade safety. So, after removing what was the raison d'etre for having a long traveling, and heavy two stagepul
I appreciate your easy yet professional manner as well as the clarity and lighting of your tutorials. Keep up the good work.

6 videos i wasted my time with to find out witch way the lip faced. Thanks again Lenny. You’ve really made building a Glock easy.
Lenny, you are the MAN! Thanks for showing me this and shame on Glock for not having the larger one from the start. Much appreciated!
Good thing I checked your video first before re-assembling my 17 g4. I installed it incorrectly. The flat side was facing towards me which I reversed thanks to your video. Awesome!
Thank you for the video. It made upgrading my Glock21SF a whole lot easier.
This instruction is all you need to install. I chose however a Trapezoid Slide Lock rather than the one shown. Works great and makes a great difference.

LENNY WHEN IT COMES TO GLOCKS, YOU SIR ARE A MASTER. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Just installed it. What a difference. Ordered another today for my other glock.
I'm glad that you came out with this piece, because I couldn't take down the factory one it's just to small and this piece work's out great on my Glock 22.
Your videos in detail are unmatched good sir. Thank you
My spring went a flying across the dang room. Finally dawned on me how to put er back into the Glock 19. Nice video. I went on Amazon and got the stainless steel angle lock lever from Fixxer... works just fine.
Thanks Uncle Lenny
Purchased one in stainless with help on the phone with Brian. Great customer service. Will be buying more products from you soon.
Lenny you are a great speaker & instructor on these videos !
Thanks. I couldn't figure out how to install but your video made it simple enough for even me.
I love your Chanel it comes so handy for first time glock owners
This guy is the OG of Glock
Great explanation even for a “simple” task.
Installed one of these little jewels today in less that a minute, probably more like 15 seconds. This has made removing the slide so quick and simple, It makes me wonder why Glock doesn't provide these standard with every glock sold.
+Sam Bonz It's greed! Just like a car basic price, but when you add options and upgraded items. You pay dearly!
Great part. Works much better than factory.
I have used your videos to work on my Glock!!!👍✅🇺🇸
this guy could teach new math......! takes all the guess work out learning..great video
Good video, Thanks, It's so much easier now, no more having to dig in with my fingernails to pull the thing down
Fingernail on my middle finger is all tore up trying to get the darn slide off, but I have a Model 45 9 mm. very different from the one Lenny showed.
My only comment, as someone mentioned earlier, is be aware of the “spring” can be under some tension when you remove the original. Another great, helpful video from Lennie. Thank you sir.

Good one Lenny well explained like all the videos
It should have come with it in the first damn place!
Met him once, very nice guy polite and tough…..just like me.
Very helpful video Len!
Thanks
Pete Rossi
GREAT VID. Very professionally done.
Parts Prices Should Be Included In ALL Glock Upgrade Video's...
Watch out for the slide lock spring to go flying out Larry seemed to have forgotten to mention that fact.
He's wearing a Truglo Tru-Brite chronograph. They run around $500-800 depending on options and finish.
It's a slide STOP lever, not a slide release lever. Suggest you pull back on the slide with an overhand grip. Fully release the slide and let the springs do their job.
Thanks so much....good information presented clearly...appreciate the help
You do a great job or explaining the installation. I guess I am that 1% but the extension works great...Thanks for the RUclips...
Thanks for the easy instructions
Be careful when you're taking it out the spring might fly out it actually hit me in the forehead you will have a bad time trying to find it
Happened to me. Thankfully I found it and was able to figure it out.
You need to do one for gen 5 as design has changed for the spring.
Lenny got all excited about your video on slide lock lever replacement. Looked inside my GLOCK 45 9 MM and it's all together different. Has a coil spring on the lever lock. I didnt notice that ah
my slide lock lever will not lock, seems like the spring in the slide lock is to weak, what can I do ??
Thanks Alot of help and great presentation

Great vid Sir, but why does not came standard from factory with Extended Slide Lock Lever???? The difference is minimum !
Bcuz 99% of glock owners can field strip their glock with no issue, thus they sell millions with no problem. So then they say hey we can make more money off of people who buy our pistol then add more unnecessary shit and pay us for it. Genius really.
nice tutorial, thanks !
Thanks for this guide, man! Now: which one is more comfortable to use: extended flat, or extended trapezoid lever? It seems that trapezoid may cut in my fingers a bit more with its sharper little "horns"? Share your knowledge, please people!
Made it easy, thanks
Dear Mr. Magill, Just what part engages the slide lock lever? Is it the barrel or the recoil spring? TY
Just to let everyone know..... That brand new glocks are going to be very tight and if you do exactly what they're doing! Than be really careful because stuff is still under tension and if you " Depress " the spring or locking locking for a different tab it will fling out at you
Please make an extended slide release for the G43. The Ghost and Vickers both suck. Please make one like the Suretouch but for the Glock 43.
Thank you!
spring and slide just fall out of my polymer 80. seems like alot of folks are having that problem,
I wish glock would bring back the 17L and the 24... And maybe make one in .45
Very helpful. Thank you so much!
NOTE - For us Gen5 Glock owners. There is a different spring holding the extended bar than shown in this video. very nice tutorial thanks!!
Super Helpful!
Now with the new COIL SPRING for the G19/3 how do I take out lock as I need to compress spring?
I would hope that you got it figured out by now, but in case anyone else needs to see how to install one with a coil spring. ruclips.net/video/pVN9onu1sTM/видео.html
my spring came out. What now?
I installed as shown but I have to left my slide up a tab on my Glock 23 to bring it all together should I send it back ?
Great video! Just curious, what watch are you wearing in it? Thanks
Mine doesn't fix. How do I return it
hi, what is the exact thickness of this in thousandths, and highth from spring insert to top of lock thanks
IT WORKS!!! TY TYTY
Thoes should come stock
removing this part from a Polymer 80 is impossible. it's way tighter tolerances than a Glock. it's hard to get in.......and impossible to get out
Thanks.
Is this applicable to gen 5?
Awesome!! Thanks
Cool, thanks!
Very helpful thank u
glocks are the easiest guns to work with in the whole world.
Lost my spring. :’( 5dollars to replace at the glock store.
THANKS
will this fit for the G40Gen4 10MM pistol...?
I’m a Lenny Magill guy 🤷🏾♂️
Real simple install BUT doesn’t apply to the 44. Glock
Will it work for the gen5
I just put one in my 29 and I love it. So much easier.
How do you do this on the G42?
The spring you need to depress is not visible like the one in the video & all other glocks.
what about glock17
The 17L AND the 24 is back, check out Budsgunshop
