For the ones using this video as a tutorial, the pin comes out easier and without risking to damage the part your taking out and the notch on the pin just by pressing down a bit (back and forward) on the release lever. Also try using a nylon or plastic hammer.
JUST FYI, YOU NEVER PUNCH A GLOCK PIN OUT OF THE FRAME!!! If you put pressure on the pin with a punch and wiggle the slide stop back and forth it will push out with little effort...
Thanks for this video, I just got the tyrant extended slide release, excited to see how easy it is to swap out, can’t wait to get it in and swap it out
Eddie Martinez hey nice problem, I like running extended slide releases, slide locks, and extended mag releases on all my glocks. Just makes them that much better
Rasseru just picked up couple of the s15 mags, so I’ve recently done the mag release to an aluminum extended one as well, I see you’ve done your front site, that’s next for me putting better sites, again thanks 💯🙌🏽
Eddie Martinez yes sir. The Shield mags are amazing. Also yes I am running Trijicon night sights but there are many great and cheaper sight options out there also. If you are on Instagram I’m at @therusslee_
you should NOT follow this advice. The trigger pin is under tension...you have to depress the trigger bar slightly to take the tension off the trigger pin. you SHOULD NOT whack the pin with a hammer as shown here. All that does is risk bending your trigger pin or bending the extended slide release
2 options, 1) The spring on your ets has weakened so its not pushing the slide stop up to stop the slide after the last round. 2) Slide release is being held down by your support hand when firing preventing the slide to lock back.
Does the slide lock back on the shield arms mags? Ive went through a few after market slide releases because they were not compatible with shield arms ...
Maybe you should learn how to disassemble your gun before you go altering it there’s no need for a hammer to remove your pins I can remove any Glock pen with a toothpick all it takes is knowledge of where to press down on the slide release . I am so sick of seeing people use hammers and punches these pins are precision installed and are taken out the exact same way they’re put in . I can tell you’ve been watching some Glock store videos
I have already responded to a message about the use of the hammer and since altered my way of doing it. Just a little wiggling slide release and trigger and it comes out no tools required. But hey thanks for the comment 🙌🏻
I agree. I am in the Marines and I can dis/as small arms issue to us with nothing. I can dis/as a .50 Cal with nothing but a push pin since the bolt assembly is very heavy duty. No hammer for sure still though lol
@@3rdgenbestgen21 Yeah like I said in comment above I have since learned my mistakes and don’t use a hammer anymore Just a punch and wiggling things works just fine.
@@TheRussLee I meant no disrespect to you it’s not your fault people like Lenny from Glock store make videos telling people to hammer down on pins that don’t belong hammered on how will these new owners know the difference. I use a toothpick for everything besides pulling the locking block . Good on you for learning it’ll help keep your parts in better shape longer.
@@HotBrass-Lead hey no problem and I appreciate the comments and I understanding. You are right that’s why I used a hammer in the first place because of videos like that
There are still people that think that it is a slide release lever. NOT AT ALL. That's why most people can't move it down. There is a lot of pressure there. The part is a slide stopper to keep the slide opened after the last round shotted. That is the only function of that part. When the slide is opened and a loaded magazine is inserted for shooting , you just pull the slide back to disengage the slide lock and that's it. Don't complicate your life or say that the gun does not work well. It is you and only you. Leave your firearms as they come from factory. Most updates just cause problems.
Just installed mine for a Glock 42. However, the slide will not lock back with an empty mag well. If a mag is inserted, the slide will lock back. Empty mag well, and I attempt to lock the slide back…it won’t lock. Any ideas? Anyone?
You may have installed it backwards. Make sure the little edge or lip on it is facing towards you or the rear sight. It will still lock with a mag because it locks off the empty mag not the slide stop
Yes As stated by a previous commenter. I have since learned what I did wrong in this video and no longer use a hammer. Wiggle the slide release typically will free it and it punched right out

Aldo Hiciano YES this is true, I have since realized you can just work the trigger and press down a bit like you say to work the pin out.
I cringed when he played "Wack-a-Mole" on that pin with a hammer. The only tool needed is a 3/32" punch. Oh, yeah, and a roll of tape. Haha.
Posting ID I have since figured that out and don’t use a hammer anymore lol
@@TheRussLee -- I bet you're still using a roll of tape, though. ***lol*** We all do. haha
Posting ID yup a roll of blue painters tape 😂
Thanks for the video. Well done. I just got my wife the 43x and she has a lot of trouble with the slide release lever. This should really help
I’m glad it could help

Great video
I am going to get one for my G-48. Factory one is very stiff.
Yes they are
My ets mag won't lock now have you tried a ets mag in yours after this?
No I haven’t but I wouldn’t think an extended slide release would affect the magazine catch. 🤔

Had 4 ets mags all not lock back, junk. Like the other gentleman said... weak springs. Always go OEM
Very helpful, thanks!
No problem

Timothy Nguyen mine locked back last couple times I shot it. I’m gonna go re shoot it soon for a video and I’ll double check.
They work just fine..you have to go to the alluminum mag release cuz the metal shield mag strips the polymer mag releass...
@@mr.b3132 do you recommend an aluminum aftermarket slide release extension?
What flashlight are you using on your glock 43x? Btw just ordered my slide lock in red and this video was very helpful 👍🏾
