I studied this bike for a year and just had to have one. Found a leftover 2018 in black - which is what I wanted anyway. Still too much silver on it for my taste, so I blacked it all out - a real head turner. No, it's not the baddest bike on the block, but it's certainly the best looking. Besides, in normal use, who needs more than 145 HP? I traded in a VFR1200F for this bike and I'm happy as hell with it. It'll keep up with the VFR up to 80 MPH, and believe me, 467 pounds is a lot more fun than 600 pounds. Smoothest engine in the world, and, yes, the muffler sounds just fine. Plenty of torque in any gear - even in 6th at 25 MPH it's got smooth strong acceleration. I've never ever been burned by a Honda, from my Super-90's in the '60's, my first true love CB750 in 1970, a CL450, V45 750, V65 Sabre, V65 Magna, VFR1200F, and now this beauty. I love this bike. Call it Naked, call it NeoSports Café, call it whatever you want - it's a great bike.
Honda, can you PLEASE release a 4 cylinder 700-800 roadster? No I don't want a cb650f and your 1000cc is too expensive. And no I don't want the NC whatever. Give me a rival to the Z750/GSR750 with a Honda touch. Basically that thing but cheaper and less powerful, I don't need 140hp, 100 will do.
Cb650r is an upgrade to the cb650f and its a legit upgrade. 5 more hp, 20lbs lighter, better brakes, better suspension and most importantly better tires. Add a full exhaust and the total will be 10+ more hp ( and a bit lite trq) 30lbs less weight.

Just a remark - great review but when you disclose any specifications, I would love to see it displayed - like you displayed the price.. Thank you... The bike looks cute - not sure if I am impressed though, I had the pleasure of riding a Black Bird for over 80K miles over 12 years or so... cheers..
Can this be a good first(starter) bike ? I was looking at the CB650F but this one is stunning. I'm thinking riding it in "rain mode" will make it more beginner friendly...... What do you think?
I'm glad I didn't buy the CB1100RS, I preferred to wait until the right bike came along and this one is spot on for me, I think is the right bike I was waiting for, the RS lacked powered (only 90bhp) but this one delivers 143 almost the same as my old X11, so YES this is the bike I've been waiting for, great review and video, thanks.
Well damn! Looks like Honda has done a lovely job. All the things I like in one bike is a hard thing to come across. I wonder how it would be with clip-ons?
This wil be like my Honda X11. Nobody will buy it now, but everyone will want it caus its rare in 15 years. @Bennetts Bike , how would you rate this vs the new speed triple RS ?
Tough choice! Other than the £1000 price difference (RS vs +), in terms of enjoying a 'spirited' ride there's little to chose between them. The screen and electronics are more advanced on the Triumph while the Honda has a certain character about it that's so good. Having ridden them both, it'll all come down to personal preference so give them both a go and let us know what you think. Cheers, Michael
Ive already ridden the RS , its such a step up in naughyness from the previous Speed now to get my hands on the new honda ! Cheers for the Reply Michael , much appreciated !
This review was too spec-oriented. Nowhere and in the review has the reviewer said where was he very pleased or unsatisfied with the bike. To average words, nothing stands out, that's the vibe that I am actually picking up of from the bike. Cool design, mature and competent bike, but relatively "vanilla". But that's actually Honda, so no surprises in that department, I guess.
Michael, I appreciate your work, and almost always give likes to your reviews. But even full review, which I've read now... I don't see what stands out. Everything is "nice", "good" etc... And I haven't seen your joy out of riding this bike. Just my opinion. Thank you for the video and review.
Why don't the Japanese manufacturers come out with a big bore naked for the states? With an inline 4 that's at least 1300 cc's or bigger. Retro, naked, huge inline 4. I'd buy one.
Honda is upping it's game in terms of motorcycle designs because MY GOD the newer models for all upcoming bikes from Honda look STUNNING. Goldwing, i hated it with a passion before. Now, sh*t i want to HAVE one.

Mangalex28 Souless because no vibrations, no engine noise, no complicated electronics, no auto burn and it's no white engineering. That's why it is souless.
Where did you test ride it ? Only a couple of places in the world where it could be described as too slow, and they are German Autobahns or the Mountain section of the Isle of Man TT course.
The bike Ive been waiting for..... Thank you, Honda..
Honda finally got the CB right , looks amazing.
I usually dont like naked bikes but this one is cool. And it is a Honda, the best bike manifacturer out there.
I just bought one of these to replace my 2018 CB650F and I can't wait! Roll on Saturday.......
If only they made a 600cc version with the 2008 CBR600RR engine, same styling, keep the price at 8000ish, that would be perfect.
KissMyAsthma while I love my 2008 600RR, a 600cc engine just hasn't got the torque you'd want in a naked bike
Yeah seems the 790 the Duke is going to be using may be the sweet spot.
a 750-800 please.
Same bike with 350cc less wont reduce the price with 4000,- engine production cost for a 600 engine is only slighty less.
I agree, i wish they can give same shape on 600
Doesnt need modification or customization just look cool the way it is. Unlike other bike

This thing could change me close in any category to my Aprilia Tuono V4...maybe less electronic issues but that would be the only thing.
how many miles per gallons do you get?
We need a comparison to the fz09/mt10.
I'd like to see a similarly styled ~75hp one that can be easily restricted to comply with the A2 licence. Much like the MT07.
What is the deal with the plus model that I cannot find any information on? Is this available and if so where?
Same here mate
Super nice looking bike! :)
Wow, 12 grand, that's a lot of dough for a street naked that's based on an old engine.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Why go through all the trouble of designing an all new engine when they can just improve on what they've already got?
And how much is a Harley ? and how old is that design - yet people buy them,, each to there own.
