Here in the US this bike has not sold that well. Most younger people claim it’s boring compared to others in the price range. For me I think this bike is perfect for an older rider that enjoys Hondas reliable history. I think this bike looks like ART, stunning looks. Your comment about the power being linear is on the money. I think this bike is great for the road as well.
Maybe it’s my age, but I think it’s the best looking jap naked period! My local dealer also told me they are a slow seller. I guess I’m just not hip enough anymore
I really like your reviews. Gives a good sense of what the bike feels like without getting over technical. Bit like two blokes in the pub chatting about the bike. Cool.
I test rode one of these days after passing my DAS course which was on an MT07. Very easy to ride, if like you mentioned you're respectful of the power it will treat you right. I loved it and is one of the bikes that is top of my list for potential purchases.
Great video! As an aspiring biker who’s been looking at the 2023 cb1000r black edition a lot lately, this video has inspired me even more to get one. Thank you and good luck
Thanks for the upload, great review. I’ve put almost 15,000 km on my black edition so far and it’s a great bike. Looks better in person too. The weakest part of the bike to me was the rear shock so I swapped for an ohlins and it rides very nice now. The fit and finish and ride of this bike is superb.
It a pleasure, thanks really glad you liked the review 👍 Nice you have have put some great miles on it!! I completely agree, it really is a top quality built motorcycle, and I am sure it will go on for ever! Bet it rides nice with the Ohlins 👌
Black Edition is one the best looking bike out there.Got mine 2021 and got heads turning all the time.Got ride the exhaust and mirros.Ride safe out there Bros.
I saw a guy selling on of these on marketplace recently. He purchased it and resold it after a week - he said it was deeply terrifying - he was going back to slower bikes. This leads me to believe, it’s not for everyone. Naked muscle bike for the win
@@redangrevival I've been riding 250s and recently a 750 - purchased myself a Honda Blackbird CBR1100XX and wow - what a machine. I'm glad I took the time to work on my skills first! I'd never recommend a 1000 for any newer riders. I do love these CB1000R - it think its a looker and the naked bike is super!
Cheers. O really! Nice, yup totally agree. A great bike and the finish really is top quality 👍 Don't think I would own one myself either! Need that torque of the 1200 Bonneville 😉
Nice piece of kit there Angus imagine touring on that ,she's a beauty no doubting that there's just to many to choose from these days .enjoyed your review good watch : )
👍 Thanks glad you liked it. Yup a lovely machine, a little bit too much on the sporty side for me! Would be great fun touring once you have got to the twisties!!
Did you know that Honda have designed the exhaust to work with the engine , there's a valve that opens up when you go faster , this affects the back pressure. You put a different exhaust on to make it louder it will make the bike performance in certain situations not so good.
Yes that is a good point and I think a lot of manufacturers do this. However if you get a good exhaust made by a reputable company then they should take this into account and tune the exhaust for the specific bike and engine etc... But yes can be problem with some exhausts
I enjoyed the review, when I was waiting for my NT 1100, which I luckily got 2 weeks ago, I considered one of these Black Editions, I am glad I waited for the NT, because, like you say at the beginning, I find the CB a little bit intimidating. Also, the CB isn´t the sort of bike you should consider when you want a NT, but it would have shortened my waiting time. Maybe one day I will try one. Here in Germany the Black Editions go away quite quickly. Have fun and ride safe.
Hi, thanks so much really glad you liked the review 👍 Congratulations on getting your NT1100, I rode it a while back and thought it was brilliant. Enjoy! Yes a very different bike the CB, a lot sportier than NT! I think you made the right decision. Cheers
i got this bike 3y ago (the pre-facelift version) as my very first bike ever, it's been a peach... you can keep it in limited power mode should you feel intimidated i also keep mine at 2/3 Power, just so i have some "upgrade" available if maybe one day i feel like i am getting bored of my bike (still plenty of power to give you the endorphine as the revs near 10k)
@@jaromor8808 wow that is a very nice and powerful bike for a first bike!! As you say though having such adjustability in the power modes is great. If you have the restraint to keep it in a low power mode 😂 A beautiful and quality motorcycle
@@redangrevival I had my eyes on cb650r, but i would have to wait for 3-4 more months till september. Also cb650r is small for me, cb1000r might be still but it is a bit better.
@@redangrevival yes keeping it below 6000 rpm it is calm, smooth and easy to maneuver, but get it above 6000 and travel on one wheel if thats your thing too!
Nice review got one of these bikes non tft/quick shifter really like looks, reliability great but when u in 6th gear still feels like it's in 2nd! Can't justify selling yet but just need something bit softer in higher gears, on motways. Keeping eye on NT1100 or yamaha 900 tenere if it comes out.
👍 Thanks, glad you liked it. A quality motorbike this, very well built. I definitely recommend trying the Honda NT1100 if you are after a calm/relaxing ride but that also has great handling 👌
I would go with the Z900RS, just love the retro style and overall build quality of the design. However with a top quality modern inline 4 engine 👌 Cheers
I know you didn’t ask me but I have both and they are both fantastic bikes. They are both modern UJM type motorcycles with the kawi classically styled and the Honda modern styled. The Honda is a faster bike, sharper handling, better brakes not that the kawi is bad at any of these but the Honda is slightly better. The z900rs makes it’s power a little lower too so it’s a calmer ride where the Honda is a little more aggressive, especially above 6000 rpm. The kawi always gets attention when riding, I’ve put 65,000 km on mine and I get stopped everytime I ride it with somebody asking about it. There is a better aftermarket for the kawi too, the Honda is not conducive to doing any mods, no ecu flashes available, can’t even change the gearing without error messages. The fit and finish is a little nicer on the Honda but with the higher price tag it kind of makes sense. Either way both are fantastic and kind of fulfill the same role but it slightly different ways, a little more calmly or a little more manic.
Unfortunately, with that motorcycle, if you want more sound of it, you have to change the entire exhaust just putting a slip on will not change the sound at all. inside that big bread box there are big butterfly valves that open up after 6K they designed to keep the motorcycle quiet around homes and town
Hey, the 1290 Duke is definitely noticeably more powerful and immediate lower down torque!! Not to say the CB is a slow bike, because it definitely is not. The CB is a much smoother power delivery from the 4 cylinder engine. The 1290 Duke is aggressive power!! Hope that helps
@@redangrevival Very helpful, thanks very much! I'm inbetween the 890 Duke R and the CB1000r at the moment. Both seem like very solid machines. The 1290 is a bit more than I'd like to spend right now!
@@theguitarhero898 No worries at all. Good luck with your choice. To be honest I would have the 890 over the 1290!! I would get into trouble on the 1290 haha
