  • This video is to assist Honda Odyssey owners in the process of dealing with a turn signal issue. The vans seem to have an issue where you hear a "turn signal sound" when your turn signal isn't on. From my reading on various forums and eventually seeking to solve the problem with my own van, I was motivated to offer information to others trying to find a fix. There are two possible causes, the turn signal switch or the turn signal/flashers relay. I show where to find each and how to get to them.

You're a lifesaver! Had run-on clicking sound under dash after using turn signal for my 02 Odyssey. Relay only cost $10 at parts store but simply could not follow the written instructions provided by others on Internet. As they say a picture speaks a thousand words, and your very informative video clearly shows how to perform this difficult extraction of the fuse box to reveal relay on the other side. Kudos!

Yipee and thanks! Just finished the surgery and the car has no more clicking. Turns out there was gunk on the connection and once cleaned off it was right as rain. At 3:14 i had trouble with the tabs, I couldn't push them in. Wedging a thin flat head screwdriver between the plastic walls from the top did the job perfectly, thanks again for saving me mullah!

Excellent video! The Turn Signal Switch in my 2004 Odyssey EXL shorted out and melted. I purchased a new one at my local Honda Dealer. Would not have figured it out without your help!!!

Thanks. We had a clicking sound even when the turn directional was off. I took off the turn signal, took it apart and cleaned the inside. That worked no more clicking. Thanks again.

    Wow! Wasn't expecting that ending.
I recently replaced my headlights and backup Lights with LEDs on my wife's 2011 Honda crv and even though I did NOT replace the turn signal Lights with LEDs, my turn signals DO hyperflash and I cant find a relay for it ANYWHERE, and even though the vehicle here is not a crv, it is possible this video may just have told me where it is if there is one, at least it's worth a look.
    Thank you

Great advise..fixed the incessant clicking by cleaning up the switches on the signal arm box..broke some of the clips the cover though...oh well..nothing a little 200 mile an hour tape(black,I'm not a rube)won't fix...now my 16 year old can learn to drive on this 2000 Odyssey master piece. Thanks for the vid.

Thank you so much. My relay was out. I have spent $7.99 for the relay and changed it in 15 minutes. As you said it is in a tricky location but not un reachable. Thanks again.

Thank you for this video! My 2005 Odyssey recently developed this symptom: when I am in a left-turn-only lane and waiting for the green light for a while, then my left turn signal sometimes just dies completely. Moving switch up or down doesn't help to bring it back to life. At the same time right turn signal works, but left is dead. And hazard button enables only the right turn signal while the left is still dead. It happened to me again today. The funny thing is the left turn signal started working after my car was parked for a couple of hours. I want to check the relay and possibly simply replace it. I'm not 100% sure but I think in my 2005 Odyssey relay layout may be slightly different.

@@saleemers Unfortunately, not yet. I just ordered turn signal relay. It should come tomorrow and I'll install it and see if it helps. I will make a quick video on my channel tomorrow in the evening. I hope it helps. If relay won't help then I'll order the whole turn signal assembly.

hi there, I have a question. What could it be, when blinkers & hazard lights are not working? I replaced the relay switch already. There is no sound, not even a clicking.

You have to remove the fuse box to get at serviceable components on the back side???

The problem I had was my relay would not stop clicking when the switch was in the center position. I opened the switch as shown in the video. I found a thin piece of grease with metal shavings that was creating an arc between two of the contacts. I wiped the grease off put the switch back together and the problem stopped.

Great video tutorial -- thanks so much for creating and posting it! At one point, you mention the small plastic block that was the problem for your signal - it is mine as well. Actually, the metal contact bars have little springs under them and the contact bar should "float" if you push down on it, and bounce back up. What did you do with yours -- or, where did you get a replacement contact\block\spring?
