I apologize if the quality isn't the best. This is the first tutorial I've tried to edit on my own and I have 0 editing skills. I also tried to keep it as short as possible for everyone since it's only a 30 ish second run.

I don't have a PS5 but I have still watched every one of the Astro's Playroom speedruns. They're fun to watch and it is amazing how much creativity exists for some of the runs (ex. double hover to skip entire sections). This tutorial was very well done. I felt like - if I had a PS5 - I could do this myself (with an insane amount of practice)!

You are so goated, thanks for uploading this. It took me a while to get the first double hover- getting the height is trickier than it appears. So satisfying once I got it, was able to get a 35 hope to get a 34 or 33 soon
Double hover every time but cannot reach the other side. Can’t tell what I’m doing wrong
i wouldnt know without looking, but if you're getting double hovers reference the video and see if you are falling too far. most times when I failed i lost too much height

Currently #1820 in the world... the double hover jump is ESSENTIAL to reach the top 10k in any of the four foot races. Gotta get it right!!!

About 9 months ago i found you now i can tie and even beat you want to see more astro though😢
Is the double hover even possible still. Some are saying its been patched out
i honestly havent touched the game in forever, Ive heared it was only patched out from the main game while the speed levels were untouched.

I can’t for the life of me make it to the first ledge doing the double hover
You most likely aren't hovering fast enough after your punch. It sounds like you're losing height during the double hover.
I tried over 1000 times hover punch hover. Never reached the second one after a punch. :(
I can’t get the first double hover. I do the punch hover spin then I hover but then I’m just short. Can anyone help?
I would have to see a recording to fully help. Most times when i fail the first double hover its because I lost too much height and would be just short of making it
Don't know if you still respond to comments on this video but, i have a problem with the double hoover where sometimes after the first punch he doesn't hoover but just jumps and then there's no way of still making it. Don't know what im doing wrong here, help would be nice haha.
I’ve been practicing this for over 2 hours now and I give up, at least for today. This level has completely broken me. I just cant reliably get the double hover, and when I do I can get up the side of the mountain to get to the rising ice platforms. The couple times I got there because it took me too long to climb the mountain side they rode before I got there and the knocked me out of the air and killed me. One time I did actuslly get to the final set of platforms and I landed on the platform. I also struggle with getting up on the grassy vine area off the bouncy things. They don’t seem to bounce me high enough, maybe I’m not doing smth right, idk. gave it a peep and highlighted some key points for you that I noticed. Try to compare those sections with what I did and note the differences

ive tested this recently and unless theyve done an update within the last 2 weeks the double hover will still work. it just takes some practice to get consistently

There has only been a small change to this route shown. Im not familiar with it, but Im letting family use my ps5 since they cant get a hold of one

in short. to double hover, you punch while falling off of a ledge and then hover. If you do this correctly you will be ending a punch animation and then go into a hover animation all while falling off of a ledge. this will allow you to spin and hover a second time in midair. Think of this as replacing your jump and instead you are hovering the first time

As impressive as this is. It’s cheating and not doing the run as intended. Ruining leaderboards for those intending on playing the game properly.
Guess you just gotta get good if you wanna be higher up there.

Cheats imply that I'm doing something that isn't capable on the hardware straight out of the box.
lmao, there arent even any glitches other than double hover, which the devs intentionally kept in the speedrun levels even when they patched it out of the main game. it's literally just good movement and timing of jumps
In possible to get under 45 seconds without the cheat spots
