It actually looks to me like for some reason one of the yoshi got an extra brick, so the others got three in the same place, but there was an extra for the last yoshi, that happens again to the others which is what leads to them falling out of sync
They really should set a rule for where the bricks should drop in, so you can say the game isn't random at all when comparing between players, since everything randomised is pre-determined. I think the bricks should drop in the column with the least blocks, and if multiple have the same amount, it should be the one furthest to the left, and only allowed to drop 1 brick block per column per drop. That would avoid it getting out of sync.
43:42 I'm pretty sure what happened was the game thought both of them won and the game was making the camera move to the top and bottom at the same time which caused the camera to break 45:00 same goes for here
16:50, I think since there's so many inputs, and each time you make an input; it has its own chance to desync. Thus, there's a lot more times to get a desync, that's why it was different.
"That's so weird. That's so weird". I literally laughed at this part. Like how is it weird if you want them to tie? That would be even weirder if you failed a tie.
Rockin raceway seems to randomize it when you all reach the end, if you look at them crossing the line before the replay, they’re all in sync and all perfectly aligned, but the replay gives them slight variations, so I think it’s safe to assume they randomize who wins if it’s a tie
I'm guessing there's probably always a delay but the horse race is so incredibly precise due to slow movement and and careful watching that it has no leeway for ties.
My assumption is that buttons are much simpler to sync up than analog inputs For a button, there's only 2 states: pressed or not pressed. Whatever is syncing the controller is guaranteed to have a slight delay, regardless of how it's handling it (if it's software on your PC emulating a Switch controller, for example, then there's guaranteed to be desync. If it's single threaded, then it can only have 1 player controlled at a time, so if it updates a player every 1/100th of a millisecond, that would mean there can be around 3/100th of a millisecond of delay from one character to the next. If it's multi threaded, then there's no way for the software to track when each player has accepted an input, as it's never going to be exactly the same time discrepancy between them), however these will always happen at roughly the same time (however it is perceptible to the Switch, which would explain red getting destroyed by blue in the Bob-Omb minigame, but it's close enough together that it wouldn't really matter for something like the Poker minigame, which isn't measured faster than milliseconds anyways) Analog, however, is much more complicated. It could be pointing in any direction, and at any intensity. One update for player 1 could have the left stick pointed forward 10 degrees, and then an update for player 2 at roughly the same time could have the left stick pointed forward 12 degrees

@@seancassidy4190 All characters ar always being controled, either of a player or a computer. I ment that he didn´t say they were controled with the same contoller.😑
For the mecha marathon, there's probably variation in the animation to make any close finishes seem more dynamic and hyped, but in the background in the hard coding the numbers are already decided and the game already knows the winners based on the input. It's just a matter of presenting the winners in an exciting fashion for the audience/player
For me, by far the most interesting thing was the clear bias for the single player in tug of war. With the face lift minigame, will centering all the cursors at one of the corners first yield a more even result? Also with the mpiq block puzzle game, The garbage blocks that are thrown in when combos are made are thrown in random columns so it disrupts some and sets others up for bigger payoffs.
Awesome video! On Tug of War I think it depends on what side you’re on to determine which way you have to spin. I’ve lost so many games bc I didn’t figure it out until it was too late 💀
So not sure if you knew this but the opposing side in tug of war has to control the stick in the opposite direction as the Bowser player. This is coming from someone who's been playing games for over 15 years, starting with the N64 at age 4, to the Switch Superstars Mario Party at age 20. THIS IS FURTHER CONFIRMED when the yoshis were seeking away from the cheep cheep boy the mines seemed to spawn at random distances, they can still ALL BE DODGED if the dodge button is pressed at the exact same proper moment!
the tetris style one at the end seems interesting, it seems all given blocks are the same, but if you look at it, the placement of the triple bricks is random when they come down, which then causes the hand auto-grabs to also change and vary in speed due to drop block distance from the hand/closeness to other blocks when entering the board.

11:25 This is because as the game checks the left side buttons before checking the right side buttons, so the right side buttons override theresult, which means the right side buttons dictate the direction the bobombs will go
Fun fact: the reason it’s different is because: the game is coded to say that everyone tied with 0 points, but it’s not programmed for everyone to win, because it’s coded for tied wins that’s why it will say everyone won, however, the one I play is Mario Party 9, so when there’s is a tie, even if everyone wins, that would just make everyone roll a dice for an automatic place

Love the remakes of these mini games! Really great times back then
