- Hey everyone, today I’m going to show you how to replace the clutch slave cylinder on a Honda S2000. I want to note that the clutch slave cylinder doesn’t normally fail on the Honda S2000. I’m simply replacing my clutch slave cylinder because I just deleted the clutch delay valve.

I literally just did this yesterday. One thing I noticed in the video is the mention of the crush washers on the banjo bolt, mine didn't have them installed.
Whoops. Everything worked as normal but now I feel as if I need to dive back under the car to install them.
Great video as usual, bro.
It is possible that your crush washers are bonded to the clutch fluid line so you might be ok. You may not have even noticed them. Crush washers are definitely important though!
Thanks
Like all of your videos, straight to the point and easy to follow. Thanks 👍
You’re welcome
One of the best instructional videos I've seen in a while!
Aw thanks man
Ooo Now in 4k! New camera who dis? lol Thank you for the vid brotha.
I'd recommend using dot4 fluid for the clutch and brakes. Definitely a noticeable difference over dot3 when driving more aggressive the pedals won't start to feel spongy when doin the dance. Awesome videos as always looking forward to the next video. Happy new year!!!
Won't make a different for the clutch fluid since the clutch fluid doesn't get hot but I completely agree with using dot4 fluid for the brakes. Thanks!
What lubrication do you recommend to use for re greasing the clutch slave cylinder, and where to get it thanks!
Would you recommend replacing the slave cylinder if the clutch master cylinder is leaking? Mine is leaking and Im gonna replace the master cylinder but not sure if i should replace the slave cylinder. Great video!
No. Slave cylinder rarely ever goes bad
@@DIYGuysvideo Ok sounds good, thank you for the quick reply! Your videos have taught me a ton about s2ks and what to do for mine.
Very informational content 👍🏽
Thanks
Nice video! Btw, did you remove the delay valve? I spent 20-30 min just to take a snap ring off. I heard drilling is easier method.
Yes sir. Next video 😛
Thanks for another great S2000 DIY video
Did your slave cylinder rod have any irregular wear on the end that presses against the throw out bearing arm ?
Some others mention cleaning a burr off of the end
Mine did not since I’ve already cleaned up the rod end in a separate video I’ve produced called squeaky clutch pedal fix.
Okay I guess I had actually learned from your squeaky clutch pedal video
Could you tell me if it's OK to do it that way post-installation of new brake hoses?
I don't see why not.
@@DIYGuysvideo Oh...
I just saw I commented on the video of the clutch and not on the brakes one...
I replaced them both but my clutch still wouldn’t gain pressure when trying to bleed the clutch
Hi my slave cylinder is really hard to push back in where the rod connects, the grease looks all dried up..is it time to replace a new one? There are no leaks just dried grease looks like clay help.ty
I'm having the same issue, slave cylinder is super hard to push back in. Did you find a solution?
@diyguysvideo The service manual shows Urea grease on the ball of the cylinder, but another type of grease for inside of the accordion boot. Do you have any suggestions?
After bleeding your clutch , could your clutch feel slightly lighter ?
It shouldn’t unless there is air in the system.
DIYGuys I followed your gravity bleed process idk how air would have gotten into the system , idk
Maybe due to the fact the car wasn’t jacked on all 4 wheels which could cause an air pocket ?
Only way would be through the master cylinder if it was empty at some point.
DIYGuys I don’t recall letting it drop to empty but in the case it did what would be my best option ? Pump and hold the clutch pedal and bleed ?
