I love this sound its a very Raw, yet very Melodic, takes me back to down by the River and Cowgirl in the Sand- Thanks for all your hard work and sharing!
Wow, thanks Neil. I wil definitely check this out. Just a shout out to tell you that I started listening to you when I was 15. My highschool boyfriend was in a band that played Buffalo Springfield tunes among others. They were good enough to have gigs every weekend. Your voice and tunes have aways always touched me very deeply in my soul. Thanks again.
This is my favourite NY album, totally underrated, some great long songs, She's always dancing, Ramada inn, Walk like a giant and this one, fabulous music to get lost in.
Now THIS is stoner rock. Music you can get lost in. A feeling of sadness when the song ends, because you were enjoying yourself too much to even notice the passage of time.
after first minute: really good after second minute: great after fifht minute: still great after ninth minute: that's awesome song after twentieth minute: my gods, I'm still listening after last second: masterpiece! thank gods for Neil Young and Crazy Horse
My late friend Dave passed away the day this CD was released .He was a huge Neil Young fan and this song reminds me of him and the rest of his friends said the same thing when were at his memorial service tonight. RIP Dave..you are missed.
Make me wanna get a hip hop haircut now! Neil Young thank you so much for a life time of Great music. I’ve been listening to you since I left Sugar Mountain.
At home during the Corona Virus bs... watchin' and listening to Neil and the boys is a great way to reflect, meditate, relax and be lifted up with this awesome, timeless music. Life is good!
I couldnt imagine,,,,,,,,He is the man......and with the boys its just like the old days.........boys doing what they do best........play/.......I am glad you enjoyed it so much....I seen Zep in 77 and still to this day I would take Neil and Neil and his band any day..........he is about all I listen to....I met him in 2010..in Dallas........badass is all that can come to my mind except I sapped out .......but he was so sweet to me, even through the tears.....DEB.
Interesting, you talk about meeting him. I've had lots of dreams where I get to meet him, and in the dream he is just like a normal person, wants to meet me, shake my hand, know who I am, and wants to know why I like his music so much. It is such an incredible disappointment to wake up, and know that it was only a dream. I've seen him five times live, but I would still love to see him and the horse play up close, in the front row.
This is a classic Neil and Crazy Horse record. Great all the way through! The bottom end was so heavy at Madison Square Garden the guy next to me had to leave.....he was getting sick! Now, that is a Crazy Horse moment! Long Live the Horse!
I'm about in the middle of Neil's biography. And let me say, its given me a whole new appreciation for his soulful music. He's been with me since 6th grade, and I'm still a huge fan.
Neil and Crazy horse played for 3 hours straight at the Plenary Melbourne, They played there hearts out, loud fast and passionate like it was the first time they had played these songs. Like teenagers in older bodies. They toured through the end of 2012 and have 30 gigs ahead of them in Europe and Neil is now 67 ''Far from lazy'', they are a Juggernaut ! Melbourne concerts were amazing! I am glad that I saw the Melbourne gigs through my eyes. May the 'Horse be with you'!
A great creative artist, musician, songwriter, arranger and more...giver to worthy causes such as Farm Aid help to bring respect, appreciation and protection for our polluted, poisoned, plundered and hurting planet...thanks
Neil's albums are so diverse. To me, that says it all about the man's talent. Whether it's "On the Beach" or "Psychedelic Pill" or "Harvest," I can listen to it all day.
How about his 'surfing' music with the Squires? Even fewer words than in the Pill. His music is like from Hank to Hendrix. It spans the entire spectrum of music.
Im going out to buy this album, I didnt have the time to get in to it when it first came out, and I have a feeling not many people did....... This album is totally underrated. AMAZING ALL The SONGS are Masterpeices!!! DUDE, what the FUCK! This WHOLE FUCKING ALBUM!!!!! SERIOUSLY! I JUST BOUGHT IT!!!!! I am put through a fucking Natural High trip!!!!
"Worried that you can't hear now me now, feel the time I took" "Dreamin bout the way you feel now, when you hear my song..." Most of my life is filled with nothing but good, good memories, while listening to Neil's music. Then came a time when the music was nothing but torture. I couldn't listen to Neil for about five years. It hurt too much. And no other musician could fill that void. I knew I was beginning to heal, when I could listen again. I'm drifting back as well. Thank you.
After 2.54, most popular tunes are running out of steam. By five minutes, Neil and Crazy Horse are just getting into their stride. Marathon music. Love it.
Neil Young is the boss of every type of music. One of the most creative and assured singers there's ever been. To have created such great music for so many years and also stayed at the forefront of music evolution. That tells you all you need to know about how unique he is,,,,,,and how unique Crazy Horse is. A true artist who, with Crazy Horse creates music you can't ignore and you can't stop listening to. If ever there were musical geniuses, he would definitely be one of them.
From a Flower Child, Hippie ect... the 60's and 70's Neil Young is one of the best musicians to tell the history of the greatest decades of our lives in music! And he is still going!
This is a perfect driving song, just perfect. Turn up the volume, open the sunroof or lower the roof, if you're driving a convertible. 27-plus minutes of pure bliss!
i was lucky to see neil at hard rock cafe Isleta New Mexico my daughter said it was so awesome to see me jammn to uncle neil she said it was a moment she would always cherish and so will I thanks you crazy horse with neil young best concert ive ever seen.
Thank you Neil and the Horse for being so generous with your music. When you four guys play, the standard is set. Les Paul would be blown away with what you achieve with Old Black.
Thisuemi incredible piece of art. Thanks Neil & others. . . Cheers. I Remember warm summer night 2013 ...and this is,/was well made. I listen that often. Greets from Finland for all. Kaisaniemi, Fin, 081413...
Thank you oh great spirit of sound...for allowing someone like Neil to create such timeless pieces of art as this song by him. If not for sound, we would not have this; one of many marvelous spirits worthy of praise in my book. For none are more or less equal than the other truly. Thank you Neil Young and Crazy Horse!
oocha! going to see Neil for the first time in Glasgow next month!!cant believe it !! been a fan for over 40 yrs! (think its time!!)excited 60 yr old(well nearly!) Hx
Yes, Neil Young is often the same music with the same sound, same kind of melodies same chords suites but still sounds very good. He went bad in the 80s when he released albums like "Landing on Water" which were really awful with 80s synth sounds and cold production. Then he came back to reality, to himself and HIS music.
It is so good to finally get another good album from Neil Young & Crazy Horse! 90 minutes worth of listening:-) I totally love this guy and his soulmates!
This song is epic, Neil always has been and always will be the man. I love the dreamy jams he and crazy horse put together on this album. Driftin back into that state of mind. Psychedelic Pill is the shit
Thanks, Neil! Thanks, Crazy Horse! You guys have provided so many inspiring and enlightening moments to so many of us over the decades, and I'm SO grateful that you're still providing more.
The sound, the chemistry between Ralf,,Billy, Pancho and Neil is such a unique grouping of elements that Crazy Horse will always sound so good to it's listeners. Matured yes, aged Hell No!!!! sound as good today as 40 years ago, if not better then ever. Love these guys!
Now I’m drifting back some 50 years. And thanks for putting a good word for our Navy when you we’re here. My father was a fifties frogman, and hearing a few boo’s wasn’t cool. You said something about the men and women defending our country, ending with something like,” I don’t know? “ and a bigger applause. Just the way it should be for those that serve. Thanks for all of the years, and all of the memories.
THANK YOU NEIL YOUNG! METICULOUSLY DONE! YOUR IMAGINATION IN THIS "CHASE OF A DREAM" VIDEO REMINDS ME OF THE BETTER TIMES IN LIFE...SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this video. Funny how great songs can also inspire great paintings. And in my view this is one of Neil's greatest, totally hypnotic and far-reaching. The established British artist Chris Gollon loved 'Driftin' Back', played it over and over in his studio, then read about the famous dinner in 1922 when Proust, Picasso, Joyce, Stravinsky were all invited with very mixed results. Neil's great song and that dinner gave him the idea to put some of the greatest self portrait painters all at one table, and he called it 'Driftin' Back (after Neil Young)' ...worth checking it out
Great song! It really does grow on you throughout the 27+ minutes. Going to see Neil and The Horse this evening in Fairfax, VA. I've been going to his concerts (with and without CH) since the 70s, and have been following him since the Buffalo Springfield days. Never disappointed! Can't wait!
"It's in my head. That's why you don't have to worry when you lose friends. `Cause they're still in your head. Still in your heart." Neil Young "Journeys"

It breaths fresh through the 70's heavy jam theme and from beginning with the known Neil grove toward the smoothness of lasting comfort of a rich song and carrying you all the way with a lasting freshness to the end when you say, " yeah, that's it cool " .
My wife goes to bed...I sneak into my study.,decide on Stones,Pearl Jam, M83 etc...the list is endless...Then I think can I risk another 27 minutes of NY.....its hypnotic, and yes, I succumb

Yes, I second that. Long may he live. Love Neil Young
We don't see the time when we heard, we can during 90 minutes and more without pay attention
A sublime masterpiece...legend NY!!!
I think I was about 13 mins in before I decided it's a masterpiece by a master musician/writer with an equally masterful band.
All true measurement Lost in A battle long time ago
it's not long enough. Once you start it, you hope it will never end
My late friend Dave passed away the day this CD was released .He was a huge Neil Young fan and this song reminds me of him and the rest of his friends said the same thing when were at his memorial service tonight. RIP Dave..you are missed.
One of the best songs in the past 20 years. Amazing guitar work. Thank you, Neil, for just being you for all of us.
You said it. Try to awaken the naive to the plandemic and insidious reason for it. All the best to you and yours.

One of the shortest half hour tunes ever 😊🙏❤️🍀
I'm about in the middle of Neil's biography. And let me say, its given me a whole new appreciation for his soulful music. He's been with me since 6th grade, and I'm still a huge fan.

This is how music sounds when you are hearing a masterpiece......
Back in the day i remember wishing that some of the great songs would have been longer...my wish has been fullfilled, thanks Neil.
A great creative artist,musician,songwriter,arranger
and more...giver to worthy causes such as Farm Aid
help to bring respect, appreciation and protection for our
polluted,poisoned,plundered and hurting planet...thanks
If someone were to play this song i would've thought it came out in the early 70's. The world changes but Neil stays Neil! Love you forever man!
I like how he opens the song as a folky ballad and then unleash the chaos.
Unleash the chaos, I like that! For years I've tried to describe his playing style to others, I never could, until now.
Classic journey style music and song. It's like a upbeat version of ON THE BEACH.
This song has nearly every genre except the kaka ones in it...
Then he unleashes the chaos! Great comment. I read it a while back and whenever I listen to Neil I hear it again. AWESOME description.
Definitely in the top five best ever comments on Neil's musical genius.
Neil Young is always at his best with Crazy Horse.
Inclined to agree. No matter how long these songs last, they never outstay their welcome.
Amen
Damn,right!!
Better song writing with Buffalo Springfield

Neil…A genius piece of music. Retrospective yet forward looking. Thanks for letting us inside to feel what you have laid down!

27 minutes and never a dull moment ....
YES
that's a bright comment
Yes, Neil Young is often the same music with the same sound, same kind of melodies same chords suites but still sounds very good.
He went bad in the 80s when he released albums like "Landing on Water" which were really awful with 80s synth sounds and cold production. Then he came back to reality, to himself and HIS music.
You're wrong. "Landing On Water" is an excellent album with good songs.
WTF. He shouldn't never release this dross. However no one is perfect. Fortunately NY released more good stuff than bad one.
Yes, thank you Neil, your voice is a comfort to me!
Nice discover. This was my first listen on this song, I played at 10.00pm, repeated and repeated until 6.00 am

Holy crap, I have listened to this album for years now, and only today I realized this song is 27 minutes long. How did I never notice?
Cause it is really good!!!
Stoned perhaps? I was!!
Because of the electricity bill.
Now we talking... A masterpiece back in the days...
This song is epic, Neil always has been and always will be the man. I love the dreamy jams he and crazy horse put together on this album. Driftin back into that state of mind. Psychedelic Pill is the shit

The first minute is my favorite minute of the whole album. Good ol' acoustic Neil.
Unbelievably good, the guitar work is out of this world.
It breaths fresh through the 70's heavy jam theme and from beginning with the known Neil grove toward the smoothness of lasting comfort of a rich song and carrying you all the way with a lasting freshness to the end when you say, " yeah, that's it cool " .
So good I don't even know how to deal with it. What a gift for rock starved America. Amazing.
It touches the soul !
Beautiful
Yes indeed it does
I have to admit, I've never heard this before, I got Americana from that year but missed this..how utterly splendid
A legend and master guitarist. One of a kind who has provided so many great moments in my life. Thank you Neil!
