Will there ever be any other 66 year old guitar players in the world who will play with the intensity and passion that Neil does with this song, No Hidden Path. No, Bar None. This is as good as it gets, 27 minutes plus of pure ass-kicking grunge guitar, from the master. Another outstanding jewel on the endless list of masterpieces. This must be one of the most inspired performances Neil and his fellows gave. It's a "younger" one, but already nearly 13 years have gone by since. Still today he would make people listen up closely. He's such a gift.

I'll never forget watching this on the internet live back when I used to get stoned and I had one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life watching this performance. There are moments when the energy level is SO high here....it's just unbelievable.

I saw this live in RockWerchter and it blew me away. I was genuinely, absolutely mesmerised. I think i zoned out for 15 minutes. Such an absolutely stunning performance. I watch this video about once a year and it buzzes me every time.

Love how neil is just grooving away, oblivious to all, and just cooking with the boys. He's loving this particualr sound he's bleeding out of his guitar. When neil 1st heard the guys who would make up crazy horse, and was asked what he saw in those guys he replied "wide open spaces". That's why "down by the river" and "cowgirl in the sand" have nice long guitar riffing and of course on this song. but man, i've never seen/heard him go this long and you still want to hear another 27 minutes. Fuck! How about a whole concert, 2 plus hours, of just this song?
It is more than a song, it is an experience. Like a symphony or the Jimmy Hendrix Experience.

You can say what you want about some of the guitar gods like angus young, eddie van halen, eric clapton and others but they all end up at the bottom of the guitar rock god heap when Neil did this one.. it does not get any better..simply outstanding... uh...Neil Young is old rock. He was part of Buffalo Springfield in the late 60s and his best material was in the 70s. He's part of the era of Hendrix, Zeppelin, Deep Purple...he just hasn't faded away like they have.

At a Neil concert you take what you get, and if you don't get it too bad. If you do, it will be the best couple of hours of your life.
Around the 16th minute, Rick (bass) and Ben (guitar) might have started believing in the end....., but it only started all over..... Neil is the greatest artist ever (And of course Elvis). This is.
I prefer the term "grungy" to describe Mr. Young's attire. If only more artists shared Neil's sense...fashion or otherwise.

There are only two problems with this
1. Too many shots of the crowd (though this can be excused, as it was probably directed live, without the luxury of post-production.)
2. It is too short.
But we must be grateful for these two flaws. Because without these two imperfections, this would not be allowed to exist within the Universe.
