- Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share with you this beach swipe that I have been wanting to try forever! Cathleen, my dear friend, from @COZCreationsArt has been teaching this technique at Fluid Art Experience & Pourcon and I finally got to sit in for a little bit on here class at Pourcon. This video was part of the December Piggy Switcheroo where 26 RUclips artsts all participated in a video and technique swap to see if we could fool you. This was my video that was featured on @Sheleeart channel. I thought I would repost it here with my narration so that you could hear my process. I just have to say...this was such an enjoyable project to work on and I'm really looking forward to trying this again in the future.

TEXTURE! I love texture😁! It's so wonderful that you have fallen down the texture/mixed media rabbit hole. I was just telling Cathleen that once you start this journey, it's so hard not to add a little sumthin sumthin to every pour. This is such a beautiful piece, Tara! Your use of texture really made it come to life. I know your class is going to be great! It would definitely be at the top of my list if I could come to FAE. Absolutely gorgeous, Tara!!! I’d love to try one based off of Destin Florida for my adult son. We used to go there every year when he was young. I’d need to figure out colors of the water however because it’s more emerald, hence calling it the emerald coast. Any suggestions for a newbie?
Hi Susan! This is the first time i have attempted this type of pour so I’m a newbie myself…lol! As far as colors. I would start with a color that you see in the surface and add a little white or a little blue to change the color just slightly to different shades of that color. Like a turquoise green from Amsterdam and work from there. I hope this helps! 🙏🏻☺️❤️

This is beautiful! How do you seal a piece like this?
Hi Cathy! I use a spray varnish to seal it. I love Golden Archival Spray Varnishes. They spray on so evenly and coverage is excellent. I usually use 2-3 coats. ❤️🙂🙏🏻
