  • Dalat's Night Market is a great place to visit for a night out on the town, people watching, and STREET FOOD. Watch us try some awesome BBQ skewers, the famous "Dalat Pizza" which is more like a quesadilla, French-style bread with hot corn and soy milk, and some simple strawberries with sugar and syrup.
    The town of Dalat is located at 1,500m (5,000ft) above sea level. It's a smaller town compared to others, so there's not much to do in the evenings except visit the night market, eat some awesome local specialties, or hang around the many beautiful park areas.

    Left a part of my heart there in Da Lat...maybe my wife and I will retire there. Thank you for the great content, Cory.

      That's so great to hear! I loved our 2 day visit to Da Lat, it was one of those places that while you're there, you think to yourself "Hey, I think I could actually live here and be happy." hehehe

    The food looks so good. I wish you can just pass it through the screen for me to have a bit. Vietnamese food is becoming my favorite. It's fresh and they don't overcook it.

      hahaha One day we will be able to teleport food (amongst other things) right into our living rooms at the press of a few buttons! That would be great!!! Yeah, Vietnamese food has climbed my list of favorite foods rapidly since I've been living here. Thanks for commenting!

      You can do it, really, just do it! Save 10% of your income for a year, and you can probably buy a plane ticket to Vietnam and surrounding countries. It's cheap to travel and eat across Southeast Asia! In the meantime, I'm glad my videos can help you visit Vietnam vicariously. ^^

    These food markets in SG, Hanoi, Hoi An, Da Lat, Can Tho, Hai Phong and Da Nang seem like such a fun place for family, young friends/couples, and tourists. I see a lot of locals at these places too which is a good sign of community vibe at a reasonable prices. Since you live in Ha Noi and get your fair share of cold temperature, you probably don't appreciate Da Lat cooler climate but when I used to live in HCMC, man the people from HCMC love visiting Da Lat. Thanks again for the time you put into these videos Cory. Take care

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      Yeah, I love just hanging out with tons of other Vietnamese people. Everyone just loves chilling and relaxing together out in public.
      I totally appreciated the Da Lat climate, it was great to have 4 seasons in one day! We were in hot Nha Trang for 3 days before going to Da Lat, so it was a nice change to cool off. Hanoi gets cold, but it's different. I prefer to cold mountain air instead of cold humid air around Ha Noi. ^^
      That's so nice to be able to drive from Saigon to Da Lat whenever you want to. I'd love to have something like that... Sa Pa is just a bit too far to go there often. I went a few weeks ago and the nice temperatures reminded me of Da Lat.
      Thanks for commenting Minh! ^^

    Awesome, Cory. It's been 13 years since i've been to Dalat. I remember it got cold at night and since i was in a tropical country i didn't think I needed a jacket. I was wrong. That whole region, from Bao Loc to Dalat and north is very scenic.

    Did you enjoy the street food and market tour? Let me know what street foods were your favorite in the comments down below! Also, what's the highest elevation you've experienced (excluding airplane flights or skydiving)?
    For me, it was the summit of Mauna Kea mountain on the Big Island of Hawaii at 4,207 meters (13,795 feet). I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for almost 3 years. ^^

      It was 20K VND ($0.88 USD) for one. Yeah, you can probably eat 1 now and order 9 to go for your hotel room. hehehe
      Actually, when we left the market, we ordered a HUGE amount of skewers and snacks and beer and brought them back to our hotel room and watched some movies on TV. ^^

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад +3

      Yeah, you're right! Vietnamese food is very healthy and balanced. There are lots of kids who eat fast food these days, but most people will always default on Vietnamese food no matter what. Vietnamese consider any food not eaten at home, like street food pho, banh mi sandwiches, BBQ skewers, etc, as "fast food." And places like KFC, Lotteria, McDonalds, etc... are just American food. hehehe

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      I'm not sure. I've only been to Da Lat once, for 2 full days, in the beginning of April.
      I think it's nice all-year round, though. You get 4 seasons in one day, which is nice.
      During our two full days there, it was sooooo sunny, but the air temperature was nice and cool.
      And there's SO MANY FLOWERS everywhere! It's called "The City of Eternal Spring" for a reason. ^^
      I highly recommend Da Lat to anyone visiting Vietnam!

    Hello Cory a quick question have you run into Charlycheer I think she lives near you?

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      Yeah, I know Charly very well. She's a good friend of mine from when we both lived in Korea. We met back in 2014 there, and in 2015, we organized the SeoulTube event that year. Her house isn't close to mine, though. My old apartment was walking distance of her apartment, which was nice. These days, though, we're both so busy we haven't hung out much. She has a new full time job and I've picked up more hours at work as well. She's in some of my previous videos... have you seen her in them?

  • @meogia4518
    @meogia4518 6 лет назад

    Cory, tell me if I’m wrong but Korean strawberry 🍓 is better than the one in vn? bigger and sweeter in Korean?

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      I think they're about the same. The farmers selling the mountains of strawberries were the ones with the really large and juicy ones.
      The little cup snacks were with tiny, unsellable ones, with bruises, miscolored or misshapen, etc. The duds and runts of the harvest get used in those street food cups. ^^

    If you wonder why they put hot drinks into a glass, I think it'll make the taste better, drinking from glasses always give better taste, and the glasses could be used like a heater, as you know Da Lat is almost cold all around the years...

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      I can understand those reasons, but initially, it's just too hot to even hold. hehehe

    • @tienstiles3284
      @tienstiles3284 6 лет назад

      Feed The Cory yes, we usually don't drink that hot soy milk immediately, we often wait till it cool down a little bit while having a little chat. Viet people have slow drinking culture, we can eat fast, but always take time to drink when we go to café or just a street tea shop. If we can't drink slow we would just buy takeaways then bring to somewhere and sip😊

      You shouldn't worry about subscribers. Just make the content, and over time, your views and subs will go up.
      I think a lot of new channels always focus on views and subscribers, but that shouldn't matter.
      Just be yourself and share what your passionate about, and everything else will follow. ^^ Good luck!
