HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! This is the first "Techno" set I had ever heard back in 2003. Because of this set, I started DJ'ing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fast forward 17 years, I am still DJ'ing, live in Germany, and STILL LOVE Paul Van Dyk, Trance, Hardcore, HardTechno, and everything above 140BPM!!!!!!

This isn't Techno. This is Trance!
This isn't techno, it's trance. He's just playing above 140bpm. Different than his normal slower paced style producer albums. That's why I love old live PVD sets, they are fast paced higher BPM get your blood pumping sets, a nice change of pace.
I was born on the 16/09/2003 my dad brought me up with trance and I must say wow I remember him telling me about a set he heard by Paul Van Dyk a few days after I was born thank you RUclips this set is stunning.

It was the peak of trance for sure, late 90's/early 00's. I'm glad I was there. The electronic music scene has been the same since.

Holly *ucking *hit, I miss this sound soooooo much! Todays trance can't be compared to what has been played before 2005. This is pure and only trance and you can hate me as much as you can, but this is true true. This is the journey, the journey into the pure trance and PvD is the guide. Thx God I had the luck to be part of the PvD party in Prague 2003. I'll never forget it! Wish the oldschool party will come back, for us, who just cant stand the new production. These days I just listen to the psytrance, because you can find something similar with the feeling of the crowd I used to feel on old parties and the production is much more pure and not so comercial as is in trance. Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, to all of you who had the luck to experience the good old times of trance music :)

One of his best sets ever and that really is saying something, 2003 was magical and PVD provides an excellent ride for 3 hours in this set.

Great stuff. The sound quality is excellent.
Also, there's one or two mistakes in there - which is a good thing. A reminder of when DJing was actually a real skill and the sync button had never been heard of.

@@djmj12714e is right as Paul has already been using Serato scratch live. The first version.. I bought mine in 2004. But you were not forced to use the Sync option. I did not use it. Had a couple of online trance radio stations.

WOW...after 20 years this is the first Paul van Dyk set that moves me. It's still a little nervously paced but damn this is some nice solid mixing and an insane tracklist. And 4 hours long to boot. Thanks for uploading this.

I just listened to this set for the first time - got to see PvD 7 times in Chicago back around 2003-2007. Call myself lucky - this music is so much more driving than the melodic trance we hear these days.
