  • This video is the start of a series of videos I'll be producing to help educate both professional contractors and homeowners alike on tankless water heaters.
The tankless water heaters in this video are the part of the EZ Series tankless models from Noritz. Check out their website here: www.ezseries.noritz.com

Unfortunately, representation and Noritz tech support are lackluster in our market. We used to primarily do Noritz, but now we primarily do Navien or Rinnai. We still do some Noritz, but it's usually only for the top water connections, albeit the gas, condensate, and power are on the bottom. The top connections are a bonus; I know Bosch was doing that too. We've installed these EZ retrofit kits, and they are pretty slick. If you read through their venting sections in the installation manual, you can do it with most tankless water heaters now. Centrotherm makes all the vent kits for chimneys and existing B-Vent (as long as there isn't a bunch of turns or screws protruding through).

Holy crap, looks like a cluster in the inside compared to navien and Rinnai, hell it seems more tight inside than a rheem tankless.

I'm considering a tankless water heater, currently I have a 40 Gal electric tank. We don't have Nat Gas or Propane hooked up, our whole house is electric. what's your recommendation? Stay with tank or upgrade to tankless? How efficient are electric tankless? Any videos on electric tankless?

Do those units have a self cleaning feature built in for hardwater build up? Our natural gas bill raised substantially and what would be the cost comparison be to a tank unit energy cost wise?

They do not. I think AO Smith / Tagaki might be the only one that does integrated ones. Several scale guard options are available, though you can install them before the unit.

As I remarked on an earlier video, I use electric in Florida… however my wife and I are moving to Alaska this year so these videos are important and helpful to me. I’m a new subscriber and haven’t seen but only two of your videos so if there’s a video on electric tankless water heaters you’ve made please reply Yes and I’ll search for it.
    Thank you.
