In this video I unbox the new Alias Pro from Steelseries. I also go into detailed review of their Sonar Software that is part of the GG app which you can download for free.
I then do a side by side comparison of the audio quality with the same settings against the Elgato Wave 3 and the Yeti Blue Classic. I even mix in some audio captured off of an iPhone 14 so you can really hear the difference the microphone makes.
Does the Steelseries Alias Pro hold up against the competition at this price? I really think the secret to it all is the Sonar software and it's free and can be used with any of XLR or USB mics.

Really great comparison. Still love the combo of recording with my Blue Yeti and doing the audio cleanup with Audacity. But that GG editor looks super intuitive and great for people looking for a one-stop shop.

Would you try pluging the mic to other mixers? Id think it would be interesting to see how it sounds with like an elgato xlr or a zoom mixer

I would but I’m small / hobbyist and I don’t have all those mixers laying around. It’s a great idea but beyond my means at the moment. Sorry.

The magic is not really the mic for the price, It is the bundle with the DUAL PC controller attached to it which can work with other mics. A shame SteelSeries doesn't sell that one by itself.

The software resets all of my settings to default every time there's a graphics driver update. I'm not sure how the two correlate, but apparently Nvidia driver updates don't play well with the software.
