Razer Seiren X Condenser Streaming Microphone Review

- Condenser microphone for desktop use from Razer, the Seiren X is a relatively small mic designed for streamers.
I'd recommend putting it on a boom arm so you can get it close to your mouth and far enough away from your keyboard. I don't like putting mics on desktop stands due to proximity and vibration.

I bought this mic and had 2 observations that might help people:
1) The newer versions of this mic comes with a right-angled usb cable, avoiding the bending mentioned in the review.
2) When I first plugged this in, Windows 10 decided to set the sample rate to the lowest setting, it took me a while to figure out why it sounded terrible.
good review, I'm pretty sure 99% of the people considering buying this mic wants to know how it sounds when using a loud clicky keyboard in the background at the same time.

Very concise but helpful review as always. Never get tired of that chill voice + music combo, enjoyable to watch. Mic seems great for it's price/target demographic, looks like a great affordable upgrade for someone doing a ton of streaming.

Please make a comparison video of the G203 and the rival 110. I really think alot of people(including me) would want to know how the sensor of the rival 110 (Truemove 1) competes against the Mercury of logitech,s G203. Nice video Zy! Keep up the great work!

Just got mine today. On sale too for like $70
A dynamic microphone is so much better when it comes to dealing with background noise. Kind of silly that a condenser microphone(which is notorious at picking up background noise) is aimed at streamers. A simple Shure sm58 would do a much better job than this one.
I will probably get this on my birthday on march 3rd. I heard about this mic in january and honestly, this mic probably fits me well. Thanks for reviewing it :p
I don't know why, but I recorded vocal sounds for Sleeper (a character) for a Quake 1 mod with my own voice with a Studio Blue Yeti. Just works better for a deeper dragon-like voice. Still working on it though.
Or.. you know.. a CAD GXL2400 for $30 that sounds same as that. You know.. from CAD.. The guys who made the CAD e100s?
Or if you wanna go pro, an MXL770 and a Uphoria UM2. A bit pricey but still under the retail of the Seiren X.

the high frequencies are a bit shill and the sibilance is pronounced in my opinion but a pop filter might help. sounds pretty good in all for the purpose it was designed.

Very amazing video Zy! I knew you for 3 weeks now and you're my favourite RUclipsr ever! You're just too good at what you're doing. But I want to ask you a question: on what DPI do you play your FPS games?
I'm disappointed that it sounds so bad for such an expensive microphone, I expected it to have a better range and be less noisey!
For that price you can buy a studio quality XLR mic with a DAC amplifier or buy a good quiality USB mic like the Apogee, Blue Yeti and countless other microphones.
Its a budget streaming mic, and its cheap. You just named high quality mics that are used for podcasts. No one understands a budget.

Nice video, are you going to review the new ModMic 5 by Antlion? I've noticed that most headsets have (pardon my french) shitty microphones. I wish companies like SteelSeries and Razer would pay more attention to microphone quality because I could find a better usb microphone from china for 5 bucks.

Hey look I'm early...anyways based off other reviews the razer siren was a campetitor for the blue yeti, but turned out to be the same exact thing. (This was commented before watching the video)

I am looking for a mouse with the sensor located in the front, just like the logitech g500s. I am looking for it because I use fingertip grip and I have read that it is the best sensor location for my grip because the sensor is closer to the fingers, so I would like to try it. This is an old video but in case you read this, I saw that microphone for 69 euros. I had just bought a Samson Q2U for the same price. I have a very noisy background, with cars, people talking, etc. Should I have gotten that Razer instead?

If you are looking for a good upgrade, I think the Rode K2 should be a good choice. Tube mic, not Condenser, vintage sound, good stuff.

Got some thoughts on the Neumann TLM 103? Seems highly recommended for rap.
I would say that the TLM 103 is a very high end mic for anything. Recording guitar, voice over, rapping, pop, jazz,...etc. If you have the cash and willing to go big, then yes you should go for it. Objectively the TLM 103 is better than the Rode K2 as well. Both the K2 and the TLM 103 are great mics, just pick whatever depends on your budget I guess.
So TLM 103, Shure SM7B, Rode K2 and EV RE20... they seem to be the most recommended. But as you mention, cash... might be a bit much, can't really justify the spend when the AT2020 is serving me so well, even for music.

Razer must be doing a good job nowadays cause its has its own group of haters in the comment section, big successful companies always have haters.

Razer Deathadder elite or ss rival 310 more accurate?? Da elite is 450 ips and 99.4% while ss rival 310 is 350+ ips and they claim is 100% accurate. I bought ss rival 310 but i think da elite is better. Please reply :(
