I bought a 10 dollar mic off of a chinese website. I use steelseries sonar's AI noise concellation feature and the "deep voice" preset as well. I also use the noise cancellation filter in OBS (for extra measure lol) and a few other filters such as the limiter (to not go into the reds) and the "Goyo" plugin. With that said, steelseries sonar makes the biggest difference. Anyway, my 10 dollar mic sounds incredible, in my opinion. No background noise, the voice is clear and rich. I do have a mic arm which I got for 10 dollars as well, so the total mic investment was 20 dollars. I did also get a pop filter, and a foam filter, but I don't use either of them. The pop filter pisses me off cause it gets in the way, and I prefer what the mic looks like without the foam filter. I tested the sound in each of the three scenarios (with pop, with foam, without) and my ears could not tell the difference so yeah... Not saying expensive mics are not worth it, but you can optimize a bad mic a lot more than you think. Once again, the steelseries GG app and the sonar feature is an incredible thing.
Some people say that the 320 ish price for the Pro version isnt worth it. Is there an alternative to whatever is in the 300 ish range? Except for the Shure SM7B
I dont need this mic but most of my stuff is steel series. Keyboard, mouse, arena 7, arctis 7 headset and planning to get the mic in the future when it does goes on sale. 215 CAD is a bit to expensive for it. Maybe $125 - $150.
I don´t need a mic right now, but I am defiantly gonna try out the Sonar software. So thanks for the video!

These mics looks pretty solid. I'm curious though, does the Alias (USB) work with gaming consoles (PS5/XSX)?
Bottom line, buy the Alias or the HyperX Quadcast or Quadcast S and use the Sonar software? Thanks
"Entry level" has surely increased in price over the years... ouch. 🤪
Haha *steelseries* entry level
@@9to5toysEven for them it's expensive

What's that little screen/monitor on the desk?
It's a little tablet that connects to my camera so I can check my framing and start/stop recording
It looks like GG Sonar doesnt work with W11
Yes it does, works fine.
@@magicstu yes it started to work but it doesn't keep my settings between booting, will probably drop it.
Those look sweeet
GG Sonar doesn't work on Mac or several Windows 11 versions.
Sonar is meh
