Aww man. A Heaven Hill commercial. I appreciate monetizing your RUclips channel while you can…but I can’t help but be disappointed. Cheers.

Got one at Costco couple months ago and broke it out, as I’m watching this I tasted it and their dead on with the nodes and it’s smoother than woodford double oak which is my go too so I hope the stores still have some cause I’m buying a couple to sit on 😂

So there’s a troll on here just commenting on everything and hating on this bottle. Probably got fired from HH or something…..
First off… I work for the largest liquor store chain in Texas and we sell a ton of this stuff and not 1 person I know of has hated this bottle. Most of us keep 1 open and 1 in the hole at all times in case it drys up around here. Right now we’re flush with this product and it’s awesome.
Secondly; this is an excellent bottle. Very oak forward with a lot of tasting notes. Obviously we all have different tastes and those that lean towards the sweeter, wheated mashbills may not rank it as highly as a good larceny or MM but if you’re open to all different types and prefer an oak forward bourbon then this is in your wheelhouse. For me, I wouldn’t pay more than 60-65 for this bottle but do find it’s very good.
    Cheers everybody ! 🥃
Lastly; I’ve read comments about it being pricey and that may be depending on where you’re living. I can only tell you about where I’m at. In Texas, this bottle is under $50 retail which equates to about $7 per year of aging. Not many bottles add up like that. Russels 10 being the phenomenal exception at around $3 per year. Personally I have a rule for myself; I pay no more than $10 per year of aging and stick to it. Very few bottles are even in that category around here.

I haven't even tried this bottle yet, but I agree with you, it's like all these haters are against capitalism. If I had a business selling a product where there is a high demand and people are willing to pay for it, it's a 'no-brainer'. I hate hypocrites.

What I found most interesting was the old advertisement for Old Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond that looks like it was printed in the 1930s showing the price of a fifth (approx. 750 ml) as $4.55. If that was the case in, say, 1940, $4.55 would be the equivalent of $97 in 2023! Hardly 'moderately priced' as claimed in the ad...

$4.55 in 1939, that seems crazy high to me. Coming out of the depression era only the wealthy people could afford spending that much. I would be interested in a listing of the other distiller's offerings prices of the time.

This is very hard to come by in Virginia where I live. Only by an allocation drop at one of the State ABC stores or a drop at one of the military exchanges, and they go quickly. I've been lucky to get one at the Coast Guard Exchange in Chesapeake and another via ABC...$49 bucks. However, I was on a visit to San Diego, and found one in Costco of all places for $34 bucks....needless to say I snatched it up and brought it home

Here is one thing I found with HH BiB 7 year. As soon as it got off allocation and became super readily available it just sits on the shelves. Now the Bourbon lovers in my area just leave them on the shelf close to the New Riff and Smoke Wagon bottles. Once it isn’t hard to find anymore they don’t want it.

How much did HH pay you guys to make this video? 🤦‍♂️
It’s an ok bourbon, not great, and overpriced at $50 at my local TW. Yes, let’s age the bourbon one more year and charge 4x the price of the previous release. Gotta pay for that new distillery somehow!
This is *almost* as bad as Fred Minnick selling out to TW last year. Not quite, but close.
