How To Fix Green/Purple Video Corruption In Google Chrome

- Instructions:
1. Open Chrome.
2. Type "about:flags" into the address bar, without quotes of course. Then hit Enter.
3. CNTRL+F and Search for "Hardware-accelerated video decode".
4. Click Disable (Should be white instead of gray now).
5. Restart Chrome.

I looked up fixes to this problem for a while, and you are the only person to have a way to successfully fix it, thank you so much!
In my case videos were "ghosting", like old 80's tv shows, sometimes videos went black/white in some places, sometimes there was a 3D effect (with red and cyan, not really green/purple). I've spent a good hour reversing my OC, installing new drivers, updating old ones and so on, and this, this simple thing helped. Thanks, dude! :D
For who wants step by step:
-Search: about:flags
-Press Ctrl+F to open the search box and type in: accelerated video
(Accelerated has to have double c by the way)
-Press "Disable"
-Press "Relaunch Now" on the bottom.
Thats it, your chrome should shut down and u just have to re-open it.

Okay, on my phone when I open opera and use RUclips, the video moves in such a creepy and scary way and the colors kinda turn intto blue and some other colors, it's like it keeps repeating it self over and over and over so fast, idk what's the problem :/

Every other video was showing up looking like an old VHS tape that had been through a spin cycle. This fixed the problem, thank you. :)
FOR FIREFOX USERS:
1. In the menu items Click on Tools > Options > General
2. Scroll down until you find the "Performance" section, uncheck "Use recommended Performance Settings"
3. Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Been having this issue on my phone lately, only started about 6 months ago or so. Whenever I would view RUclips videos (only happened with RUclips) in the chrome browser I'd get hundreds of little bars with that same color scheme covering the entire video player so you couldn't see the video. I thought it was some dumb trick RUclips had implemented to force people to use the app.... It was starting to get really irritating whenever a link would open in the browser, and wouldn't switch over to the app.. This completely fixed it tho, thanks so much!

i had this on my phone and thought my screen was broken. Then i closed the yt app and opened a game app to see if i have the problem there as well but everything was fine. Then i searched for the problem on google on my phone and first thing popping up was your video, so I opened it via yt app and the problem was gone just out of nowhere.

My Chrome browser freezer as well, like for 10 seconds. Seems to work fine when Hardware ac is disabled.

THANK YOU !!, I cleaned my computer . unplugged all carried tower outside and used air hose to blow out all dust . When I got reconnected google Chrome was black screen and other browzer was green and pink only in video . this fixed that problem. Thank you

if this doesnt work open a new tab go to settings in the top right click advanced on the left then system turn off use hardware acceleration then relaunch and you should be good

Having issues with firefox - every video has pink/green film over it it's awful. I have been trying to fix it for about three hours now and nothing. help! I can't get the webpage you mentioned to load and I've tried to go to setting under the far right tab with the three horizontal lines but there isn't setting anymore?? anyone else having this problem?

Type in "about:config" in your address bar. Once you're there, scroll down to "media.hardware-video-decoding.failed" click on it until it is set it to "true." Then close Firefox and start it up again. It worked for me.

About from where? from Help button on Mozilla window? How I set it true? It's not let me.. I type in about.config in search and it warned me, I risked click then, saw it in listing but, it said false I click on it nothing happened? how to fix the better way and faster way:
change your screen resolution
tutorial for windows 10:
right click at your desktop
then click display settings
scroll down until you see "Display Resolution"
then change it to whatever screen res you want, if you use like 1920 x 1080 then you can change it to like 2560 x 1440
It didnt work for some reason but when I downloaded a game it just turned green the game is called: Demon Slayer: KImetsu no yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles
