You are a champion man. I tried multiple things nothing worked(100k+ views and such). Your method took effect after reboot and re-launch. Thank you.

Thanks. This worked on a laptop with a rtx 4080 though I know gpu doesn't really matter in this case.

Thanks! I thought I would never find a solution and this seems to have worked a treat. I just switched the flag to OpenGL and the flashing seems to have vanished!

thanks great fix and video however just be warned I tried this and since I had a power meter at my socket I noticed with graphics acceleration off that my PC wattage went up by a good 10-15 watts during YT playback. Also the videos motion looked odd like robotic. This is not ideal, Firefox had no such issues oddly but I prefer chrome since it has hdr YT support. So I went into safe mode, ran DDU utility, then CCleaner registry cleaner and rebooted to normal windows and installed the latest graphic card drivers and this fixed the issue for me (worth a try for others). I am guessing something went odd with the Windows or Graphic card installation.

All I had to do was the first part, to disable the two options and it worked. I don't know what the rest of the video does, but it moved too quickly. I don't know why so many tutorial videos feel like they have to move so fast? It would save me from having to hit pause and rewinding a million times.

Switching to GL instead of DX seems to have fixed flickering videos for me.Thought it's my GPU already dying or something.Disabling HW acceleration is a bad idea since GPU is way faster at rendering complex sites than CPU.You may notice some microstuttering after disabling accel

2:20 too much data ? so this might be caused by having too many tabs open ? clearing cache won't fix that, I currently have 1140 tabs open in 7 groups. Also every time when I start Chrome the tabs look broken/empty, I have to open a new tab and then they reappear properly.
I had an old graphics card (1660 Ti) and 4-5 yo windows install, and I thought one of them was causing this flickering issue, so I bought a new GPU and reinstalled Win 11, but the flickering didn't go away, so only these causes remain:
    1. bad monitor ? but I have 2 and they both flicker but not the same amount
    2. windows 11 bug
    3. Chrome bug
I followed all the steps and the flickering seems to have stopped, for now, my whole screen will also go black several times a day and not just in Chrome but everything, specially after switching my other monitor off, maybe it's because one's a monitor while the other a TV, one uses displayport the other HDMI, one is 1440p the other 4K, one is 75Hz the other 60Hz, etc.

greetings sir, it does fix the issue on my surface. however, by disabling this option a new issue appeared, and that is some websites are not smooth while scrolling, it's like a frame drop during scrolling or something like that. do you have any idea how to fix it?

    • @SpeaksHistory
      @SpeaksHistory 4 месяца назад

Hello, if you are referring to disabling graphics acceleration I can assist. In simple terms disabling graphics acceleration will offload the graphical work, such as playing a video or even with certain websites like you mentioned. I recommend leaving this setting on and changing graphics angle backend mentioned in the video.

@@SpeaksHistory hello, thanks for the reply. even while changing the graphics angle backend the main issue that i have does not dissapear.
there is still flickering when i move the mouse while in full screen. later, i switched to firefox and the flickering is gone, but after a while firefox gets slow and when i close and reopen the browser it works fine again for sometime.
i use surface pro 9 if that helps.
      thanks!

@@fuckerno12 Hm I'm not exactly sure then. I would recommend leaving graphic acceleration on and changing the graphics angle backend to D3D11.
