*For windows 11, make sure your BIOS is up to date and supports windows 11 on your motherboard* This video is intended for PCs that had windows installed with the BIOS in UEFI mode before installation or for PCs that don't have windows installed yet. If you installed windows in CSM mode and are trying to switch it to UEFI mode to turn on secure boot, there is a chance your PC will no longer load windows and will only boot to your BIOS or a black screen, it depends on how your drive was formatted, MBR (Master Boot Record) typically how the drive is formatted for CSM mode or GPT (GUID Partition Table) for UEFI mode. If you can only boot to windows in CSM mode and your drive is formatted to MBR, you will either need to reinstall windows in UEFI mode to get it to be GPT or run the MBR2GPT tool in windows to convert your drive and system, you can find a video going over this on my channel.
@@anxietydisorders5917 Yeah, sometimes I think they could have done things differently. But at least they have some work arounds for issues like these.
omg i have the exact problem but it turns out you cannot turn on secure boot unless you have a cpu with dedicated gpu, i know its stupid, i think valorant should make an update to fix that
You saved me. I’m able to install windows 11 now as soon as it is released. The trick with enabled/disabled/enabled to get it on user helped me a lot. Would not have figured it out alone.
No problem, glad it helped! I actually dug into this myself for the very same reason, figured I would make a short video to help out others in the same situation.
@@Hello_-_-_-_ I am not 100% sure if it is required for Windows 11, they did originally state that your PC needed TPM 2.0, which I believe requires secure boot to be enabled in order to turn TPM on. But I could be wrong on that one. It does serve the purpose of preventing malware during boot, from my understanding.
Meine SSD geht nicht im UEFI Modus, nur im CSM Modus. Und Secure Boot kann ich nur im UEFI Modus aktivieren. Oder wie kann ich meine M.2 SSD über UEFI Hard Disk Booten lassen???
@@rawdeon3820 If you haven't figured it out yet, you more than likely will need to switch your boot drive from MBR to GPT. This is a common issue when windows is installed with CSM mode on and then trying to switch back to UEFI mode. If you see my pinned comment on the video, you can see a brief explanation on a way to check & correct that issue.
For a long time, I have wanted to update to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check always told me that my new computer did not have the requirements for the update, I wondered why. I was looking for tutorials and no answers. I was frustrated. However, I wanted to change to a new bigger SSD drive and set up the BIOS. I followed the instructions on this video tutorial, but after I turned it back on, Windows finally showed that this PC had the requirements to update to Windows 11. Good to go! Thank you!

Glad to help! Also, were you looking for safe boot or secure boot? If its secure boot, some MSI motherboards have it built into the Windows 10 WHQL Support option.
If someone don’t get the window os configuration just slide the mouse to right bottom and you see a security option click on that there you find the secure boot👍
I haven't had that happen yet, but one thing you can try is going into your BIOS, make sure you are in advance mode, click on settings, then click on Boot, then go to Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities. Then click on option #1 and pick the drive that has your OS on it and so on for your remaining drives. Another option would be to reset your BIOS to default settings and then going back in and setting up everything again in the BIOS.
Did you switch from CSM to UEFI? If your drive was formatted as MBR, then it more than likely isn't showing up in UEFI mode, since it isn't partitioned for that.
@@Bananabrain_xmf so how would we fix that issue? I am getting the same thing where my SSD isn't even being detected and I don't want to clear it and reformat it.
