    Note: It looks like some folks can't get Windows to start after enabling TPM and Secure boot, in this case FIRST you have to convert your hard drive partition table from MBR to GPT. Just revert the changes you have made and your PC should start back up normally, in case the drive is already formatted with GPT partition table and the PC won't boot into Windows, then update the BIOS to the latest version available from MSI. I hope that fixes the problem.. phew! Thanks, Microsoft for not making it easy!!😅
    PS: You don't need secure boot to upgrade to Windows 11, turns out they haven't made it 'mandatory' but it's a good idea to turn it on right now because going forward there are going to be apps and games that will require BOTH TPM and Secure Boot to be enabled, Valorant is an example of this.

    So a shortcut I found is that when switching the secure boot mode to “custom” you don’t actually need to restart. Select custom, then switch it right back to standard and you’ll be able to enable secure boot without the error message. Did it twice now on 2 different computers.

    You are one of the few to understand that enabling secure boot is not needed for W11 only UEFI and TPM.
    A lot of people are disabling CSM without checking for GPT and a compliant GPU, and worse are bricking their m/b by changing secure boot key settings.

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  2 года назад +2

      Exactly, secure boot isn't essential for Windows 11 and there is a very specific procedure on how to enable Secure boot and get to change to 'User' mode, this is why I showed how to do it in the video. 😊
      I am actually surprised to see how many people have their drives formatted in MBR, I moved to GPT many years ago!!
      And about secure boot, even though it's not essential to install Windows 11, I'd still enable it because sooner or later there are going to be apps and games that require both, TPM and Secure Boot to be turned on, Valorant is an example of this, it won't run on Windows 11 without secure boot. Don't really like where the industry is going with this.

When I enable TPM and make sure it's set to AMD CPU fTPM, even after rebooting, the longer list of options doesn't show up, and tpm.msc still says "compatible TPM cannot be found." I know my MB supports TPM and doesn't require a module to add on, so idk why it won't work.

    The video helped a lot to turn on secure boot and tpm 2.0 but my computer doesn’t meet the requirements, eventhough i have all the requirements. I also checked on the windows health app.
