I don't remember the exact distance, but based on a breakdown of the landmarks Rocky runs past in Philadelphia, his morning run is in the neighborhood of 28 miles. That's his super power. He ran a marathon every morning.
Italian Market in South Philly to Penn's Landing to Benjamin Franklin Bridge and Kelly Drive to the Art Museum in Center City has to be two different runs. In which case there is a vague plausibility.

I wound up playing through college and club, never went pro but regardless you can build relationships through sports that you will never get elsewhere.

@@kemosabeusmc, I heard that they were adding a new weight division which would mean even more meaningless belts. Not sure though, I am new to the sport of boxing.
Boxing is in a great place rn idk what u guys are bitching about
@@efraingonzalez3106 there's a LOT OF CORRUPTION and of course to much belts idiot only real boxing fans would understand
Creed had the most realistic fight scenes and this just adds to the experience, hearing Gabe break it down.
His fight scene in the movie was beautifully shot.
In the knock out scene micheal b Jordan actually turns into the punch to make it more realistic. Now thats commitment
I'll take Southpaw over Creed..
@@ianreed9638 Creed over Southpaw. Creed has the credibility and realism through real boxers like Rosado, Tony Bellew, and Andre Ward as not only actors, but also consultants
@@ianreed9638 southpaw was a soap opera. Not nearly on the same level as creed
This dude is really charismatic I see why Sly picked him for Creed
He literally said in the vid that a director he didn't know or smth told him about the movie
@@RozKounelakion legit🤣
Makes him slighly biased tough......
Mans doesn't have the craziest record, but he is well spoken, articulate and overall a good dude to watch
The boxing version of Donald Cerrone
A record is overrated bruh. I get it's one of the only ways to measure a fighter but we all know theres fighters that cushion there record just to look good. Idk imo a record can be overrated
@@moisesmontecillo7570 completely agree. Sadly, a lot of boxing fans are very fickle with records - Jorge Masvidal is on the front cover of UFC video games with a similar record to Gabe
The man fought against elites
Records don’t matter
I'm a fan of Gabe now my dude KILLED this breakdown
I’ve been a fan since his fights with Golovkin and Lemieux. The latter fight made me give my respect to not only Rosado, but all Puerto Rican/Philly fighters
I don't remember the exact distance, but based on a breakdown of the landmarks Rocky runs past in Philadelphia, his morning run is in the neighborhood of 28 miles. That's his super power. He ran a marathon every morning.
So THAT'S how he beat Drago lol
Italian Market in South Philly to Penn's Landing to Benjamin Franklin Bridge and Kelly Drive to the Art Museum in Center City has to be two different runs. In which case there is a vague plausibility.
@@terminallumbago6465 he did not train in Philly when he fought Drago
Daniel C I was kidding. Running that much had to improve his conditioning permanently lol
Jesus Christ no wonder the man was always broke he probably needed 4,000 calories just for the morning
As a novice boxing fan This was really interesting. Very eloquently explained and he broke down each scene really well. Probably one of the best break down videos you’ve put out! Would like to see more of this!
What’s ur fav move mines undercut and body shots
I used to run twice a day. I cant stress enough how many times i beat guys who thought because they lifted weights and did a lil cardio it was enough. Its all about stamina. Your lungs, your heart, your legs , tempo/pacing. You feel invincible after pushing yourself running. That runners high is a real thing. When i missed a few runs my mom said i looked like i was having withdrawels. I was irritable, restless and depressed. After i went for a light run. It calmed me.
That's how it was with me and track and field. Stamina is everything but the will to push forward needs to be just as strong
are you telling me you beat men in a boxing match because you had superior stamina?
@@hedonistic_ambition9060 no he isnt. Hes probably talking anout the average gym goer, but probably the lighter ones
Cap
Calm down mija
He was really good at explaining everything, 10/10 commentary
I really like Rosado. he’s one of those fighters who has heart regardless of the outcome of his fights.
Very similar to AJ, obviously different upbringings but same hungry mentality. Both legends of the sport
Whoa! The wealth of information and details Gabe explained was amazing. He's so honest about the scene breakdowns. I would watch another breakdown of other boxing movies and of how other boxers are.
I still remember Gabe’s fight against GGG short notice and gave him problems early on. So much heart on this guy.
Love Gabe but I thought GGG held back early on...he was struggling then to get anyone to fight him. Many fights he did the same.
The Ref's reactions to the fight was hilarious too
24:35 “A clinch is only dirty when you’re doing excessive clinching”
@RoyJonesJr during the Tyson fight
Yeahhh man. I was so pissed atvthat. Glad i didnt pay to see that fight. Haha
It's funny to hear him explain every little basic detail about boxing as a big boxing fan, but I'm sure alot of people learned alot about boxing today.
#MakeBoxingGreatAgain
13:25 "It's the difference between you having a six-pack and turning your body into a shield..."
The difference between a social media workout star and a regular boxer.
I was expecting a wannabe but this guy is legit. Dude’s talking advanced concepts, or at least concepts the general populace aren’t familiar with
Nah Nate Robinson
i like how he didn’t just say “that’s against the rules” when people fought dirty, he actually talked about how it’s not how people break the rules
19:54 "When someone gets knocked down you have, it's called an 8 count, you have to be up before 10."
Seriously though, this was super informative and this guy seems awesome.
It's called mandatory 8 count because regardless of how quick a fighter gets up, the ref has to count to at least 8 before the fight can continue
"A heavyweight can be between 200 pounds and 250 pounds."
Tyson Fury: "Hold my turkey leg."
i literally thought the same thing hahah
@@helpraznidentitystopanti-a3946 Valuev was 7 feet tall though, so it makes sense he was a heavy SOB
@@joelcastro-reyes1667 Yup plus Tyson Fury is 6ft9in.
Andy Ruiz weighed about 280 in the second fight
I think he's pointing out the discrepancy and weight once you surpass the super heavy weight class. Super heavyweights don't necessarily "make weight" but rather being focused on the technical and physical aspect.
One of the best episodes of this series. He really puts you in the mind frame of the sport, great job
I like Gabe and I am glad hes getting alot more exposure. That guy has to be one of the most hard working guys in boxing who has been robbed the most. Legend
Really like Gabriel, so accurate, detailed, easy to follow. Looks like a cool guy.
Gabriel does a FANTASTIC job at explaining his craft. Imo this is one of the best in whole Break Down series.
THIS MAN IS A TREMENDOUS BOXING HISTORIAN .
HIS BOXING IQ IS EXCEPTIONAL.
HIS SMOOTH VERBAL ARTICULATION IS EXQUISITE.
AND LASTLY, HIS “ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR” IS GLARINGLY APPARENT .

I’m just gonna say it this man is SO HANDSOME WTF
Right! I wanted to say it but felt shy lol
He's soo fine 🤤
lol definitely
the best one yet!! Gabe looked very passionate, and obviously wanted to be there, which isn’t the case for all celebrity breakdowns. loved this video and love gabes personality
This dude had some serious courage when he fought GGG.
He was the first known fighter to fight GGG here in the US, did way better than what others credited him for. Gabe showed some real toughness that fight, became a fan that night.
@@franknoneofya9585 fr
Gabe is not only a smart boxer but a smart individual and unlike other fighters he clearly has a personality outside of just being a fighter
Gabriel Rosada is great actually. Not just a pro boxer but also a real expert on the history. Great commentary
Now just imagine GGG in Gabe's place,,, "Aah this is boxing" "i love boxing" "i wanna fight" "big drama show".. lol
Put me in the ring I'd bum GGG
Triple-G is a living legend.
The dude can barley speak English. How would Gabe do if the interview was in Russian or Kazakh?
I love how 19:15 he's literally teaching folks how to dirty box 😂😂
I’m glad GQ didn’t choose some wannabe boxer Gabe was a great choice.
"You got to be slick about it"🤣😂😂

Out of all of GQ's The Breakdown..this was the best.. Gabriel Rosado explained everything in amazing detail..unlike some of the others 😂
Dude seems super chill. Probably a great Coach someday
This was more than a breakdown of scenes, it felt like a boxing class. Can’t wait to see him and Jacobs handle business

I feel what he's saying about it being a sport that brings people together. In highschool I was a felon, the soccer coach was a police officer and ex military, other players were honor students, drug dealers etc. We were a family that weekly would get together and have dinner and pretty much are all friends to this day. I wound up playing through college and club, never went pro but regardless you can build relationships through sports that you will never get elsewhere.
Gabe is the closes to the new age we have as our arturo gatti. Gabe is a warrior.

I used to be deep in the boxing scene, and always ALWAYS loved and rooted for Gabe.
I cant think of a better ambassador for the sport. An old-school warrior who is as smart and kind as he is tough.

Not really Bryan, yeah he did but he’s a young kid his remark at the beginning of the video shows that. Anyone with knowledge know that boxing back then was straight up brutal he’s right nowadays having your eyes like that the fight would be over but back then it would be a different story
i really appreciated how he knows the films and the context of the scenes he’s reviewing because of lot of gq interviews feature experts on a certain subject who know nothing about the movie
Didn’t know this boxer until now but I’ll sure be watching all his available fights. One of the best breakdowns I’ve seen in a long time.
God, I enjoyed this episode so much as a boxing fan. I know he is just talking about movies, but he gave us the insights of the boxing matches, which were so fascinating.

So happy for Gabe to be still in the game for this long and that awesome KO. He wasnt able to catch a break for a long time.
32:00. So true, my old boxing gym was dirty, grimy, the toilets barely flushed, there was duct tape on the heavy bags, I don’t think it had ever been swept. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It had a weird way of making you feel like a badass every time you walked in. I literally sometimes felt like I was training in a Rocky movie
You should see some of the gyms in Tijuana, some dont even have a floor, is literally dirt.
