Surf rods are great wherever you can use them...I've been using a Tackle Industries 10'6" Muskie rod as a surf stick paired with a Penn Fathom2 Casting Special....30lb braid topped with 30ft of 50lb mono leader and, of course, with an FG knot and a Rizutto finish... I found that this rod is pretty stiff and I can get 150yd cast from this setup....just like my 11' and 12' surf sticks.... We have heavy surf here in the Northern California coast up to Washington state ...is why I use heavy setups 🤙😎👍
Cast a diamond jig or 3 ounce poppper in the surf with that bad boy 4000-6000 reel 20-30# braid same size leader and hold on… Striper are active in the surf right now… target sand crab beds 🍻 That set up the way you have it will work 🍻
Caught a 16” corvina last week at a place you recommended on the DMs! Didn’t know what it was or what the legal size was so I just released it. Got a spottie shortly after!
Another great video. Wind knots are a problem. Suggest not filling your spool so full. I fill mine until bout a quarter inch is left. My thinking is try a 3 eights kastmaster or quarter ounce job. My rod of choice would be a lamiglass 8 6 steelhead rod with a shimano 4000 spinning reel sounds old school lol. Line 10 to 12 lb monofiliment. Also if they sell em down there 2 inch buzz bomb or half ounce crippled herring would be effective. Happy fishing
I use 11lb- 16lb saltiga PE line braid, and wind knots , got used to them. Specially jigging from shore, but on reel now last 50-75 yards of 26lb saltiga braid and no knots at all , ill try the 21lb.
Hey Tony wat up. I have been using my 8’6 and my 9’6 for a long time in the bays. I like it cause you can get your lures out further. Works great i love the rod action also.
You prefer the morning Red Bull to the morning coffee? That a San Diego thing?? Funny how people complain about you saying hello on the vids lol......the internet is unmatched when it comes to miserable folks. Tight lines!
keep on keepin' on bro! Been watching for years and always been a fan, real and authentic. you do you, don't listen to the haters cabron. The intro is sick i'm usually on the toilet for reals
Hey man hope you’re doing well! I’ve been fishing Mission Bay with no luck. Tried drop shots with the Berkley Gulp (Chartreuse). What is the handle you’re using on that first rod?

I use a ultra light with a 1000 reel for bay fishing 🤣
how do you secure the 2-piece rod in your truck? @16:23 I can see you breaking it down and strapping something to it
I ordered the travel rod straps on amazon. You can also get rod straps and just secure them together.
Fancy gear you got there 👌🏽
And keep the intro
I just went to harbour island where you are !

@@Dom1904-s4r if I remember correctly, it's called the gator grips. From Japan.
I have that Diawa surf rod as well, great rod but was too bulky for me. I switched over to an Okuma Rockway 10’ rod & I love it better.
I've never tried that brand but I'll have to look into it.

Bro I love using my surf rod in the bay. Helps keep from snagging as well
It really does make a difference!

@@kyleb9275 yes

Have you ever tried fishing for Sargos? Sargos will only go after ghostshrimp and nothing else.

What is the handle you’re using on that first rod?
Ah never mind, I thought it was an aftermarket handle. I really like your setup but way out of my price range.
Sup doggie! 🫶🏽🐻G
SD bay has been slow for me. 4 fish in 2 hrs on drop shot, spin and kastmaster.
Who gives a shit if they don’t like it. They aren’t your true supporters anyway.
Your intros are dope. Fvck the haters. Keep doing your thing
