I knew a guy at IBM who always wore a lab coat and walked around with a clipboard. No one bothered him.
I wore a lab coat for years. With the addition of the clipboard, I was never mistaken for a nurse, and people obeyed my instructions. My granddaughter calls it the " lab coat of intimidation". Even retired, I keep 2 just in case. If you are carrying documents, it helps to walk purposefully fast or peer with concentration at various objects.
I did that a few times in my life when I was needing to look busy or in some place where I wasn't supposed to be. Like you said, carry a file and walk purposefully like you know where you're going, and it works out fine.
Your father was E-4 mafia.
When I would be waiting for training it tended to be weeds and seed. Both as a A1C and years later as a SSgt retread
You have to join a HOA by written consent or buy a house with an HOA. There is no such thing as a secondary HOA.
Unfortunately, there is such a thing as a secondary HOA...it's normally for larger situations where the secondary one handles things in a section of the larger one.
With a lot of places, it's a thing where they build in phases where all of them are under the same overarching HOA but there's secondary ones that cover just the ones from that phase. Issues tend to come when they decide to do that later on and don't have it set up that way from the beginning with the first phase or two of construction.

There is a large ex-farmland G I A N T HOA near me. It has single family homes, they just pay the main HOA. It also has multiple buildings in sudivision condos inside each with independent village names and their own sub-HOAs for their subdivision maintence and services, that also pay the main HOA because of using the same private roads, trash collection, etc. It's kinda a clusterf**k, but 2/3 of them are vacation homes empty most of the year.
You absolutely can be stuck paying two HOAs.
But not if they haven't sign a contract to the secondary HOA.

I was in the US Army for 4 years. In that time, I had 6 inspections, 4 barracks and 2 motor pools, of which the inspecting officer command sergeant major either never showed up for the inspections or went through the area so fast that I could have set my room on fire and they would have never noticed a thing

I will never understand why people live in HOA's. Sure it might be fine for a while until the neighborhood Karen/Chad gets on the board and decides to push everyone around. That or the board hires some outside management firm who decide the residents are there to be milked of all the money possible.
Because some areas where land is expensive house etc are put on less than normal lots. That results in an HOA!

@@Khalifrio that actually depends on the local jurisdictions. When they are required to keep green area to compensate for the small lots; usually non buildable space that forces an HOA in areas, I’ve run into such associations: they are basically required! Of course, there are also gated communities, in some areas, that end up with similar restrictions

@@Khalifrio simpler said than done when you have a job! However, when we retired it was a requirement -- even if it was a 1million dollar house for $10 if it was in an HOA I wasn’t interested! One might think take it and flip it, but depending on the covenants that may be problematic, and who knows what outstanding right now. Pass ……
Having to clean copper pipes at a restaurant I w9rked i know how tedious and time consuming it is but as I was the only one doing it I got some very good comments from the district manager so much so he wanted me to go to other stores and show them how it was done

People treat medical staff like crap...but sounds like the doc needs to cool down. The nurses/techs have likely dealt with not just screams....but threats, violence, and racism....yet keep their cool. My spouse is a tech and just got off a 12 Friday where they got slugged/kicked, yet still had to behave professionally to the attending and the family. Not just that shift...but the next 3 days.
SSGT Small should have brought OP a Dremel with a nylon wire wheel to speed up the detailing process (the nylon bristles should be able to scrub the corrosion off without scratching the Copper)...OP would then have been done in a day or less...

I sympathize with the doctor in the first story. I was a high school teacher for 27 years, until I couldn't deal with it anymore, then managed a medical therapy office and later a very high-end photo studio for 15 more years total (met so many arrogant, entitled people). I have a pretty short fuse. How I managed to avoid being fired, I don't know. You tend to forget the good people, because that's how most of us expect people to act. You remember the idiots.
The best thing about being retired is being able to choose where and when you have to deal with people.
Agreed. Most of the people that I remember over my working life are the ones who caused the most ruckus. My first job was for a RV supply store and because I am female, tiny and look young for my age, most of the elderly male customers dismissed me as knowing nothing and unable to help them. They would DeMAnD a man. Well little did they know I was the store lead and the team reported to me. The guys would intentionally ask me my opinion about things like the size A/C or generator they would need just to kind of stick it to them. I have been screamed at, sworn at, threatened with assault and threatened to end me in the various jobs that I have had. I enjoy working from home now.
The only way to keep copper, brass and silver from tarnishing (corroding) in to polish them to the desired shine/finish, then IMMEDIATELY apply a clear finish (varnish, epoxy, urethane etc.) to keep Oxygen from coming in contact with the metal...if you just leave the metal exposed to the air, it WILL Tarnish with time...
Story one, I understand the daughter being upset. The patient should not have been kept waiting for so many hours. That being said, she was going after the wrong doctor.

Secondary HOA, formed after you bought, that has not once contacted you, I would say that, unless you are in Tx, that they can go pound sand, as you are not a member of them. And WTF would anybody want to be in 2 HOA's at the same time, one can be bad enough, but here you will have 2, one telling you one thing, the other another, and both fining you for obeying the other.
Last story I'd love to hear the answer on the sub-HOA personally I'd think any such changes would have to be communicated to the owners and if nothing else it would have to be noted on the deed

Last story OP no a first HOA second HOA Thursday to 18th HOA. They cannot just pop up and say that you owe them money. If you bought a house before an HOA, you have to agree to join the HOA. No agreement. They have no legal standing

I’m a doctor and I can tell you that both people in this story are right to be angry. Louisa has every right to be extremely angry, she and her father sat there for hours, with no word from anyone (in charge of her dad) OP had every right to be angry, because he’s being blamed (kinda deserved) for Louisa’s plight. Hospitals are businesses, and are ran like a business. This is to the detriment of every single person who needs healthcare. This is the result. I see it on a constant basis. Unless I become a trillionaire and start running my own hospitals, there’s nothing I can do about it.
My late father was in the Air Force working on C-130's, I wonder what tales he could of told, sadly he passed the 5th of this month.

ER story: Doctors are not interchangeable. Medicine has gotten to the point that there is literally too much for any one person to know, thus specialties. And why people are often seen by a team of doctors rather than just one. But short of an actual emergency a doctor isn't going to jump in and start caring for another's patient.

LAST STORY it doesn't matter if there is a second hoa or not OP would NOT have to join this hoa because this hoa started after OP already owned the property and had been there longer than one year so therefore they can NOT make OP pay any money for dues and/or fines associated with the second hoa
"Nursery" team? very suspect story if the doctor doesn't know the difference between a nurses station and a nursery. Secondary HOA? Without any kind of notice. Your lawyer should take them apart!

WTF? "Master Sergeant" isn't a rank in the United States Marine Corps. Staff Sergeant is E-6 and Gunnery Sergeant (Gunny) is E-7.

The vast majority of stories on reddit are fake, and over the past year or two the vast majority of those have also been AI generated trash, so the story could be by a person who knows almost nothing about military structure or it could have been cobbled together by an AI which has only ever been trained to recognise a single military structure.
Master Sergeant is E-8. Master Gunnery Sergeant is E-9 My dad was one (E-8) Learn your military ranks, please.
