this and dragon eyes are such beautiful closers to the album. the whole thing is really hypnotic, i didn't appreciate it enough during my first listen on friday, i was on my bicycle, the city was awake and there was messy busy traffic, it was daytime but then i played it during this one hour going back thing, the night came sooner and that made me totally sad since now i know that's a definite sign that winter is here and cold months blablabla, it was really mesmerizing! we just finished lunch and i laid down on my bed for a second, trying not to fall asleep and just be there, floating with the music - and that's when the experience with this music truly shines! just like with lots of songs on "ufof" and well, big thief generally. it's (this is really pretentious and cheesy ahah) kind of fairy-tale folk songs disguised as unconscious fireflies we all have in our mind when we're nearly asleep, yet so awake. truly special, bravo adrianne!
I listened to this album after eating mushrooms and oh my god. I made sure my stereo field setup was somewhat proper, and holy fucking shit the recording is immaculate. My room was transformed into the space this was recorded in and there's no way to describe it short of magical and intimate. The ending of this song hit hard. It's like the illusion cuts out, the magic is just ripped away with no warning. Sort of like a sudden breakup. All the emotions of the album hit at once and I broke down crying. That was the most moving moment I've ever experienced on a first listen of an album
Yes this album on psychedelics is love and life incarnated,I once felt on lsd that I was living the unavoidable story of myself while watching space and time bubbles creating in front of me during “Come”
and thanks for making the LP edition mastered all-analog, making this music alive in an extra natural and even symbolic condition (instead of just sounding clear and precise like the usual digital masters sound)
