They did this old Muddy Waters song some justice. Bill also does a VERY good job of this song solo. But then, Bill never does a bad job with a song.
Bill’s last two albums- in 2007 and 2014, I believe- were both blues albums. In his Your Heart to Mine, he wrote a fantastic song called This Will Be the Last Time ( I Have the Blues). I heard him sing it live in October. (He’s 83 now, and can still deliver!). Bill is a true Legend.

Both these boys went to high school together in Orange County, Los Angeles. Each of them separately had loved in imitated the blues for sometime. Each of them had their own band and band a friend introduced them to one another, and the rest is history!

Bobby Died just 60 minutes from my house that night in 2003. I had almost bought tickets to the show but decided not to. I was bummed out as we used to say in the 1960's, all next day. That's Bill singing solo for sure. Check out Little Latin Lupe Lu. Bill wrote it, it was fun.

Some others you must hear are Roy Orbison doing (live) "Running Scared" and "Crying" and "Only the Lonely" and also Tom Jones doing (live) "I'll Never Fall in Love Again". Not the blues but all four fantastic.

Yes Glen Campbell was a studio musician just like the backup singers Cher and Marine love she was a backup singer for Phil Spector and the wall of sound and Leon Russell played piano it was called The Wrecking Crew what's the name of the studio musicians they call them in so they could do their magic on the records for making hits in the 60s
These are/were Orange County, California boys. Bobby's family moved to Cali when he was little. You should watch some of the clips from Shindig, a tv show they were featured 1964-66. Try, I Need Your Loving Everyday, or, You Need to Find A New Man
This was one of muddy waters most famous songs. Willie Dixon wrote it and played bass on it. You really need to listen to the originals, like muddy waters and howling wolf ( I asked my baby for water ; she gave me gasoline) and sunny boy Williamson II , Elmore James, BB, Albert and Freddy king. who were very well known to all of the British bands. The original blues singers were much more popular and respected in Britain in the 60’s than they were here in the US.
The Paramours were basically inconsequential. I can't name a single song they ever recorded. The Righteous Brothers debuted with a song written by Bill Medley. The song, "Little Latin Lupe Lu," became a staple that every high school garage band in the '60s had to have in their repertoire. Philles Records was the product of legendary record producer Phil Spector (the Phil in Philles). Spector became known for a production style known as the "Wall of Sound," where he would pack the studio with twice as many musicians as most songs required. But the thick backing tracks became his trademark. You can certainly hear it on "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" and most of the Righteous Brothers hits. But perhaps it's most associated with the Ronettes classic hit "Be My Baby" as well as "He's A Rebel" and "Then He Kissed Me" by The Crystals -- all groups that Spector produced. Phil Spector even produced some songs for The Beatles in their final days recording together. If the name Phil Spector rings a faint bell in your head, it might be because he was in the news a few years ago for having killed his wife. Bobby Hatfield, the blonde tenor in the Righteous Brothers, as good as he was, never really had much commercial success on his own without Bill Medley, even though two of the Righteous Brothers' biggest hits featured Bobby solo -- "Unchained Melody" and "Ebb Tide." But after Bill left Bobby and the Righteous Brothers for a brief period in the late '60s, Bill had one minor solo hit in '68 called "Brown Eyed Woman." A fantastic version of it shown on The Playboy Channel with The Blossoms singing backup is on RUclips. The song is about an interracial relationship, and was released just a few months after the Supreme Court's landmark Loving v. Virginia ruling that legalized interracial marriage in America. Then in the late '80s, Bill recorded a duet with Jennifer Warnes called "I've Had the Time of My Life," which went on to have huge success after being featured in the movie "Dirty Dancing." It also became the theme music for Carnival Cruise Lines commercials. In the mid '60s, the Righeous Brothers were a huge deal, partly because they were regulars on a prime-time ABC-TV show called "Shindig!" which was the first show of its kind that brought OUR generation's music into our living rooms on a regular basis. The Righteous Brothers' last big hit they recorded together came in 1974 when they reunited to record "Rock and Roll Heaven," a tribute to so many rock and roll superstars who left us much too young.
Without Bobby Hatfield no one would know who Bill Medley is. It was Bill who left the duo twice. Realizing he needed Bobby, he convinced him to restart the Righteous Brothers. Phil Spector's antipathy toward Bobby is likely the reason his solo recording career was derailed.

The backing tracks on all the Righteous Brothers songs are the incomparable studio musicians of Los Angeles in the '60s who would become known as The Wrecking Crew. They played on the backing tracks for hundreds of recording artists from the Righteous Brothers to the Beach Boys to Frank Sinatra to the Mamas and Paps to Gary Lewis and the Playboys to Sonny and Cher to Glen Campbell (who was, himself, a member of the group before he went solo) to just about anybody who recorded in Los Angeles during this era, and were heard on literally THOUSANDS of hit records in the '60s, '70s and '80s. The good news for you is, there is a documentary film out there that you can watch about them, and for all you reaction channel people, I consider it a must-see, as it gives you some background on this music that you will find invaluable. Bill was born in santa ana ca, orange county. Bobby moved to anaheim as a child. Began as a group , the Paramours. Broke off as a dou. One night, singing at a small club near El Toro Marine Base, a group of Black Marines were there, one of them shouted out, "Thats righteous, brother!" A short time later Bobby suggested they adopt the name. Ray Charles and the Black singers of that era were a great inspiration on them.
I'm pretty sure this song goes back to somewhere in the 1950s, maybe early 60s. I just know I first heard it by a blues cat named Muddy Waters on an old Chess Records album in the late 60s. I'm not sure where that opening guitar riff comes from. It's been around for long time and probably used in a dozen different songs.
If you want to hear more blues/soul you want to hear Bobby Hatfield’s ‘Summertime’, but as a Righteous Brothers solo. As noted by others the song followed the Muddy Waters type of riff.

That song was played in the movie "The Babysitter" when the kids went through the bar to get away from the bad guys. The band in there was playing it and the babysitter had to sing to get past them. Good movie.

Shindig was a TV show in the sixties. Look up the Righteous Brothers and the Blossoms singing "The Night Time Is The Right Time" on Shindig. You'll love it. Also a must see is Bobby Hatfield singing Summertime live. Both are GREAT!!!!!
Yes Glen Campbell was a studio musician just like the backup singers Cher and Marine love she was a backup singer for Phil Spector and the wall of sound and Leon Russell played piano it was called The Wrecking Crew what's the name of the studio musicians they call them in so they could do their magic on the records for making hits in the 60s

These are/were Orange County, California boys. Bobby's family moved to Cali when he was little. You should watch some of the clips from Shindig, a tv show they were featured 1964-66. Try, I Need Your Loving Everyday, or, You Need to Find A New Man

This was one of muddy waters most famous songs. Willie Dixon wrote it and played bass on it. You really need to listen to the originals, like muddy waters and howling wolf ( I asked my baby for water ; she gave me gasoline) and sunny boy Williamson II , Elmore James, BB, Albert and Freddy king. who were very well known to all of the British bands. The original blues singers were much more popular and respected in Britain in the 60’s than they were here in the US.

The Paramours were basically inconsequential. I can't name a single song they ever recorded. The Righteous Brothers debuted with a song written by Bill Medley. The song, "Little Latin Lupe Lu," became a staple that every high school garage band in the '60s had to have in their repertoire. Philles Records was the product of legendary record producer Phil Spector (the Phil in Philles). Spector became known for a production style known as the "Wall of Sound," where he would pack the studio with twice as many musicians as most songs required. But the thick backing tracks became his trademark. You can certainly hear it on "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" and most of the Righteous Brothers hits. But perhaps it's most associated with the Ronettes classic hit "Be My Baby" as well as "He's A Rebel" and "Then He Kissed Me" by The Crystals -- all groups that Spector produced. Phil Spector even produced some songs for The Beatles in their final days recording together. If the name Phil Spector rings a faint bell in your head, it might be because he was in the news a few years ago for having killed his wife.
Bobby Hatfield, the blonde tenor in the Righteous Brothers, as good as he was, never really had much commercial success on his own without Bill Medley, even though two of the Righteous Brothers' biggest hits featured Bobby solo -- "Unchained Melody" and "Ebb Tide." But after Bill left Bobby and the Righteous Brothers for a brief period in the late '60s, Bill had one minor solo hit in '68 called "Brown Eyed Woman." A fantastic version of it shown on The Playboy Channel with The Blossoms singing backup is on RUclips. The song is about an interracial relationship, and was released just a few months after the Supreme Court's landmark Loving v. Virginia ruling that legalized interracial marriage in America. Then in the late '80s, Bill recorded a duet with Jennifer Warnes called "I've Had the Time of My Life," which went on to have huge success after being featured in the movie "Dirty Dancing." It also became the theme music for Carnival Cruise Lines commercials.
In the mid '60s, the Righeous Brothers were a huge deal, partly because they were regulars on a prime-time ABC-TV show called "Shindig!" which was the first show of its kind that brought OUR generation's music into our living rooms on a regular basis.
The Righteous Brothers' last big hit they recorded together came in 1974 when they reunited to record "Rock and Roll Heaven," a tribute to so many rock and roll superstars who left us much too young.
Without Bobby Hatfield no one would know who Bill Medley is. It was Bill who left the duo twice. Realizing he needed Bobby, he convinced him to restart the Righteous Brothers. Phil Spector's antipathy toward Bobby is likely the reason his solo recording career was derailed.

The backing tracks on all the Righteous Brothers songs are the incomparable studio musicians of Los Angeles in the '60s who would become known as The Wrecking Crew. They played on the backing tracks for hundreds of recording artists from the Righteous Brothers to the Beach Boys to Frank Sinatra to the Mamas and Paps to Gary Lewis and the Playboys to Sonny and Cher to Glen Campbell (who was, himself, a member of the group before he went solo) to just about anybody who recorded in Los Angeles during this era, and were heard on literally THOUSANDS of hit records in the '60s, '70s and '80s. The good news for you is, there is a documentary film out there that you can watch about them, and for all you reaction channel people, I consider it a must-see, as it gives you some background on this music that you will find invaluable. This song was originally released in the 50s by Muddy Waters. That's where they get the blues influence and the rift. It was first covered in 1960 by Etta James on the flipside of her record "At Last"
Bill was born in santa ana ca, orange county. Bobby moved to anaheim as a child. Began as a group , the Paramours. Broke off as a dou. One night, singing at a small club near El Toro Marine Base, a group of Black Marines were there, one of them shouted out, "Thats righteous, brother!" A short time later Bobby suggested they adopt the name. Ray Charles and the Black singers of that era were a great inspiration on them.

I'm pretty sure this song goes back to somewhere in the 1950s, maybe early 60s. I just know I first heard it by a blues cat named Muddy Waters on an old Chess Records album in the late 60s. I'm not sure where that opening guitar riff comes from. It's been around for long time and probably used in a dozen different songs.
If you want to hear more blues/soul you want to hear Bobby Hatfield’s ‘Summertime’, but as a Righteous Brothers solo. As noted by others the song followed the Muddy Waters type of riff.

Willie Dixon was the artist who wrote the song. Muddy Waters then released it, in '54. The Righteous Bros released their rendition in '64.

Blues man from Mississippi Willie Dixon wrote so many great blues tunes such as I Just Wanna Make Love to you. There are other great tunes from Dixon. Any thing you'd play would be great.

That song was played in the movie "The Babysitter" when the kids went through the bar to get away from the bad guys. The band in there was playing it and the babysitter had to sing to get past them. Good movie.
Bill heard Etta James' version of this Wiliey Dixon song and determined to make it their own. Both were highly influenced by black singers of the 50's and 60's. Both black and white audiences initially thought they were black.
