In our system the President is both head of state, like the British Monarch, and head of government, with a Prime Minister the equivalent in other countries. This style is appropriate for a head of state, whatever one thinks of his exercise of government. Kudos.

What a great man. Carter was a good President, although I do disagree with him not helping the Shah during the Iranian Revolution, he was a good president in terms of internal policy, which is what I look for in a leader. Their external policy comes second.
