It saved my life, transformed me, it counsels me, guides me, comforts me, teaches me, heals me ( I could go on and on)…. All by helping me forget ME and look at Jesus instead! One of the best pieces of artwork I saw in a church building was in an Orthodox church here in Rhode Island. The ceiling and the structure of the building was eight- sided. As one looks up to the ceiling, you see a "picture" of Jesus made out of the most beautiful small stones. Jesus is holding a Bible under His arm. I just about cried when I saw it!!!
Here is The Word holding The Word!!! Truly amazing and beautiful.
If indeed we love Jesus, we must love reading His Word. Period.
Academic study -- yes. Memorize much Scripture. Why? So that you can be a walking Bible. Share God's Love.
Bible study is both for the Heart and for the Mind.
As the saying goes, "you might be the only Bible that someone reads."

As a Recovering Pharisee and someone who takes pride in knowledge, I have to make a conscious effort to keep it from being all academic and remind myself the INTENTION of my study needs to be relationship. My purpose GETS to be relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I think we make a mistake when we think everyone has to do it "the way I do it". I have a problem with pride in my knowledge; I have to be intentional about relationship. Someone else may struggle with study; they need to be intentional about that. Like you said "there's no perfect answer". But we serve an immense God of love and grace who can meet every need if we're INTENTIONAL about sitting with Him every day. Thanks, Faith!
Amen, everyone's spiritual journey is different. For someone who has struggled with deep depression, I know, I SHOULD FEAR NOT. I have alot of fears and I feel guilty about them; but some how, I feel JESUS understands. I try to change but sometimes I fall short. That is where His Grace kicks in. He still loves me.

You probably already got this, but in my experience peeps usually complain at others in light of their own short comings. They may (or may not) mean well, but they're usually hoping to prevent others from screwing up like they have. Maybe that's where the commenter was coming from.
IMHO it's all about balance, BUT balance is a proposition based on need. Some need a deeper prayer life. Some need to participate in community more. Some need to shut up a bit and listen to His silence...often. Everyone needs something a bit different to live the Way.
BibleProject Tim Mackie was commenting a few months back on how he realized that his prayer life needed an recalibration. Talk about being deep in the Word. Bro's, the man, but he realized he was missing a whole lot of God's huckleberries by approaching it all from one angle.
Sometimes I wonder if the real problem isn't peeps are just impatient any more. They want it all, they want it now!--21st Century, silver bullets and magic beans, Squirrel!, people. Chill, growin' takes awhile, and every body grows different--thank Adonai!

I read in scripture just today that were to test the spirits of what is being taught to make sure you're being taught God's Word. We do that by learning the Word ourselves.
I think there is a short of Bill Graham stating he is a sinner and his trust is in the salvation of Jesus.

Aren`t it ironic? - we call ourselves intelligent yet missing the FEAR OF GOD and replacing it with pointless "education".
So are we truly educated, by killing off all that has a breath?
- cutting off trees, while live in an illusions that : oh don`t worried, we will plant these back soon. Do we not know that FOR A SMALL TREES TO BECOME A HEALTHY STRONG FOREST, A HUMAN LIFETIME MUST PASS. We, who plant the seed of the trees, DO NOT SEE THESE RASING UP. Nor do our Children before they are old. Grandchildren in between their lives (ages 40 or 50 and up) - they may have a chance for it. But as we keep cutting these off , all the chances then are taken away.

- We build all back a digital and not real - chasing after the illusion of living forever here on this dead earth. Yet not realizing that for a human to survive and live digital - A CHANGE IN THE DNA MUST TAKE PLACES. - Yet millions humans believe that they stay human - THE DO NOT STAY HUMAN - EVEN BIBLE PROOF IT.
So let me ask once again: ARE WE EDUCATED OR NOT?
Let me share with you all another proof that proofs EARTH IS FLAT AND THE SUN IS CLOSE:

I do think that I can share even another proof: The science channels: as we all take ourselves as highly educated then we should be able to notice a lot - right? - therefore if you all have notice the same I have, then you TRULY KNOW AND SEE THAT THEY, (NASA) NEVER HAVE SEND A THING OUT OF THE EARTH. - THEY PLACE THESE ALL AROUND ON THIS EARTH. Yes, they do a show for us and send them up in the sky for a moment, but all of these come back down soon as their “fake show for us is over” - here is wise to ask: WHAT GOES ON BEHIND THE CURTAINS? Therefore the question I ask from you all: DID YOU MANGE TO NOTICE THE FAKESNES OF IT ALL?
The question form bible to us: TO WE HAVE EYES TO SEE AND EARS TO EAR? and my question: DID YOU ALL NOTICE? - both are the same question just asked a little different:

Again, young souls, do researching about FREEMSONRY. Why do you all want to be ignorant and live in NOT KNOWING STUFF. How can you all be safe an fine - if the real harm is unknown to you? Start making a list of HARD QUESTIONS AND THEN GO AND SEEK OUT ALL THE ANSWERS.
Truth hurts only a moment, but lies hurt forever.
People, come to REPENTANCE AND LETS RETURN BACK HOME/HEAVEN, a wicked heart cannot enter. A change must accrue. A change of heart and a change of mind.
Lets explain human lifetime: 0 - 12 years = innocent childhood, 13 - 19 = teenage years, also the start of the age of responsibility. 20 - 60 yeas = Active adulthood and 60 - 120 = old age. So? When we die as children 0 - 12 years = not dying in sin and no going into torment, but immediately in the precent of GOD. When we die as teenagers (13 - 19), it`s the time to START TO COME TO REPENTANCE or when we die, we are at risk of dying in sins and going down to torment. When we die as ADULTS (in 20 - 120 years) and not come to REPENTANCE, and IF WE NOT AVOID SINNING AT ALL COST then we are 100% at risk of going to burn in THE LAKE OF FIRE. Therefore the age of responsibility starts usually with the age of 13 and yes there will be some special cases when there the age of responsibility never accrues. The secret of life: no man nor women ever had the power to voting. And both of them still don`t have it. That power was never given to mankind. Only thing that they did give us was just an illusion of we having power. Kids = coats and Child(children) = little human being. Start to understanding the power of the words and the different meanings these carry. Therefore do not mate with big goats ( non humans) and you never get kids, mate humans and bring forth CHILDREN.

So true I’m reading Exodus at the moment and oh my goodness the lessons just for every day life are so incredible! The revelations I’m having daily are so amazing. The fact that He is there guiding us telling us sometimes to go backwards and we have no idea why we’re moving back in. They are spirits, without a body like we have, that`s the reason we can`t see them, but they do see and hear us and they are the same much alive and real as we are.

I am in a Women’s Bible Study on Titus. I am so amazed how much information there is in Titus. It is three chapters and it is amazing how deep we are going and how much I am learning. It is a weekly class and on average about 4-5 hours of homework a week. We are in the last week and will finish class on Tuesday, and the homework for this week is total filling in charts, and fill in questions. I am loving it. I am using some of the on-line commentaries you have mentioned in previous videos. Thank you for this channel, vlogs, You have created.❤️❤️

Another great video!! Thank you!! You're right--it has to be a balance. There are Bible scholars who are atheists--Bart Erhman is the one I know about, but he's probably not the only one. For him it's just an academic subject, like biology or astronomy. We need God's Word and we need God's Spirit--there's nothing either/ or about it. We have to have a balance. You did a great job explaining that. And I love watching you make things while you talk--I just love that, as well as seeing your adorable little boys!! You inspire me so much!! I am only new but I HAVE to take an academic approach as being new I need to truly understand otherwise it comes across at times as just stories with no value to today (and sometimes boring stories) but once I understand the intent and context and dig beneath the surface it makes way more sense and sometimes leads me to more questions (which go in my notebook to bug a pastor about when I can)

How i enjoy the bible : I get my coffee, get pens and markers from mr pen, aesthetic makers hahaha,, and get my blanket and read it in my bed and then journal or ask the Holy Spirit (if i did not feel like God talked to me while i wa reading) what is he speaking to me and then journal about it❤

How can you hear The Holy Spirit unless you make time to recognise His voice through studying Scripture? I often wonder what Enoch and Abrahams's relationship was with God. What did they do to be considered a man close to Gods heart? They knew God's will by their actions. By following God's word day and night. God's word was their life.

I think it's a different strokes for different folks sort of thing. Personally, I am more of the be still and know type. Obviously, Jesus knew the scriptures, but from what I can tell, the gospels record him praying a lot more than reading. I feel like God wants to talk to us directly with that still small voice. It's hard to hear someone talking if you're reading. Even Jesus himself said that he had to leave in bodily form to make room for the Holy Spirit.
All that said, we are not all carbon copies of each other. You made an excellent case for study. We don't all come to faith in the same way. We all have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Jesus calls us to make disciples. So studying God's Word is something we must do. Ultimately it is the Holy Spirit that produces understanding, gives wisdom, and works in our hearts to change our lives. This is called application in bible study terms. I tend to be academic so I understand the concern. But honestly, majority of Christians don't have a problem with the Holy Spirit, the majority don't study their bibles.
Well Put! And Amen. God is after our hearts! Reading his word is edifying to our hearts and such a needed transformation takes place when we open ourselves to truly receive what the Holy Spirit has to say and do with us all while reading truth #HISWORD. Speaking of original language do you have any information/references as to why people believe the original Bible manuscripts were in Aramaic as it predates written/spoken Hebrew/Greek? I’m probably just not looking at the right resources to figure this out. Thanks in advanced and God bless you for always sharing so many wonderful insights and information!
Is not that we have to study the most deeper and use 3 commentaries but at least is important to know the context and to truly understand what are you reading-unless God ask you to do so or you wanna do it
You can make a truth mirror with bible verses or put them in your phone
Its part of the refiners fire. Nobody whats to do all that at first . I dont want to do all you do yet. I have no intrest in going to seminary or having an entire llibrary in My home. I have no intrest in hebrew classes. I want my bible, one commentary and atlis. I do need a dictionary. I am not in a hurry to read threw the bible. I just want to understand it to the level I am on. If he needs to me to learn on a different level, he will lead me when i am ready. . Hes directing my steps and I have learned not to compare my walk with him to others. I will continue to learn grow and follow him where ever that leads me. The bible is not about me anyways. I am learning who he is and what he went threw.
You can read your bible 15-40 minutes everyday

It’s impossible to just “ study “ the Bible because the Bible which is the Word of God, IS Spirit and Life. God’s Word is alive.
However, a person who is not truly born again will have a difficult time understanding it because, as the Bible itself says, they cannot spiritually discern it.
That's an interesting question. What if the spirit says something different to me that to you?
The problem with “listening to the Holy Spirit” is whether or not you know it’s truly from the Holy Spirit, or if it is from another spirit or our flesh.
1 John 4 says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”
Well, how does one test whether what they’re hearing is from the Holy Spirit or another spirit? Well… you test it against God’s Word because the Holy Spirit would NEVER contradict God’s Word. And the more time you spend in God’s Word… not just reading but studying it to understand it and maybe even memorizing it… it’s a lot easier to recognize if the spirit you’re hearing from is the Holy One or not.
Jesus said in John 15:26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father - the Spirit of Truth who goes out from the Father - HE WILL TESTIFY ABOUT ME.”
And in chapter 16 verse 14 Jesus says, “HE WILL GLORIFY ME because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you.”
To simplify determining if you’re hearing from the Holy Spirit or not, ask yourself, “Does this glorify Jesus?” If it doesn’t, you’re not hearing from the HOLY Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s job is to literally minister to us about Jesus. And if you have a spirit telling you that you don’t have to read God’s Word (which is how we get to know Him and grow in relationship with Him,) then it’s most definitely NOT the HOLY Spirit you’re hearing from.
I have been trying to get my husband to read his Bible more and tried to start a conversation with him about that. My husband, who is a Christian responded with “I hate to read and as long as I am discipling to others then I don’t have to read the Bible”. I don’t know how to respond without it becoming a fight. Do you have any advice?
The thing about discipleship is this:. In order to help others, and especially to contend with other's sins we must be full of mercy and compassion. Also, we must be diligent in knowing our Scripture -- which is the Sword of the Holy Spirit -- to help cut out the sin. The one who Disciples must be very strong in yet gentle to contend with another person's sin. The one receiving correction must be humble enough to admit and repent of sin and change their thinking, their words and deeds.
I did 12 years of volunteer work as a prison chaplain helping both women and men in two different prisons in Massachusetts. I praise God Almighty for that experience. It was my pleasure to see almost 200 people coming to faith in the Lord Jesus!!! Some of the women I met were murderers and most of the men I met were sex offenders. I usually did this ministry on my own, I didn't mind because I knew that Jesus was right next to me all the time .
Discipleship is indeed missing in the modern church. Praise the Lord for your husband!! But the question is: Is he full of the Spirit and Armed with The Sword??? May God Bless you and your family 💗🙏🌷 Miss Monique 🙂
@@moniquelemaire5333 I appreciate your response and am so thankful there are faithful people like yourself who feel the call to minister in the prison system! My husband thrives on leading people to the Lord and does not waste a moment when he feels lead to do so. I just wish he would do more reading of the Bible which I feel very strongly about. I love the thrill of pulling out new knowledge that I didn’t know before or putting the pieces together to see how things circle back. I’m thinking it is NOT the Holy Spirit indwelling each Christian that gets on RUclips to correct another Christian in-dwelt by the same Spirit of Holiness.
Both: study the bible and take a listen what that quiet voice of GOD says.
You have to know scripture (the gospels) in order to discern whether you’re being given a message by the Holy Spirit or a demonic spirit who comes to you “tickling your ears” (sic) and leading down the wrong path. If you don’t know scriptures then you won’t know how to tell the difference between spirits. Remember, Satan has been known to disguise himself as an Angel of light, deceiving many and leading people to their destruction.
It's dangerous to "listen to the Holy Spirit" and not know what the Bible says because it would be very easy to listen to the WRONG spirit! Remember, we're at war! The devil's a trickster who can easily lead you astray that way! BUT God will NEVER lead you astray from His holy, inspired Word! If the spirit does, then it's not GOD'S spirit! Go Faith! ❤

You mean like... I don't know, the "gospel of Peter"; or Sirach or Makkabeans in the OT?
In short, no- there are good reasons why they were left out. I'm not a sensation hunter, either. Not to be rude, but that's the _short_ version of "no, because".

I dont because they are not the Word of God, not inspired, did not add to scripture, and are of shady origin. For example, the book of Thomas was written 400 years after the events, not even by Thomas since he was already dead. On a personal level, I don't like to read, I can study the Bible but I haven't read fiction since school... I can't say I would never read them, maybe in the future, but I have a clear understanding that they are not biblical.

Faith how do you teach your kids about God and His word? I need help!! I’m a fairly new believer and I took those scriptures you quoted quite seriously and I attempted to teach Gods word and talk about scripture when sitting and walking and driving and all the ways the Bible instructs in the scriptures with my kids who are all different ages 5, 12, 17, 20 and people tell me I need to chill out that I talk too much. My 12 year old hates when I mention God and the 17 year old used to be receptive to my little lessons but now he rolls his eyes and just wants me to stop. (SO SAD) I read the adventure Bible to my 5 year old and sometimes when we are talking she tells me about things she hears and she will say oh that is wrong that person is going to hell! 😳And then I’m in a panic thinking AGH what’s appropriate to teach her!!! 🫢😬😵💫🫣 do you have any good, biblically sound age appropriate material/resources you could recommend? 🥴
