Could you create a video just showing you writing as you actually would on the remarkable 2? Preferably a few pages worth of content. No videos yet show it in actual note-taking use, only hilariously oversized writing that doesn’t adequately describe real-world usage.
Go to channel My Deep Guide. Excellent unboxing, and then a 4-part super in-depth review. You’ll see real world use there, handwriting and all, plus rM1/rM2 compare (also out today) which will give you more than this ... since it’s 1hr 10mins!
Is it really $600? Their site doesn't have any mention of it being more than $399 after the pre-order period...only that they're including a case and pen which can be upgraded for extra.
Each pen is extra (one more expensive than the other) and the folio is extra. Base price for the 2 is $399, but with all the extras, starts to get very close to $600.
I just bought the Remarkable 2...I do a lot of writing in legal notepads or just on pieces of paper from the printer. I deal with multiple clients/projects and in the past, my handwritten notes end up getting lost or with no organization and its almost impossible for me to go back to a set of notes to revisit a certain issue or confirm what was said or done previously. I may be a bit behind the times, but had no clue there was even a device like this that existed. I know its a bit of an expensive toy, but if I can keep all my notes organized in one place, each client in a separate folder and being able to convert to text and then upload to my computer, that’s a big win for me.
Thank you so much for this. I was reall thinking of getting the Remarkable 2 but only for the eraser and I thought that maybe the new one would have new features. I really really really like the rm1 pen... I love that click on the back... it helps a lot when thinking... popping the back in and out really helps me when I'm composing music and there's one thing that I thought maybe the rm2 would have (that I really miss) is the capacity of adding lines, circles, squares, rectangles, etc... like an "insert geometric forms" to help drawing houses, flowcharts, but that means I'll still have to use a ruler to get those anyway... (and I've also created a quickbook with these geometric forms so when I need them I go back and copy that page or the geometric form I need at that time... but this would definitely be great on the next generation). Meanwhile, I'm FULLY happy with my remarkable... and won't be buying the new one :) Obs. I live in Australia and paid $600 for rm1 and the new one with the cover I was wishing and the pen with eraser is AUD$ 819... so... thanks for helping me save that money!! Cheers, Alice
How do you make this and get the price that wrong? It’s not 600 even after the sale. But you’re saying the nibs wear down slower on rM2? That’s great news! Also you didnt even go over the speed of the OS and writing latency. Which I think are both better. Or the better contrast. Seems you’re biased or just really bad at this.

But the buttons on the RM1 are fugly. They're absurdly large and they can get in the way of your handwriting. They should've put them all to one side on the RM1. You can't unconsciously grab/hold it from the bottom edge without the risk of hitting a button because they spread them out along the entire edge.

Pol Murillo : No, what he’s saying is that they have a discount for preorders (you will pay less right now). However, on the previous generation, they often ran $100 discounts on the “retail price” ... so even if you don’t preorder, they will most likely run sales periodically.

There's not a big difference if any. That stark white border on the RM1 makes the screen appear duller than the RM2 that has a border shade closer to the screen color.
