This game is one of the two that made me realize I was weird. I immediately fell in love with it and have so much trouble convincing people to play it. And I think in my eyes the stories expansion essentially makes it perfect

Xia for me had the biggest barrier to entry but great payout. Has turned into one of my favorite games of all time.

I love the fact that this game allows me to bring such a "big" game with me when we're going camping or just on any trip me and my girlfriend is taking. It offers so much gameplay for its size.
And also, this is one of those few Tiny Epic games I actually managed to cram all the stuff from the expansion and the deluxe edition into the single box without having issues with the lid not closing fully. No such luck with Tiny Epic pirates or Vikings, gotta use both the main box and the expansion box for those. I agree with the comment about the rules being messy to read though, that is a real source of frustration until you've learned the iconography.
There is two tiny epic games me and my girlfriend like to bring on our trips, Zombies and Dungeons (we don't actually bring the box, we rather repackage it in a plastic container so we don't damage the box). A lot of game with little footprint. But I wouldn't mind a full sized version of dungeons with even more heroes/villains, more rooms and more loot.

Great review presentation. So many game reviews ramble on with impertinent information and cringy attempts at comedy. I appreciate that you got right to the point and kept the review concise.

Hey thanks so much. It's a hard balance to strike, but I'm glad it worked out in this case. Happy gaming & cheers from Alaska!

Great vid. Convinced me to purchase, this vid was the straw that broke the camels back (I've watched way too many).
Just bought for solo play so I can wind down before bed and reduce screen time, maybe have my girlfriend join but she's not interested in dungeon crawlers - for now!
I've heard there are some good cheat sheets out there to deal with the icons, think I'd rather print something than constantly referencing online.

It’s a lot at first but once you grasp it it’s amazing. So much game in a small box

Great review! Many thanks. I've got everything Tiny Epic that came out before this game. I will take the plunge at some point. One disappointment rules-wise is how the torch moves after each player turn. It's a mechanism I see in lots of games that just grinds my gears, whereby the game time moves on after each player's turn, suggesting that each character was standing around doing nothing whilst only one character acted. It creates thematic dissonance for me. I'd have preferred it if each character got to act, then the torch moved, which would simulate the characters acting at the same time even if player turns are resolved sequentially. Alien: Fate of the Nostromo did that with the alien getting an action via an Encounter card after each player's turn and it killed the game for me. Thanks.

Great. Review.. I agree. It’s a very fun game. I think it would have been better if it was either a medium instead of tiny game or just a little less complicated and less icons and just less stuff to make it shorter play time and fit in the Tiny game.

Too many bones was my barrier to entry game. I’ve now got the base gearlocks plus ghillie and nugget figured out, it is my fave game by far now! Can’t wait for the unbreakable content and I added undertow with this too so I’ll now have so much more! But man that was a struggle to get figured out, plus each gearlock took at least 30 minutes each. Well worth the investment, worth mentioning I’m mainly a solo gamer.
I did get tiny epic dungeons too and played it about twice before I lost interest. I did have the iconography down at one point but I’ve forgotten it since. I found the game a bit too easy/bland until the boss phase and then it felt idk fiddly? I’ve been meaning to try it again but the icons and rules are such a drag to figure out again.

If you found it a bit too easy you must have either gotten very lucky or got a few rules wrong (which to be fair would be easy to do with only two plays).
