I have Tiny Epic Quest and Galaxies. Love them both. Have to say if you play Quest with the same people the analysis paralysis isn't nearly as bad. Never tried the solo mode on that, but I've heard a few people say it's solid so maybe I'll give it a shot. I liked the solo mode on Galaxies, but didn't try quest because I didn't think "beat your own score" would be what I was looking for.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад

I don't mind "beat your own score" if the basic actions are good. I love the spatial puzzle and don't need a whole lot of opposition, although I understand if others feel differently.

Late to this party it seems, but just having been getting into the Tinies, I've been delving hard into which one I should get next. I started with Zombies and my partner and I both love it - I've even spoiled it with the fitted card sleeves so I can stop cringing when they need to be shuffled lol. I really want dungeons next, it being complicated doesn't scare me, and personally I think I'll really enjoy the looting aspect of it all building up to a final boss! Looks like it'll be more custom size card sleeves to buy though lol

TE Western is not only my favorite TE game. But my 3rd favorite game of all time.
It is incredibly thinky. I'm meh on its solo. When you play it enough, you learn to game it. But play it just because I like to see this bad boy on my table.
Mechs is higher than Quest for me. Quest I liked at first but got boring. Mechs is a good small box programming game. And programming is my fav mechanism.
Tactics is my #2 for TE. So much game in that box.
I have not play pirates but you definitely make me want to pick it up.

Wow, this is awesome! I will say I was a little disappointed that Vikings was so low as I just backed it. Defenders is by far my number one. Also, I did NOT like Quest at all for the AP reasons you mentioned - you have inspired me to play the solo variant and give that a try! You helped me pass on Dungeon - even though it sounds fun, I don't want it to be so complex given I play with my young ones a lot. Galaxies is fun, but man... Defenders gets so many plays in my house! (I also have Dinosaurs and Zombies which are fine for me)

I personally find TE Quest to be one of, if not the most, underrated and under appreciated TE game in the series. It's the one no one ever seems to talk about or mention when talking TE. Everyone is all over Zombies, Mech and Galaxies but I feel Quest beats them all. ( and I love Galaxies )

    • @OneStopCoopShop

Thanks for this video. I’m loving the tiny epic series. However I think the solo version of “Galaxies” is horseshit because it’s just too difficult with the dice roll working in against me too often. I love “Zombies” and “defenders” though my version of that game is a tad different.
Good to know the ones I’m considering are good games.

I like Dungeons, painted mine and got a full 3d dungeon just to play it. But the poorly done rules make it feel like it's by a first time designer or a rough draft. The fact that you practically need the appendix to play (which isn't even included in the box) is moronic and a good example of how bad iconography can be in a game.
I really like Quest but wish the theme came through better. Zombies and Defenders are also cool, good to hear Defenders is better with the expansion. I have it but have never played using it.
I came here to see if Pirates might be a decent buy (compared to Black Fleet), but as soon as ypu said "rondel" I threw up, ha!

The only Tiny Epic we played was Galaxies and it was a good game. I don't remember having as many components as there are shown in this video, did they come with the kickstarter? Anyway, my wife and I agree the only thing holding it back was its tiny presence. If it had been scaled up a bit, included dual layered player boards, or the illustrations were a bit more vibrant it might still be on our shelf. It's a cool little niche though. Certainly lived up to its name. I wonder if they'll ever produce a full size deluxe version of their best selling titles.

Western is my number 1. The only reason why I think it's so low on your list is because you don't like poker combined with worker placement, or just don't like poker at all.

It baffles me as to how everyone thinks Tiny Epic Galaxies is so great. I own all the games in the series (except I haven't played Vikings yet) and I would put Galaxies at 11 only ahead of Mechs. I find Galaxies to be the most boring Tiny Epic game.

I find this one the easiest to get to the table with newer players. Every time I teach this one at my local library, people pick up the action dice and figure things out pretty quickly. I gave a lot of plus points for that.

@@OneStopCoopShop I do agree on it being easy to teach. I don't even disagree with your placement in your list, because it is a very well made game and probably most people's introduction into this series if they've been gaming a while. The changes are very, very minor - take the first player token, and don't let the bot complete an action and a contract on the same turn. That's it. I'm actually surprised they don't just release a one paragraph thing on their website saying those are the new rules.
