You can get really cool AR looking stocks for them.

So that's not an aftermarket barrel? What did you have to do to be able to have a semiautomatic rifle with a short barrel and suppressor in the UK? I've been tinkering with a semiautomatic 22 rifle trying to move it out to 100 yards. What size is your plate target? I'm only able to hit a 12 inch target consistently from that distance. Of course, the day I tried it, the wind was blowing hard enough to knock over my target stand.

.22 is the only semi-auto we are aloud here in the uk. (Apart from semi-auto shotguns)
I didn't have to do anything special to get it. Once I applied for a .22 on my licence along with the suppressor (Allowed because its for hunting vermin) then as long as the barrel isn't shorter that 12" it's perfectly legal.
In all honesty, this rifle is not that accurate... Obviously having a short barrel doesn't help, but it's also old and had many thousands of rounds thru it! The target is a 20" piece of steel. Taking my time (Unlike in this video) I can hit my 10" gongs at 100 yards.

@@JTactical That's interesting. What is the magazine capacity limit for shotguns? So, are pump, lever, and bolt action rifles allowed? Are any handguns allowed? I need to look into the shorter barrel and accuracy. Shorter barrels loose some velocity, but they have some advantages too, like being stiffer. Reduced sight radius can be a down side. Getting a short barreled rifle or a suppressor here is kind of a pain, but mostly just more money and waiting for the paperwork to process and come back. The length limit is 16 inches.

If you have a regular shotgun licence you maximum is 3 shots. If you have it on a Section 1 Firearms licence you can have more... Most tube mags have 7 or 8 shot. (I'm not sure if we have a limit for box or drum mags)
Bolt action and Lever actions are allowed provided you apply for them on your licence. Handguns are a No-No. We can get Long Barrel Revolvers though. They also must have a stock extension on them too. I think you may be able to get 2 or 3 shot revolvers for 'Humane Dispatch' reasons... Don't quote me though.

@@JTactical this is all quite interesting. I appreciate your straight forward answers. With regard to shotguns, it seems your laws are not too different from ours, other than the licences requirement, which we don't have. As you may or may not know, gun ownership is a hotly debated topic here in the USA. I find a lot of people will make up things if they don't know the answer. Gun laws where you are are relatively unknown here, and based on your video and answers are not as restrictive as often portrayed. More restrictive than I would like to deal with, but not as much as I had thought.

I do think that we have the right idea with background checks, although it's not without its flaws. But now that I'm cleared to own Firearms, I would like it to be a little less restrictive... We need to prove "Good Reason' to own each firearm we want before we can get it on our licence. I'd also like it to be possible to own handguns... But just like semi-auto centre fires, I know that will never happen over here!
