And this is exactly how it’s done! In quick, unplanned gestures. There is no better way to learn how to draw, so pay attention friends. Thank you Mr. Mad Charcoal!
This is how I draw normally. Trying to draw in a stricter way bores me. I don't have the patience and I love how quickly shapes form drawing like this.
Amazing sketch as always. Btw I do have a question to anyone reading this, do you guys have any advice for trembling hands while sketching. I don't have any medical condition as such, maybe my lazy lifestyle and lack of arm and wrist strenght is causing the problem.
Unless you're still experiencing it after practicing sketching for a while, I guess just keep practicing. Trembling is typically only an issue when your hand is moving very slowly, which is usually a result of being unsure of your actions- the more you practice, the more your movements become muscle memory, and the more you move, the less time you have to tremble. That's just a very unprofessional opinion from someone that also struggles with trembling a bit, so take it with a grain of salt.
I completely agree with Jasper. I work with my drawings laying flat on a table, but when I do, at rare times, work with on an easel, my arm/hand might be a little shaky ‘til I get used to it. Still.., this kind of gestural/scribble drawing shouldn’t be too effected by a shaky hand, if you’re able to get comfortable with it.
Keep your hands loose and don't worry about mistakes .The mistakes get covered by details.Start with a messy drawing and then focus on correcting it. I have shaky hands too and that's why I've adapted to this style, shaky hands actually with the scribbling.
If I can be controlled and strict enough to draw a cathedral, stone by stone, I'm curious to see what happens if I try this to get back into drawing again. After a long time of no inspiration. Maybe doing cathedrals only made me feel a little bit artisticly imprisoned after all...
