No, actually the time line are happening in cycles and can be changed. It is evident when eva said she can change the path.every timeline is happening in unending cycles and each cycles can have changes. Claudia also acknowledges this when she says that this moment has not happened yet when she meets Adam or older jonas.
I wonder if this happens for the first time in the timeline or when Jonas and Martha are almost in the caves she hesitates about what Jonas told her, but finally goes with him there and they end the loop finally. Maybe it was not the first time when they both tried to end all this suffering, but it ended in different way that Alt-Martha does not go to the caves with Jonas so the loop continue.
I think one thing here is not completely consistent. This timeline doesn't branch off at the switch point at which all other alternate timelines do (Jonas 1-3, Martha 1+2). I had the understanding, that there is only a single switch point caused by the time standing still for a brief moment. One could argue, that this is the "last cycle" and it is in some way allowed to break out. However, there was one person in a wiki or forum which insisted that there is no such thing as cycles in Dark. What happens is just perceived as cycles by the characters (and viewers), but actually everything happens only once. I found that very convincing, but that doesn't match with this "second switch point".
This jonas died without even knowing what was what in the alt world.

The stretch is that alt-Martha fell in love with Jonas over the course of a couple of days. Slightly explained by “deja vu”

Actually this would expain why just Alt Martha remembered that she saw Jonas in the closet scene,when she was child.
