    I love to sew gifts that are fast and useful. These also are hits at craft shows or fairs. I'm going to show you how I make bowl cozies in 2 different ways.
    The 1st way is the precut batting and FQ fabrics. I don't do it like the packaging says- I adjust the measurements a smidge and I'll show you why.
    The 2nd way is with a cute postcard pattern by Carolina Moore and scrap batting, then using her new ruler to dart and curve.
    Both ways work, and you can adjust the sizing as you wish.
    Kits are available, as well as packaged batting and Carolina's pattern.

    I made 4 of these today. Your instructions are so easy to follow and you make it clear that it’s OK to mess up. My first one isn’t perfect but it will do the job. The ones I made after that one are better. I had fun making these. They are going to be Mother’s Day gifts. Thanks for your easy and fun instructions.

    I like the rounded version, but it is trickier to sew the opening shut, mainly because that part needs to be straight and there's not enough length for it, and in closing the opening, I do a topstitch around the whole rim. It gives it a nice finish.

      I also had the same experience. I used to sell bowl cozies at craft shows and have discontinued because people just don’t understand that even if you use 100 percent cotton, it will catch on fire if you leave it too long in a microwave. Just like food. I never put mine in a microwave. I just slip it in after I warm the food up.

    My Singer Confidence Quilter struggles a bit to get through all 4 layers, but I did manage to finish them. I put a TL18 on 3 month layaway with a Sew Steady table & insert. I can't wait until I pay that baby off and can start some serious projects! I love how simple you made these, and I'm going to use that knowledge to spread bowl cozies to every house I can!

    Brand new to your channel. You are so cute. I have made some of these cozies before but found them finicky. The instructions I followed used the 10" squares. I am definitely going to order the precut batting and use your first method. I have liked and subscribed and I am going to be catching up on your past videos, in addition to looking forward to the new ones.

    Do you have to position material different if the material is Positional

    • @SewHungryHippie
      @SewHungryHippie  10 месяцев назад +1

      Since this is just a bowl cozy, I don't think it warrants worrying about direction. A bag though- now that would matter a lot, you'd want your print to be right side up on a bag.
