In October 1994, my wife won a raffle on a local radio show in northern California. The prize was two free tickets to see the Rolling Stones during their "Voo Doo on the Lounge tour at the Oakland Coliseum. I was 39 years old and this would be my first rock concert. My wife was 34 years old and I think she had been to a concert when she was a lot younger, before we met. We were both born and raised in the country and we did not like large crowds. At the time I was an Officer with the California Highway Patrol, with more than 10 years on the job. I was Marine Corps veteran with 7 years of active duty, 1974 to 1980. In 1994, I was also in the USMC Reserves in the San Francisco Bay Area. We got a motel room within reasonable walking distance to the Oakland Coliseum. I had a fanny pack which was designed as a conceal carry holster. I wore the fanny pack with my 5 shot Smith & Wesson .38 caliber, Chief Special, 2 inch barrel revolver. I was able to sneak the gun past the lax security at the entrance to the concert. I think they were more concerned about people bringing booze inside. My thinking was if the security people find my gun, that I will show my credentials as an off duty cop and can legally carry a concealed firearm. The most they could do was to deny our entrance into the concert. We enjoyed the show, and near the end, my wife and I decided to leave early and beat the crowd (bad idea). It was close to midnight. We were walking on the sidewalk about 200 yards away from the concert and there were no other people in the area. Then I saw a group of 5 men walking towards us about 100 yards away. I already had my gun out and in my right hand. The gun was blued and it was hard to see it at night and the way I held it in my hand, you could not see the gun. The group of thugs got closer, I put myself between them and my wife. As they got within 15 feet or so, one of the guys asked if we could give him one dollar for gas, because their car ran out of gas. Yea, right. I knew this was a ruse. As soon as you reach into your wallet or your pocket, that would be the moment for them to strike. They had not seen my hand gun, yet. I did not say a word to them as I tried to keep a position of advantage. The guy doing the talking became angry because I would not answer him, however, I held my hand gun low near my waist about a couple of inches away from my right side. I was pointing the muzzle directly at the bigger guy standing next to the guy doing the talking. I kind of figured out their plan. The guy doing the talking is the distractor, the guy next to him was bigger and I knew he would be the one to strike first. He saw the gun pointed at his chest from about 6 to 8 feet feet away. He and I made eye contact, he knew without a doubt that he was going to get shot if they tried to jump us. The three other guys standing in the background also saw the gun. The bigger guy was nudging the "talker" telling him that they need to go away. The talker was getting more pissed, insisting that we give him money. Then his friend said something like "Shut up, he has gun". The talker then saw my gun and the look on his face was priceless. He backed off a little bit and I nudged my wife away as we backed away. I still did not say a word. The talker's ego and pride was hurt that I got the drop on them, he was still talking trash. I figured those guys also had weapons, by the way they were keeping their hands close to their waists and by their body language. I never turned my back on them and I stood my ground as they slowly backed away. I waited until they were about 100 yards away before we turned away to walk back to our motel room. My wife was very athletic (now ex-wife). She was a body builder and had won numerous contests, including Miss California and Miss USA in the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union). After we got back to our motel room, we talked about the incident and I know she would have fought those guys and she would not have given up. These are the kinds of incidents that are countless and nobody ever hears about because no body was hurt or called the police. We did not call the police, because it would have pointless.
Good video. My wife didn’t understand when I started carrying at first, but now she understands all the crazy shit that happens in the world, & I refuse to be a victim

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos, and try to catch most of them 👴👍
good thing it worked out and you're still alive, never know what could happen.... I had to use my .357 back in 05 on a few guys stealing my truck with my tool trailer attached to it, i was self employed back then, I went out and yelled at them and they pointed a shotgun at me so I ran into my house and told my brother to call the police and no sooner than I said that one of the guys came onto my porch and pointed the shotgun at me and told me to get on the ground, I ran to my room and grabbed my revolver and fired two rounds towards the guy with the gun and I was lucky enough to hit him in the side. well that pretty much ended the situation. he was pretty much expiring on my porch and his partner got out of my truck and ran away. no charges filed on me by the D.A.. but I never want to go through that again....

this is a great tribal knowledge story. Their is case law to support deadly force if you are trapped. Also from the totality of the story of multiple people robbing cars is also a good justified use of deadly force. This is a scenario that i never considered so i am thankful for this tribal knowledge.

hi my friend! Great story! That Colt Government .380 was a VERY wise choice! AS You may recall I grew up in and around Detroit. I saw a Man gunned down with a .45 Gov,t model when I was 16. After that like Yourself I was the Proverbial Guy who walks in to buy some Beer and Peanuts and walks right into a Robbery with the crook using a sawed off Remington 870! I have seen my fair share too. I vowed at a very early age to always be armed and to this day I,am! I also agree with You on "mouse guns/pocket guns being effective! I actually prefer the .32 acp/.32 Smith and Wesson long.
I always carry and it's usually a pocket holstered snub or my shield plus with the flush 10rd mag or a .380. However, I really must find another way to carry while in my car as I'd be screwed if I'd need my firearm. Always love watching your channel as you have shown, when most people should be concerned about an immediate emergency others are looking for an opportunity to victimize folks. Its an evil world today. You have to stay strapped just to enjoy the sunshine. Best regards!
it is estimated that 90% of self-defense situations where a gun is drawn, a shot is never fired. The caliber of the gun literally has NO impact in 9 out of 10 firearm-involved self-defense scenarios. Train and carry, folks....
You never know how these situations can turn out. There is no guarantee that it will be in the good guys favor but by being armed and proficient we stand a much better chance. Fair play to you, sir. One of the times I am acutely aware of my vulnerability is when I am traveling across a state line where I am denied my constitutional right to bear arms. The idea that government would force us to face a situation as you did without the means of self defense is outrageous. The recent Supreme Court decision may change this but in the mean time we are faced with the choice of being prey or felons ourselves.
Love listening to your videos but maybe a little more attention grabbing action during! I bout fell asleep during this one and I was interested to hear it! Maybe it was the paper! Lmao
They say eight times out of 10 just letting the criminal see your gun is enough to thwart the attempt and make them get out of there quickly. They're bullies and punks and cowards and as long as the odds aren't in their favor anymore all of a sudden they lose their stomach for the fight.
HAHA I wish I could've seen that scumbag running away and falling! I have no pity for bullies like that. Im glad everything worked out and nobody had to get hurt or killed..Perfect time to stick up for yourself though. You read the situation perfectly. No reason to give punks like that money with no weapons pointed at you
+50 Stitches Steel Lol, it should have all been captured on video, would have went Viral! I hate low lives who try and take advantage of bad situations. Always be armed!
The New England states are a target rich environment for criminals because virtually no law abiding citizen carries. I've never heard of this type of shakedown happening in Alaska. Criminals up here know that pretty much everyone is carrying. I carry a Glock 23 with two spare mags...40 rounds to neutralize any threat. I'm in the process of transitioning to a Glock 43X MOS, so with two spare mags, I'll now have 46 rounds on me.
I have heard in other videos that when you pull your gun, even if no shots are fired, it's a good idea to call the police so the criminal doesn't call and reort you as a terrorist. Any thoughts on this ?
I think that's probably a good idea although it could open you to a whole slew of questions. I would say that when ever this happened to me the bad guys were drugged up or just down right bad apples who want no contact with the police.
Good story. One of the good things about the gun loving South is that thugs hardly ever mess with people in their cars since a lot of people, or most people in rural areas, all have firearms next to the drivers seat.
What type of magic does your marker do I'm interested in seeing some magic from your marker and how much did you pay for it did you get it from a wizard let me know please
hello i had a trouble a few years ago someone putted a gun on my head for cash but if i carry a gun for self defence people in my area liQe family become mad and dont understand that .... what is best option for thiss QQind of ssituations IF it ever happen again
A z Try to avoid bad situations by all means and if you can't carry a gun learn other self defense techniques as well as carry other non lethal defense objects.
This story is racially sensitive/tolerant, but we all know that all of these attackers/robbers were of Scandinavian decent. Something about that Viking blood running through their veins.
It's sad for me becasue I live in Australia our gun laws are very strict and prohibit the use of firearms or bladed weapons for use of defending life. It sucks but our gun laws work and as a person hoping to join the police I do not dare break the law. I am of a slightly less muscular build so a force multiplier such as a firearm would be helpful, do you have any ideas for self defence tools or weapons that I could use.
thanks for the reply i will check that out only problem is anything made specifically to cause bodily harm is considered an illegal weapon an if found in possession of one can face serious jail time. So kubitons and pepper spray are restricted items in which only services such as the police can possess them obviously the police use full length extendable batons but kubitons fall under the same category
This is the gun in the video: ruclips.net/video/CWtx9ZdhG0g/видео.html
A testament to the fact that the need can arise anytime anywhere. Be prepared, always carry.
grizz474 Very true my friend. That's why these people who only carry when they think they might be in danger are so wrong.
If you knew you needed you would have had it and since you cant see the future well carry it thats why you bought it!

We are limited to ten round magazines. Thanks very much.
Thanks for answering my question.
Your first mistake was getting out in that weather condition….🤓
I needed to help my mother which I would certainly do anytime
@@GunCollector007 what did she need that was so urgent?
wow, what a story
Yes, it's was a little crazy. Just shows that some people like to take advantage of a bad situation. Point is to always be aware and armed.
Good story. One of the good things about the gun loving South is that thugs hardly ever mess with people in their cars since a lot of people, or most people in rural areas, all have firearms next to the drivers seat.
Glad you didn't have to use deadly force, criminals are cowards always looking to prey and take advantage of situations. Nice drawings ..lol
+OrangePitbull I agree, this guy took of like a chicken on ice! Glad you like my Kindergarten drawing, lol
Short nine mm.. I almost bought a ten mm like that just a little bigger by smith and Wesson...

A z Try to avoid bad situations by all means and if you can't carry a gun learn other self defense techniques as well as carry other non lethal defense objects.

This story is racially sensitive/tolerant, but we all know that all of these attackers/robbers were of Scandinavian decent. Something about that Viking blood running through their veins.
constitutionalist79 They were punks, pure and simple. They do what they do and I do what I do, which is to never be a victim. Thanks
Rooster Taege I've heard it's pretty tough over there. I have a video on less than lethal weapons. I recommend pepper spray or a Kubiton. Thanks.
thanks for the reply i will check that out only problem is anything made specifically to cause bodily harm is considered an illegal weapon an if found in possession of one can face serious jail time. So kubitons and pepper spray are restricted items in which only services such as the police can possess them obviously the police use full length extendable batons but kubitons fall under the same category
Rooster Taege taser ???
Danny Pereira tasers are restricted to police use our security officers arent permitted to use or carry and weapons or touch anyone.
Rooster Taege lol australia is fucking absurd get the hell out of there man
Too long winded have up.
+Martin Garza Ok, I will watch one of your videos to see how it’s done, thanks.
