Ah the battle axe. Always a crucial part of any kitchen! Thank you for this recipe! Update: Just made it. Was able to halve the recipe. I would add more salt cheese and onion that I did but otherwise a solid, simple and delicious recipe. Can't wait to surprise guest with it!
A Roti (also called Chapati) is a plain Indian flatbread. Small pieces of dough are rolled flat and in circular shape, lightly toasted on a dry tawa (skillet) and then directly held over over open flame till it fliffs up. You have added fillings, multi - wrapped the rolled dough, then fried it in oil/butter. It is a Paratha. ( A rudimentary Naan bread). If you dry roast it on a non-stick frying pan, it will not taste good because the fillings remain half cooked. For making a multi- layered Roti, please look up Jehann Powell's cooking channel. She lives in Guyana.
Terima kasih banyak atas dukunganmu! Senang mendengar bahwa kamu suka video ini. 🙌🇮🇩 Teruslah menikmati dan semoga berhasil membuat roti tanpa ragi dan oven!
Looks great. Try substituting all purpose flour with whole wheat flour. That is healthier. If you want it soft, add 1/4 cup rice flour with the wheat flour before kneading.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm passionate about food and love sharing my knowledge. 😍 What are some of the most interesting or exotic dishes you've tried making or eating?
This is called Warki Paratha. Carom seeds in a pinch are added to the dough itself. Other additions like turmeric, green herbs and steamed spiced potato are optional. After each fold you can brush the surface with a bit of oil and sprinkle a little flour. You get beautiful layers.
Thank you for sharing this additional information! I appreciate your insights on different variations and techniques to enhance the flatbread's taste and texture. 🙌

Excellent video in presentation and quality. The recipe, ingredients and measurements are very helpful. As a kind note, it might be good to make sure the pan (with oil) is hot enough to accept the bread, as if it is too cold, you might have a soggy but hot flatbread. Test the heat with a sprinkle of water, before you make the commitment to proceed. Non stick or a little oil will make it much more crisp. Thank you.
Thank you for your valuable feedback! I completely agree with your suggestion about testing the heat of the pan before proceeding. It's definitely an important step to ensure the perfect texture for our delicious flatbread. 😊👍

It is looking yummy. 👌 I have tried a similar flat bread but with different ingredients. I used diced onion and green chilies + egg + cooked minced meat till gravy dries up (cooked with onion & ginger paste + Bay leaf + cardamom powder + small cinnamon stick + crushed fried onion) as ingredients.
I am dairy free so made with veggie oil instead of melted butter and without cheese , it still works very well. Thank you. First time I made such a flaky roti!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm delighted to hear that you found the recipe tasty, appetizing, and colorful. Wishing you a wonderful day filled with inspiration! 🌟🎉
Just as a tip you can add more fillings but after the 2nd fold turn it over then do the 3rd and 4th fold as the ingredients won't fall out as your way only one side as dough layers and yes this is paratha from India essentially. We don't use baking powder and they generally have more fillings and are thin soft and can be abit crispy if you like it that way. If there was only one dish I could eat my whole life it would be a aloo (potato) paratha 😋

Despite your good intention you are kind of making a similar error. Because this is not really paratha as well. It is called Murtabak / Motabbaq , a dish originated from the middle-east. It is called "Mughlai Paratha" in India and Bangladesh for the same reason westerners call roti "flatbread" - for familiarity.

Thanks for trying out my recipe Tanya! I love experimenting with new flavors and techniques. 😎 What are some of the most unique or unusual recipes you've tried making?
This is like our Indian parathas - only thing is we don’t use baking powder. We make it mostly with wheat flour. You can make it plain, or with any stuffing you want eg: mashed potoatoes, chopped onions, hung curd( panneer), any leafy veg etc you can also make a sweet version with boiled lentils with brown sugar!!
Very nice! I make a filling of finely cut onions, & boiled & shredded chicken breast sauteed in soya sauce, with a bit of crushed pepper & salt & de-seeded non-hot green chillies...let the mixture cool, then make small hand-sized roll-outs with either flour or wheat-flour. But only with flour one gets that crunchy effect!!
I am from Mumbai - India. Your recipe is good, but if you replace sll purpose flour with whole wheat flour or a combination with millet flour its nutritive value will improve. Also instead of cheese if paneer or cottage cheese is used it will surely amp its taste. Leafy veggies like spinach, fenugreek leaves is a healthier option. 👍
I love bread that is made on the stovetop or steamed because it is moist and soft, as opposed to baked bread which is overly dry and too crusty. Flatbreads like this and injera are more enjoyable, particularly with stews and vegetables. 😊
¡Hola!

From USA definitely I will try , it is like our routine prantha but with cheese and other stuffing it will come out delicious 💐🍀🙏
Thank you for trying out my recipe Anita! Let me know which ingredients you liked the most. 😍 What's your favorite type of cuisine to cook or eat? 😜
Muito obrigada por compartilhar 🥰, Nordeste do Brazil. Abraços
Always happy to help with cooking tips. 😎
From France ! Thank you ;)
That sounds like a delicious filling idea! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. 😋
Fiz esse pão ficou maravilhoso , obrigada pela receita❤❤

Hello, from Indonesia. It's look so unique. Thanks for your receipe. It will be inspiration for simple bread. Good job.
From Abu Dhabi UAE ..... i m learning cooking so far so good i am. 🙂
Thank you so much for taking the time to share these suggestions. I really value your input and I'm grateful for your support.
❤❤ great idea 👍
Que rico 👏 Gracias 🙋
Thank you for your feedback Emilia! I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe. 😊 What are some of your favorite herbs and spices to use in cooking?✋
I love bread that is made on the stovetop or steamed because it is moist and soft, as opposed to baked bread which is overly dry and too crusty. Flatbreads like this and injera are more enjoyable, particularly with stews and vegetables. 😊
You're welcome! I hope you find the recipe easy to follow. 😊 What's your favorite dish to cook for special occasions?
@@FastEasyRecipes I have too long a list of favorite dishes to mention. Right now I am fiddling with making English muffins.
Injera is actually better than most flours & it's packed with health benefits which most lack.

¡Hola! ¡Claro que sí! Puedes hacerlo en el horno, solo asegúrate de ajustar la temperatura y el tiempo de cocción según las indicaciones del fabricante. ¡Gracias por tu comentario y saludos desde Perú! 🇵🇪👍

Hello! Yes, of course you can freeze the bread!👌
